hey everyone! I figured I'd diversify in the breeder section to see the different lineage and genetics and went with Niagara Own Seeds. The strain is Black Rhino, which is an indica dominant cross between BlackBerry OG and White Rhino..60/40, 70/30.
The fact this is only the second week and they're already little shrubs. The lineage with this breeder so far is showing good results, the roots are strong with this one :)
3rd week and getting bushy already?! I may have to do some LST work, but will most likely still stick with the topping to make this bad boy a fat shrub :)
I'm very happy and surprised at the growth from seed to 4 weeks of vegetation and showing the maturity of a plant that would resemble 6, 7 weeks of veg. Straight LED the entire time and this plant is growing at quite the rate. Transplanted in 5 gal fabric pots, 100% organic mixture - not.a.single.chemical :)
Since topping this bad boy, he's really bushed out and starting to pre-flower. I will say, from seed to 5 weeks of vegetation, the results are night and day between going from CFL / HID / HPS to full spectrum LED. 1/4 of the cost and results and quality are superb. The plant is pretty skunky and will be putting in the net sometime next week before flipping to flower cycle, she was topped at the beginning of the week which has pushed all those nutrients to make thick branches now. Thanks guys!
Hey guys! So I switched this bad boy to flowering this week after seeing solid root formation during veg. Any taller and I'd be be looking at running into space problems in the tent :) The smell is quite strong and I'm happy with how the branches have developed to form this nice "X" pattern. I'll be putting in the net soon so the lower branches can get some resistance and go sideways and up...picture a 45 degree angle and all those rays on the branch ;). Very happy with how things are going so far, I needed to up the water a bit since he's thirsty, although quite resilient and can be put under stress and doesn't seem to budge.
Hey everyone! So this week this bad boy is chugging away, stretching into a nice healthy bush. I've defoiled very little on this guy, more in the middle and some underneath, but the flower points in the middle are crazy..almost like a bouquet! Smell is rather skunky with a hint of diesel to it..sticky and reminds me of an artichoke :P So far, topping has really worked out as everything seems proportioned a lot better. I'm looking forward to later weeks when I see more mass on the endpoints :) Thanks guys!
hey everyone :) So this bad boy is pretty much killin it and very straight forward - relatively on autopilot. I removed 2 lower node branches so the plant can focus on the upper / mid parts which are looking amazing. Very hairy and the bud development is quite crazy - I look forward to seeing this plant in another 3 weeks, at that rate..it'll be flowered more than it was vegged....and only 5 weeks of vegging! The smell is pretty skunky with some gas to it - pungent. I think I will be revisiting this lineage of seed again as the genetics are quite fertile. Bye for now guys! :)
Hey everyone! So this week has been pretty good, no sort of issues really as I've decided to incorporate kelp meal into my next grow. With 4 weeks left of flowering, I feel this won't affect harvest too much considering my last group was showing cal/mag deficiencies before even going into flowering. Anywho, this bad boy is a monster and the buds are getting fat. I brushed up against some sticky leaves and all you can smell are literal blackberries with a skunky pungent smell to it. Exciting :) Buds are getting fat by the day, about toonie sized and getting some vertical growth to them..nice pine cones ;) Smell is incredible in the tent...sweet, skunky berries. Bye for now guys!
Hey everyone! This week has been exciting, seeing the large mass of bud creation being formed on this bad boy. He is INCREDIBLY frosty and quite sticky to touch. You brush pass any of the sticky leaves, and you smell like dank blackberries..legit, skunk berry goodness. I will definitely be revisiting the Niagara own seeds again considering the genetics are strong with this one, and with still 2 1/2 - 3 weeks to go, I can only imagine how big these nugs are going to be. I've already had to tie down the sweet tooth in the other diary down a couple times since the bud mass is crazy. I'm going to have lovely tulips once done :) It's an exciting time ladies and gents! Bye for now :)
Hey everyone! This week has been going very well and seeing a ton of maturity out of this plant. The buds are getting fat by the day, frosty and pistils are turning brown. I've had to tie the one branch since the net isn't giving much support compared to the other 3 main branches. The smell is incredible with a dense pungent smell of blackberries, with the hint of skunk. Terpene profile in this bad boy is going to be interesting to try 😊 The colas are getting fat! I took a couple pictures without the LED / IR rays...look at how golden brown the picture is showing the mid area of the plant....excitement! 😎 Bye for now everyone!
Hey everyone! This week has been exciting seeing this bad boy pack on MASSIVE amounts of weight to the buds. Seeing the cola's on this guy literally double every week is very exciting and the smell is so delightful. The trichrome formation on this plant is by far, one of the most clustered, uniform..like if you were to crowd surf, these would be the guys to cart you around the crowd. I will try and get a solid picture with the jewelers eye to post. This bad boy will be done very soon as I'm seeing a good formation of amber with clear trichromes...this will be a "smack you in the face and rub your back later" sort of high I think...looking forward to sampling soon! Bye for now guys!
hey everyone! Sorry for the late pictures as life got in the way :) This bad boy has packed on so much bud mass, a couple of the cola's have laid off to the side as the mass is real :) The smell and terp profile so far, by the looks of things, is going to be quiiiiite interesting :) A couple times while watering, I did the mistake of brushing against a bud and between having to take my shirt off to clean, washing my hands twice and soaking in rubbing alcohol..I finally got the stickiness off...beyond crazy lol. Harvest is going to be busy I think with this bad boy...lots of trimming will need to be done once I dry for a couple days, although making a tincture/ butter or "potka" would be pretty good with the clippings. Harvest soon everyone!...bye for now!

Happy Harvest Day!
Niagara Own Seeds - Black Rhino - Custom Breeder & Strain
Overall, good first time with this breeder strain - cure will tell everything but first impressions are beautiful - berry dank taste that hits you right away and lasts awhile...don't need much to give you couch lock from this bad boy :) 😏😎🙌
