Somehting really crazy happened at the end of week 2. The little girl pushed it's core root up into the air instead of digging in the medium. After 12 hours I came to check on the progress and saw that the root was almost dried out thanks to the LED's. Helped the root get back in under the soil and slightly covered it the stem with some gravel. Let's hope she can recover. Not gonna start up because I want to see how though this strain is.

Some strange growing behavoir. The plant is getting 'stubby' and is lacking the growth spurt. Let's see what happens.

Plant is still having problems recovering from the root being pushed up. I also upgraded the tent with a couple of 230mm CPU fans, delivering fresh CO2 rich air by pushing it in at the bottom and pulling the hot air out at the top.

I'm beginning to wonder if my EC/PPM meter is stil good. The reading is way too high... She's still growing at a phenomenal rate. Her shape is also something to look at!

The EC meter is still off I think.. I'll keep posting the readings but I doubt they are correct. Defoliation twice over a period of 2 weeks. Even though she's shifting to flowering, she doesn't top gaining width and hight.

More nutes, more love, more watching her grow. The amount of cola's on this lady is still amazing me. I can't wait for the end result. My goal is a 100 grams from this plant, and remember it's just my second grow. It's amzing how much you can screw up and still get some result. Even though i've made some critical errors with this one, I still think she's gonna be a killer.

So my dehumidifier broke. I ordered a new fan. I forgot to remember you need the exact amount of airflow through the condensor in order for dehumidification to work. I've bought some dollarshop bags with silica dioxide to get the relative humidity down as much a possible. One of the fun aspects of this grow is to get maximum results with almost zero budget. Besides the tent and the nutrients, everything is a DIY sollution. Growing steady, time to get the THC factory going!

Oops, too much nutes! I totally overlooked the leafs curling upwards at the tip. I don't have any choise but to start flushing. In 48 hours I'll give her GHE Ripen for the last stretch. And again, for a second grow, I'm learning so much. Luckily the community is awesome and you can research a lot by yourself. But at the and of the day, nothing beats experience. Let's hope the next ones will be even better with less mistakes. I am definatelly hooked on growing! Again, let me know what you think of this grow!

Week 16 day 4 report: Today I gave her 8 liters of plain pH'd water at 6,0. There's a notable difference every day, she's gaining a lot of weight by the looks of it. My goal of 100 grams of dried herb is looking to be within grasp. I also added some closeups of the trichromes. How many days do you guys think is left until harvest? Lemme know! Greets, DangerMouse Week 16 day 1 report: Not exactly week 15 but this is the last of the nutrition she's gonna get. After this it's just ph'd water at 5,8/6,0. I bought a new dehumidifier because my old one broke. Or so I think. I still have to test her with a hydrometer. But it's tank was empty after 16 hours of running so I think it's done for. Back to the plant. I can see her getting fatter every day. Her pistol hairs are still 95% thick and white. By the looks of it, she's still good for another two weeks of flowering. I'll post the exact amount of days and weeks in the journal of the harvest. For now, she looks ok, though a bit hurt and dry from the overfeeding of last week. Her cola's look healthy and I hope she's gonna be a monster when harvest comes. Greets, DangerMouse PS: sorry for the bad quality of the cola photo's. My camera really struggles with the reflective lining of the tent! 😅

Day 105. I do not have enough experience to tell if that is a long time to finish for an autoflower. 2 Days ago I added 8 liters of water pH'd at 5.9. I'm also curious of anyone knows if this strain produces amber colored thrichomes. I've read some stuff on the internet that certain strains produce almost none at all. I can't tell of people are telling the truth or I just should have more patience and wait for them to show up. The close-up pictures you see are from day 105. Almost all her sugar leafs are yellowish or completely yellow btw. I forgot to make recent pics of the cola's. I'll add some of day 103. On a sidenote, by the looks of it, the buds are still gaining some nice mass and density. Cheers, DangerMouse --------------- Day 107 ------------------- After 10 days of FloraRipen another batch of FloraKleen. I added pics of the trichomes and some buds. The runoff had an us/cm of 4500... Like I said before, my meter must be broken, right? After 48 hours of flushing I'll just change the water for pH'd at 5.9. Does anyone know what kind of bugs are in the runoff? The video is of the water that came out of the bucket. I've seen them before for did not capture them. The look a bit like springtails but does anyone know? There are none on the plant itself, just in the water. Let me know! Happy growing, DangerMouse

When you believe it's time to harvest, I do suggest you to put in 48h of total darkness, more trich will appear, bigger they will get, and some of them will go from clear to cloudy, and from cloudy to amber.

