Just started my first grow ever. I'm using a 18w blue/red grow light by TaoTronics during the first week and will change to a Phantom 1 LED by Optic LED in the second week. I use BioBizz Light Mix as soil, and will also be using BioBizz Grow, Bloom, and Top Max in the coming weeks as fertilizers. I'm growing it without a tent. Day 5; There has been no noticeable growth since day 3. I now placed it under a Mars Hydro TS 600 LED and added a humidity dome. I think that I might have overwatered it. I used a spray bottle and added around 100-200ml a day. I haven't watered it for two days now (day 5). Soil on top is starting to dry Day 6: Halfway through day 6 the top 2cms of the soil were completely dry, so I watered 100ml with a pH level of 6.0.

I'm already having a wet towel in my room 24/7, but I think it would be very beneficial if I could increase the air humidity around my plant to 60%+ (now at around 40%). Would it work to put a glass or plastic container on the plant until it has reached a certain development?

Definitely, that's exactly what I do. They are so delicate at this stage and need all the moisture they can get and absorb mostly through their leaves while the roots are still developing.

Day 8: Plant is definitely growing (although kind of slowly), but starting to show some deficiencies. This may be due to overwatering or actual deficiencies. Day 11: I started adding BioGrow at 0.4ml/l and am now feeding her small amounts of less than 100ml water per day Day 13: Still having the same yellow spots on the first set of fan leaves. Not sure where these are coming from, I'd be very thankful if someone could help me with this. So far, adding a low dose of BioGrow didn't do anything. Maybe it's stressed and the yellow spots are a result of too much light / wind? Day 14: I gave a little bit more water today (approx 300ml) because the soil on the side was bone drone for more than an inch. Also started using my new Phantom 1 LED from today and set it up at a height of 15'' (37.5cm). The plant looks a bit asymmetrical today, not sure where this is coming from.

Day 15: she's enjoying her new light, but the leaves still show several abnormalities. I tried to research it but I couldn't find a proper explanation, as most guides don't cover seedling stage. Could low room humidity be a reason? Nutrient deficiency? Please help! Day 16: I increased the room humidity as much as I could. The new set of fan leaves looks good, though the color seems a bit too bright. I'll start feeding her 1ml BioGrow per liter this week. Day 17: I think she's been growing nicely so far and the new set of leaves is looking great. Haven't watered for days and soil is starting to dry up, so I'll water and feed her tomorrow with runoff for the first time. Day 18: Seems like I overwatered the plant a bit. Originally I wanted to start with LST today, but I'll hold off for now and see how the plant deals with this. Day 19: Plant recovered and looks great again

Day 23: I fucked up. While I wasn't at home my ventilator accidentally fell onto my plant and cut off 2 leaves, a big and a small one. Day 25: Not much growth on day 24, but now it's starting to grow again. I watered and fed 1.25ml/l BioGrow today, Day 26: Plant recovered nicely. She seems to be enjoying the nutes. Right now she's preparing to enter flower stage, I noticed some small white hairs. I'll start using flowering nutrients in my next feeding session.

Day 37: She's a bit late with flowering, I hope that she goes into full flower this week. She's been stretching a lot last week and several colas reached the canopy, which is great. If flowering goes smoothly it could be a very decent yield for a 1 gallon pot. Also watered and fed today. I also think that I have a drainage and/or root problem. New leaves have yellow and/or curled tips (-> overfeeding problem?), and many leaves have their edges curled up (-> root problem?). The pot that I'm using is fairly small and only has a very small hole for drainage. I guess that root bound could block drainage even more, resulting in nutrient burn and light overwatering effects. Does anyone know if it is safe to drill additional holes into a terracotta pot? Day 41: I decided against planting her into a bigger pot, because I think that it might cause more harm than good at this critical stage. Watered and fed without BioGrow yesterday, let's see if this solves the nutrient burn

