this week was when i transplanted to a bigger pot. lots of errors as my first plant. fucked up some roots but that may have helped as it was root bound severly as the pot i had it in was tiny.
this is when the plant started to really spurt (and when i probably fucked it). also this was the begining of what i believe of my thrips infestation from the mold created from that cardboard pot.
(this noob was also watering at a 7 ph since seedling causing lockout)
bear with my brain as i try and learn how to top this week by failling and chopping off one of my two shoots thus forcing to top down a node shorter but i left the fan leaves so they could suck in more light since it was going to a short topping. the end of this week is when i began giving it nutrients starting it to lockout. Live and learn. also at the end of the week you could see atleast the plant was knuclking up from the topping.
lol now people get to see my pathetic attempt at cloning a fucking fan leaf. this week the shoot are all expanding reaching for the light and the fan leaves are getting a decent size, suprised me that i could get a plant to veg this decent with just one bulb and my brain. the 13th is when i succesfully topped this (girl?)plant and repotted it into the same pot but with more soil. But right after i topped is when the plant started showing it was in lockout and or had defficenies, hmm maybe that was from adding hydroponic nuts to soil that didnt need it just maybe.
this week was full of growing and full of errors unsuprisingly. First topped again when i probably shouldnt of (stoner going treigger happy with the scissors) then i didnt lst enough this week, although most of these errors are because i dont have enoug time/$ for this hobbie. Another mistake is i didnt deal with those fucking thrips early enough, few week later i used diatomaceous earth and neem oil which worked like a charm. also i might have another short diarie for the plant next this plant which is a Red widow which i also believe is a male :'(. These were my last photos for november as thos thrips pissed me off and i was set on killing them.
during the break of photos i had bought a bar light and metal wire to lst better causing the plant to split in the middle from too much stress, however doesnt really seem to matter. this is when i started learning from all my mistakes and started to flush the plant so the leaves started to lose the pale colour. Also many colas were being created from low stress training, and since i was waiting to get a better light for flowering i didnt really care how long i vegged for. also this is when i started to see what looked like a calyx. I was also forced to move the plant to a bigger closet due to its size. these were the only photos taken in december due to me getting more worried it was a male, i then moved all my plants into my tent in the basement for more room once my light came in.
(week 11 im so good at math) during my december break i had finally ph'd my soil and figured out that my soil was relatively high so i tried lowering it and it seemed like the plant responded because now it can intake more. i also started misting more ofton but that started to become tedious.i had also bought nutrients such as worm casting and cal mag as a top dress and everything responded well to that. 3 days ago when i bought the Cob light i flipped it to 12/12 immediatelyt. At first it looked like they were all polen sacks but it lookes like theres only two growth's per node nothing more. wher on my red widow it has mutliple pollen sacks per node. so HOPEFULLY this plant is a girl and all this isn't for nothing.
So 2 for 2 are male for a first grow. learned alot from my first grow(even though its a male and i havent gone through bud). I can definitely spot a male now due to my "hands on experience". My #1 takeaway is to not veg too long, but i was forced to due to my situation, and if i were to veg this long i should actually buy from a seed bank to be sure.. I kept thinking that those were pistils instead they are the tips of 2 new fan leave just cockblocking me(A,B,C). i forgot to add that my stem had split in the middle, from too late and tooo much LST, and all i used was tuctape to fix it and it actually healed quite a bit to my suprise.
