Grow#10 - Original Auto Northern Lights

Here we are for Grow# 10 and it's going to be exciting. Not only am I giving the classic strain Northern Lights another go but I've been given the opportunity to test out several unreleased autoflower strains from one of the best breeders in the world FastBuds. So this grow will feature the Original Auto Northern Lights. The description that FastBuds gives is that this is an unbelievably resilient auto-flowering strain, that is easy to grow and perfect for beginners. Very generous yields that really pack a punch when it comes to effect. This indica hybrid is one for those who enjoy a good couch lock. We were able to enhance the extremely high plant resistance from the Northern Lights, and as well as yields. A very tough strain that responds well to cold and hot conditions and requires very little maintenance. An old school classic that will really hit you between the eyes with her powerful, long-lasting effects, you will feel her 20% THC potency instantly after lighting a joint, with a fast-acting physical effect that is reminiscent of a full-blooded indica, and the best part of all it's done in 9 weeks.Now before I get started with the germination process down below will be a list of the equipment I'll be using : Hydro Planet 2x4x5 Grow Tent 3-Gallon Plastic Pot Happy Frog Soil Vivosun 300 watt Full Spectrum Grow Light Vivosun 4" inch Exhaust Fan Vivosun Carbon Filter Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier 2 Desk Fans Acurite Hygrometer Now for germination, I went with what I know, so the seed was soaked for a full 48 hours then moved to a paper towel were it was left to grow a taproot at least a cm long. After being in the paper towel for a day and half the northern lights seed was ready to be placed in the soil. I misted the soil slightly then placed the seed tap root down in the 2 cm deep. So when I woke up on Christmas morning, I woke up to this little lady above the soil and praying to the lights. (Great X-Mas Gift)Lol. I keep it simple and only misted this lady until Day 4 where she received her first watering, which was 250 ml of pure water, This was repeated again today on Day 7. Before the clock strikes midnight where I'm at I just wanted to say it's truly been a blessing and such an enjoyment to be part of the GrowDiaries Community, I learned so much over the last year and a half from other fellow growers that I've felt honored to be able to pass it own to others for success. Week 2 has finally ended for the Original Auto Northern Lights and I must say all is well. She's just been hanging out in the tent with the original auto Critical, original auto Russian, original auto Skunk, and original auto O.G Kush. Since I had a little scare with the Original Auto Russian having too much nitrogen I decided to wait and not give her any nutrients until the beginning of Week 3 like on Day 17. I did give her a few waterings though, one on Day 11 and another today on Day 14, just pure water with a ph of 6.2. She also had her first height measurement and she came in at 2" inches tall. Week 3 has come to an end for the original Auto Northern Lights and things have been super easy. This lady has been chilling and enjoy life. On Day 18 she received her first feeding, which is a little late for when I normally start feeding but she had no problem with it, then on Day 20 was given a watering of pure water with a ph of 6.3. Here we are for the week 4 update on the original Auto Northern Lights and this lady is really taking off. During this week she's started showing sex along with growing to 11" inches tall and this is all before the stretch. The last time I grew this strain it ended up being about 2 feet tall. Very basic week she was given a watering on Day 23 followed by a feeding on Day 26. I also went up on the amount of water she gets and the dosage of nutrients when she gets a feeding. This has been an easy week for the original auto northern lights. Had heat issue's in the tent this week due to turning on the heater in the house, but this lady seemed to be fine with it. She's stretching like crazy and showing some decent flower sites. I went with the basics this week just watering and feeding and let her chill. This lady is in full-blown flower and looking good. I did some light defoliation to remove the bigger fan leaves, I also went up on the amount of nutrients she gets each feeding too. The plant is now in full flower and showing great bud formation along with some serious frost! She's already stinking so good and the trichomes are packing on so fast they are even on the fan leaves. Another easy week. The buds are swelling at good rate and the frost is crazy on this plant already and she still has some time to go. Gave her the usual as far as feeding and watering and then I just let her be. This lady is close to the end. She's showing frost like no other, and her buds are swelling at a nice along with the pistils turning brown and receding. Very easy strain to grow never had an issue with the plant during its life cycle. Grew with a very spaced out structure never got bushy. It finished in 70 days and only took 5 days to dry, the plant was lightly wet trimmed and then was hung whole. The buds were very sticky so much to the point where your fingers would get stuck together after touching them. It definitely reminded of some old school bud.