You will get some lighter green leafs off the newer growth they should be fine as the plants develops. As far as the curling I would suggest back off on the feeding nutes and just feed ph'd water for a couple times and see if it goes away. As far as the pot only having one hole for drainage if all possible make a few more you need to have proper drainage allowing the soil to dry and not get soggy at the bottom between feedings. Day 51: Watered and fed with 2.25ml/l both BioGrow and BioBloom + 1ml/l Top-Max. I noticed a lot of fungus gnats during the past 5 days. I'll get some yellow traps and hope that the plant can take it at this stage. Other than that she's still stretching a bit, now at almost 55cm. Room humidity is incredibly low right now, mostly between 35 and 37%. I think it might need 3-4 weeks from here, so not sure if that's too low for the moment. Day 55: The buds are growing a bit slower than I expected. I think this has mainly to do with the small pot size and changing light cycle (I had a few times differences between 30-60 mins in the past 10 days). I'm trying to keep the light schedule steady and hope that the buds are soon exploding as they should. Will also water today with 2.5ml/l BioGrow + BioBloom and 1ml/l TopMax Day 56: made some nice photos with a good camera. I finally discovered the reason for the burnt leave tips: it's not nute burn, but light burn. The highest leaves of my plant are getting brown edges and dots, which is seems to be common with LED light burn. The main cola also grew very close to the lamp (<25cm). Although the manufacturer claims that this distance is perfect for this stage, I heightened the lights to 35cm distance to avoid light burn

Day 59: Seems like she stopped stretching and is now focusing 100% on flowering. I increased the height of my light from 25cm to 35cm last week because the highest leaves were showing light burn. I'll leave it at this height this week and put it back to 30cm next, and then try 25cms again during the final weeks. Also increased nutrients today. Expecting harvest in roughly 4 weeks.

Day 68: Watered and few with 3ml/l each yesterday. Also moved her closer to the light, around 28cms distance now. I'm planning to harvest in about 3 weeks Day 69: Took her and made some news photos today. The leaves on her main cola are still becoming more and more purple. I'm not sure why, at first I thought it's LED light burn, but it continued even after I increased the light way higher than the manufacturer recommends at this point. Also might be a pH problem, although that is unlikely imo. Maybe someone has experience with that?

Day 71: The smell is pretty strong at this point and the buds are becoming very sticky. I dropped the lights to around 28cms last week. I'll further lower them at the end of this week, as I expect harvest in week 13 or 14. Also watered her today. I'll leave the nutrients at the current level throughout the week and increase to 4ml/l each for the final week before flushing. Day 73: She's packing on a lot of weight recently. The top leaves on the main cola got really purple by now. At first I assumed that it was light burn, but now I think it has actually to do with its genetics. I also checked the trichomes today; around 90% of the trichomes are still clear.

Day 93: I will finally harvest the day after tomorrow. The last two weeks before flushing didn't go perfect, as she developed Cu deficiency that I was never able to solve. As a result the riping process has been drastically slowed. Her trichomes are mostly cloudy by now, hopefully, 90%+ will be cloudy by Sunday. I'll update next week with harvest results and a list of learnings that I made during the past 15 weeks. Edit: I added some high quality photos that I took right before harvest on Sunday last week.

Ladies, this is it. Today I was finally able to buy a new scale and complete this diary. I harvested 2 weeks ago and the buds have been curing since then. My drying process took 6 days in total. Despite the Cu deficiency that my plant ran into in the past 3-4 weeks of flower, she still yielded 34+ grams. I consider this a huge success since I was only using a 1 gal pot. In addition, I grew her without a grow tent and thus wasn't able to provide the perfect environment. I harvested when the trichomes were mostly cloudy but not amber yet. As someone who doesn't like a couch lock at all, I'm absolutely loving the effects of my buds. The high also lasts fairly long, although I must admit that I'm not having a huge tolerance. In addition, the smoke is very pleasant, and it was even without curing at all. Obviously this was my first grow and I made a lot of mistakes. If you're reading this and are getting into growing, here are 3 major learnings that I made. 1. Make sure that you're using a good pot with the right size. For this strain, I'd recommend at least 7l pots, and I'd also use fabric pots instead of clay. 2. Have a hygrometer from day 1 and try to increase humidity as much as you can in the early days. 3. Use high quality soil and fertilizers. I decided to buy good organic stuff and my weed really tastes and smells awesome. Alright, I think that's it. Thanks again to everyone who helped me, love the community here. Feel free to ask questions if you have any. Until next time, TheMightyShark

hello dear, I think you can decrease the dose of biobizz biogrow and increase the dose of biobloom, but be careful, do not change the nutritional levels too much.. She looks good, c'mon bro :)
TheMightyShark
TheMightySharkcommented5 years ago
@@piritino, Btw i've considered your advice to increase the pot size but ultimately came to the conclusion that it would cause too much harm to change pots while an auto enters the flowering stage. I did some research and found out that the max. yield you can get out of a 1 gal pot is around 30g, which is more than I'd smoke in 6 months anyway. Hoping for 20g+ on this grow. That said, I'll definitely get much bigger (fabric) pots for my next grow.
TheMightyShark
TheMightySharkcommented5 years ago
@@piritino, Thanks :) I increased a little bit today to 2.25ml/l each, but I'm a little hesitant to go higher because some leave tips are still yellow. Not sure if this is really coming from the nutrients or something else. What was the maximum that you fed?

