My first Zkittlez was looking so sick I was unsure if she would make it. So I started a backup grow of the same strain. Initially I did not want to grow 4 plants as this turned out too many in my first grow. However as I'm expecting them to not grow that huge again, there should not be any space issues.
The new Zkittlez does not show the problems of her sister at this point of time. Instead she is growing very fast, as vigorously as HiJack. I hope it continues this way.
This second Zkittlez is showing perfect growth, very vigorous. Great development of side branches and looking perfectly happy. As I'm too lazy to mix different concentrations of nutrients, she is getting theoretically too much. But I also want to test the thesis that with organic nutes it is hard to overfeed. And others report that this strain can take quite a lot of nutrients, so let's see how this will turn out.
This lady has almost doubled in size in the last week. I think she will be the star of this grow. She is growing very vigorously, almost as fast as Jackie, but with a lot more secondary branches. I think she will start flowering in the coming week. So far I managed to keep her quite low, almost all the branches are of similar height. I love when I can achieve this without needing to stress her.
Great development. She is in full stretch and almost doubled in height this week. Leaves are perfectly healthy and dark green, her structure is just perfect. Even better than Jackie because of many secondary branches with tons of bud sites. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Now I hope it will continue this way. All the plants grew perfectly during the vegetation phase (except her sister in week 3), problems only start in flower for me. I'm curious to see if she will also be affected by whatever I'm doing wrong. If she is, I'm certain it's not some nutrient deficiency, as this lady was fed definitely more than needed.
Day 41. This lady is doing fantastic. Strong and healthy, many big side branches. She gives an idea what her sister could look like. I almost cannot believe that two plants of the same strain can behave so differently under the same conditions. I hope she compensates her sister and does not develop similar problems.
This Zkittlez is growing fine. Much better than her sister. I took extra care not to overwater her. Buds are filling up nicely. Hope it will continue this way and I do not mess her up as well.
This lady is doing fine, buds are swelling nicely. Bud she also is showing similar symptoms like her sister: Some lower leaves are becoming yellow or brown almost overnight. Luckily it affects only a few and does not cause any problems, but it seems there is something with my setup this strain does not like. No idea what it is. I'm sure it is not overwatering as the soil is bone dry every day and I'm extra careful not to give too much water. No runoff at all every time.
She will need one or two weeks longer as I'm gradually removing light hours in order to force the gorilla into flower.
This lady continues to grow buds, they are swelling quite nicely. Nothing special to report, I only need to wait. As I had to reduce light hours to 12/12 I expect at least one additional week; trichomes are about 50% cloudy and 50% still clear.
Leaves are beginning to fade and turning yellow. While this is normal development, there are still some leaves looking like suffering from some deficiency. It does not matter at all at this point in time, but this strain clearly is a diva that wants everything to be absolutely perfect.
Buds are nicely filling up. Today she is 69 days old and close to harvest. As she gets only 12 hours of light per day, I will let her go for another week. Most trichomes seem to be cloudy, but I could not yet detect any amber.
No news is good news. She is mostly ready, buds are not filling up much more. Trichomes are about 75% cloudy, the rest still clear and no amber. She will be harvested in a few days.
She was harvested on day 80 after breaking ground. Drying will probably be very fast because currently RH is extremely low. Final numbers in about a week.
Quantity is great, but the quality is not as good as with her sister. She is very similar, but everything is a bit lighter: Smell, taste and effect. Also the buds themselves are looking much brighter, not as dark as her sister. Smoke is still a bit harsh, but it was cured for only some days. However her sister was perfectly smokable even without any cure. I think I overdried her a bit because humidity was extremely low, so I should have put them into jars one day earlier.
Buds are extremely dense and rock solid. They are the densest buds I harvested so far. Almost 60g fit into the box that typically will hold just 40g average. This gives an idea about the crazy density.
Still very good weed and I will definitely grow this strain again. I want to learn what exactly she wants. It is the most picky strain I grew so far.

@@OimRausch, yes of course I checked the water quality here. It is excellent, just a little bit short of Mg. This is why I purchased CalMag but I want to go with epsom salt instead. We will see 😇 I agree on your view on rain water.
@Buddha2,
Did you had a check on your local water supplier? Nornally they provide an overview of the ingredients of your tap water.
Our tap water is free of Mg and Cal and a PH of 8-8.5, that's why I do not use it to feed the damsels.
I'm lucky because I can catch rainwater in 2 big barrels.
I'm not a big fan of RO water. I think it is too sterilely to keep anything alive.
@@OimRausch, there is no problem with CalMag, I'm simply not convinced it is needed for me. There should be enough of those elements in the tap water. I was wondering why most European nutrient manufacturers do not offer a CalMag product and then I realized that many people seem to be using RO water because the tap water contains chlorine. So my hypothesis is that you need to substitute those elements when you cannot use natural tap water. In any case I want to test this because I want my grow to be as natural as possible.
@buddha2, WOW 😳 this is a GREAT diary! Awesome pics and a wonderful documentation, I love the overview (from seed to plant) in the end, that is GREAT to see! 👍 Keep up the good work, man! 👏😎
Awesome looking girl! I love seeing mint mentioned and find that interesting, I worked a rec farm and we ground down some pounds of trim and small buds of Watermelon Zkittlez and it had a really minty aroma to me :) just my two cents 😂
Amazing growing! Looks like that’s all you do! :)
Looking great! 🌱
In my experience with my last grow in soil(with BioBizz nuts) the ppm tends to skyrocket as the soil gets dry. So I tried to almost flush them with each feeding so all that build up of salts washes off 😉
It’s especially important in the begging of flowering as the plants are more sensitive and like a constant ppm.
Looks like it's doing really well - I'm currently doing a Fastbuds Zkittlez and I have super cropped it. It's taken very well too it and is showing no signs of stress. Check out my diaries if you get a chance! Happy growing
Hey there,
Thanks so much for running a diary of our genetics 🙌
