Lots of notes as tough start, especially to germination, tried wet paper towel in two plates in airing cupboard and propagator, stayed moist but struggled. I think the seeds were quite old as well. 1 yr since purchase. Tried same method with coffee filters and both seeds a success. Coffee filters provide more porosity for air to the seed. Kept light on 24 hrs for first couple of days due to cold outside temp. Slightly over the 20-25C range, also under the humidity range 65-70%, both because sharing with another plant at week 3 that needs those ranges, i instead sprayed with water to keep humid. Humidifier also on. SS started in small pot and transplanted to same soil by lining the bed, ensured the pots weren’t too moist and cut gently out of the pot to avoid disturbance to roots, also did just before dark period to avoid additional stress - success!
Temp within 22-29C range but humidity a bit lower than 55-60% range because sharing with another plant at week 5. Started to water a bit more and started LST. Also after 2 weeks of fresh water have started to add growth complex as plant bug enough. Continue to keep even PH. Started to see yellow spots on leaves, was either mould or calcium deficiency; didn't spread so likely to be Ca deficiency which nutrients should correct.
Temp within range 26-28C. Humidity lower than 50-55% due to sharing with other plant at wk 6. Plant still looks healthy. Increasing watering to 1-1.5 L per water, watering once every 2 days. Humidity during dark period is quite high so turned lights to 24hrs back end of week.
Kept within temp range of 20-26C. Humidity within range of 40-50% as started flowering stage. Maintaining good watering pattern. Have ‘lollipopped’ by defoliating lower branches to increase light exposure and left a canopy at the top to maintain good health. Have been careful to avoid damaging bud sites.
Have kept within range of 20-26C and 40-50%. Plants have really benefited from early LST and defoliation developing a short and fat christmas tree like stature with strong central cola and surrounded by good branches with bud sites reaching far down the stems. Trichromes have started to appear on the last day. Maintaining a good watering regime of 2L every 2 days. EC solution around 0.9 within range of 0.8-1.2. Next week will increase with more phosphorous.
Plants have really grown, especially the central colas. Purple buds are getting fat and sensi skunk is becoming abundant. Seen a calcium deficiency on SS and its has struggled a bit with wilting. Tested the EC and PH of the soil and that seems fine. Speaking to an expert there is low levels of Ca in the local water. Added mag-cal (also has nitrogen) and the plant seems to have perked up and improved colour.
Temp range 20-26C. Top end of temp range this week because closed 1 of 2 intake vents due to cold dark period and wanted the air to be drawn through the heater. Humidity range 40-50%. Maintained low humidity during light period and between 52-57% during dark due to cold and wet weather typically at 69%, heater seems to be doing the trick. Cal-Mag has increased EC to 1.5 which is above range of 0.8-1.2, consider reducing this within the range next week. Given a tip that the hesi phosphorous is a supplement so should be added every second water to avoid burning the tips. Monitor this.
Started to bulk out and smelling some sweet citrussy smells! Purple bud taking its form into a short fat indica. Sensi skunk growing taller and thinner, mass of buds growing well on both 😊
Temp range 20-26C. Kept within until moved tent to more confined area and has increased to 31C at times! finding ways of keeping it down. Although great for dark period as humidity is less and can take away heater.
EC at 1.15 within target range of 0.8-1.2. Alternating phosphorous supplement to one every second water. Keeping the cal-mag going, can see benefits with no spread of calcium deficiency.
Purple bud looking nice and fat and a bit more mature than sensi skunk; 70/30 clear/amber pistils with trichrome’s starting to cloud. Sensi skunk not far behind! with 90/10 clear/amber pistils with clear trichrome’s, the plant taking a taller thinner stature.
Need to keep day temp below 24C now (18-24). Started to maintain bloom and cal-mag nutes and alternate with phosphorous supplement. Volumes adjusted to keep within range of EC 0.8-1.0. Humidity 28% during day, 49% at night, not bad. Plants continue to fatten out 😊considering to water more regularly if humidity is lower than 30%
So far so good! For relaxed bud i’m going to start flushing once both plants have 50% amber pistils and/or 100% cloudy trichromes. Purple bud is at this point and Sensi Skunk at 30% amber pistils and 50% cloudy trichromes. Will continue with nutes another week for SS to catch up to then start the 2 week flush. Continuing nutes at EC 1.0. Temp a little high, patched up extractor leak to see if it drops the temp.
Well what can i say, bulked out really nicely, im chuffed :) waited patiently with another week of nutes, and started the flush on the final day. PB showing 70% amber pistils and milky tri’s. SS with 50% amber pistils and 90% cloudy tri’s - perfect start for the flush to get that portion of amber tri’s by harvest. Struggled with high temps at 28-29C but put the grow light higher and improved flow of fresh air incl changing lights on period to when the sun is facing away from the grow room, it has dropped the temp to around 25C. Happy days!
A week of flushing, its getting close to harvest! Good temps this week around 24C with the odd spike due to hot weather, and humidity 30-40%. Its smelling great. Beautiful thickand dense buds. Purple bud showing 80% amber pistils and 100% milky trichromes, some starting to grey out or turning amber. Sensi skunk not far behind with 60 % amber pistils and 100% cloudy trichromes turning milky. Just a few more days!
Final week of flush and fatten! Big dense buds, really proud of this grow. I wonder what will be on the scales. Both plants showing milky trichromes and 70-90% amber pistils. Drying time commences!
After drying i have just had a taste prior to the cure. I was going to update this log during the high but i was so blazed i couldnt 😂 Wow! So potent, tastes amazing and the most relaxed high with no negatives. Proud grower! She has a really pungent cheese smell and the buds are dense! 3.1oz dry yield.
Opted for a wet trim to remove all sun and sugar leaves because the buds are large and dense. Hanging with 50%RH @ 21C. Will update the diary once dried. And then one to a good smoke once it’s ready after curing.
An interesting journey with this one! We had a slow start in a small pot that needed to be transplanted with some backup soil. Starting out as the runt of the litter she has grown into an almighty plant that has been forgiving throughout. Just some TLC and cal-mag! The smell is herbal with citrus tones. Definitely an indica, with a pleasant body stone, no couch lock, no racing thoughts - just wonderful! Watch out for the munchies though! Last night i had the best meal of my life, tonight will probably be the same 😂
Opted for a wet trim as the buds are large and dense. Hanging with 50% RH @21C. Took some time to trim but worth it 😊 will keep me going for some time.