Looks good. I wouldn’t be to concerned at this point. The first growth foliage goes through such change so quickly that it can show any signs stress from light, temp, transplant ect.. If it continues with new growth, then I would concern myself with a ongoing issue. Good luck

What was your nutrient schedule up until this point? I have pretty much the same setup (Royal Dwarf in Light Mix with Biobizz grow and bloom). Im only at day 2 now and since a lot of people say you shouldnt over do it im wondering. Your girl looks great btw 💪

TheMightySharkcommented5 years ago
Hi @Leonard_Lunte, I usually fed her at 50%-75% of the official BioBizz nutrient schedule. Keep in mind that the first week of the official scheme is actually week 3, as they recommend to not feed at all in the first two weeks. Some leaves of my girl were and still are showing signs of nutrient burn. However, after observing her for several weeks and checking many other diaries, I came to the conclusion that those were most likely caused by LED light stress. Imo you can just feed 75% percent or less of the official schedule and you should be fine.

Really nice job. I have a Royal Dwarf too but she is only 3 days old now. I really hope to keep her height under control because I don't have much space. My goal would be doing exactly what you did, but keep everything on the same level. In your case even with LST you still have one cola that is way above everything else and I really can't afford it...I will have to keep everything around 35 cm, it will be a real challenge...the solution might be a scrog in the end, I don't know... In the worst case scenario I can always mount the filter outside the box gaining at least 20 cm more space, but I really hope I don't have to. Thank you for sharing your experience. It's really helpful.

MicroGcommented5 years ago
@TheMightyShark, thank you! I'm using a timer and I think I will keep 18 hours of light a day until the end. I might go to 16 hours if the plant is taking to long to start flowering, just to give her a push. I hope I don't need to go lower then 16 hours because of course in the long run it will means less yield. I'm already scared to do LST becouse it's 15 years since my last grow which was done with scrog, but I don't know if scrog will do the job in this case because I should do some topping at some point but folks suggest to not top an autoflowering strain because it has a short life cycle and recovering from topping takes time. Non the less i've seen lot of people topping their autoflowering without any problem. For sure topping should help a lot if the goal is having all the branches and buds at the same height, but in the end I don't know if I'm going to do it. I only hope it will not takes so much more then 8 weeks as it should because, as you said, lots of folks went way beyond the 8/9 weeks that this strain should take.
TheMightyShark
TheMightySharkcommented5 years ago
@MicroG, thanks for your comment, glad that my diary is helpful! Frankly said I think I did a very bad job with LST. I was scared to do something wrong because it was my first grow ever, so I only bent the main stem for 2 weeks or so. After the flowering stretch, however, the plant almost completely reversed my LST. I think if you do proper LST you can get a much much smaller plant. If you do a lot of LST I think 35cm can be possible, though it's definitely going to be a challenge. Also, my vegetative stage was fairly long for this strain. I'm 90% certain that this has something to do with changes in the light cycle. I switched the lights on/off manually when I woke up and went to bed, sometimes there was more than 1h discrepancy. @Pirinto did the same in his Royal Dwarf grow and his plant even took 9 weeks to flower. I have no idea if this is a reliable method to extend the vegetative stage of auto strains, but if it was, one could apply high stress training methods like topping to stimulate horizontal growth. But like I said, not sure if this is reliable, so take it with a grain of salt.

@The_Bearded_Grower, it was mostly between 15-16h since I did not use a timer socket and usually put on the lights shortly after I woke up (the plant is in my sleeping room btw). Definitely wouldn't recommend doing that, but since I'm not smoking much anyway (0.5g a week maybe), I decided to only buy a light, a small fan and biobizz soil + fertilizers. I harvested today and will update the results in 7-10 days