Pretty sure you will normally very true sativa strains will not amber or pink /purple strains quite hard to tell sometimes. But yours are still only about 50/50 cloudy so it may come in a couple of weeks. As soon as you see the first Amber you want to start flush and within a week or two they'll probably be what you're looking for. 🌱👍

Finaly she's ready. To be honest she has been ready for quite some time. I wanted to make a final report once the product had properly cured properly so the review included all steps necessary for a good smoke. So I made a big mistake by not giving her enough time to produce amber colored trichomes. I flushed too soon and she completely stopped in her tracks with growth. When I started to trim, she weighed in at 924 grams wet because there still were a lot of stems attached that I used for hanging. After hanging and a final trim she weighed in at 127 dry grams, not to bad for a first 'real' grow. Just like the previous grow without any lights, I learned a lot. the next one is even gonna be bigger, better, stronger and heavier.

Even though I made some big (rookie) mistakes, she's really forgiving and with the right care I'm sure she can grow out to be a proper monster. No bugs, mold, mildew or anything that was a reason for panic. I started flushing too soon and completely stopped her growth, a wise lesson. Because she was harvested a little too soon there is more of a head high instead of a body stone and depending on my mood I like it that way. She's supposed to be a heavy hitter but because of the early harvest she's a good companion during the day and will actually allow you to have a normal, fun conversation. So in conclusion, i'm pretty happy with 127 grams of harvest for a first proper grow using a self made 200W LED growlight and DWC setup. More plants will be grown, thats for sure. Thanks for reading and feel free to leave a comment! Happy growing, Danger.M

@DangerMouse,my goal is to get better each grow. I’ve been doing this 20+ years. Something my father taught me growing up. Outdoor of coarse. I try to learn something new every day. From what I see LST is a great way to increase yield. That’s the technique I’ve been using lately and it does seem to up my yields. One of the biggest lessons I learned this grow is to get my plants off the floor of the tent. My basement flooded causing me to over water in week 7. It’s been a constant fight to get back from that ever since. But they seem to be making it just fine. Happy growing bro!

@Experimentgreen, @RastaMouse, I've uploaded the original pics of the trichomes here: https://imgur.com/a/wXHgl8y The trichomes look like they are 75% milky. What do you think? Do they need to be even milky'er or is this the maximum opacity?

@Greeneyedgrower, thanks man! It's my first proper grow with a tent and lights. Even though she's a beast, I still made many mistakes on all kinds of fronts. The next one is gonna even be bigger, healthier and better! Currently I want to know if certain training techniques substantially add yield. So this grow there's only some defoliation and the tiniest amount of lollypopping. The next one is getting defoliation, LST and full Lollypopping. I did not remove any popcorn nugs this time. I counted visible 33 cola's just off one of the pics. Let's hope she's gonna crush my goal of 100 grams! Happy growing, DangerMouse

Well done mate! There are many colas! I have a couple of questions for you 😅 Do you have any air recirculation between inside/outside (or vice versa) of the growbox? It looks like she loves this light! 🌞 Wich type of lights are you using?

@DangerMouse, well done for DIY, this is the way!👊 I built myself my DWC system and lights, if you want to know more about it you can check the first week of my LSD grow 😉
DangerMouse
DangerMousecommented5 years ago
@CRK00, Thanks! There are two 230mm PC fans hooked to a 12V powersupply that runs everytime it gets above the temperature I have set on my inkbird ITC-308 wifi thermostat. The bottom fan pushes cold air in and the fan in the ceiling of the tent sucks the hot air out. I've used ducts as seen in week 4 where I mount the fan to the duct. If it looks stupid but it works, it aint stupid hahah 🙌. Once I'm moved, i'll get a bigger tent. This one is 60x60x170cm... Way too small for a DWC growth, if any.. I just don't have the space right now 😅 I've made my custom growlights using 4 cheap AliExpress 220V 50W COB LED's, CPU fans to mount them to, powersupplies for both 220V and the 12V CPU fans and some lenses. So there's a total of 200W of light blasting down on her. I have a lux meter and at 30cm from the canopy it measures 45K lux. Not too bad. For veg I used the 3500K version and for flowering the 370-780nm spectrum. Here's a link to the shop: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32720760568.html
