Plants started week in individual5 gallon buckets because recirculating dwc system wasn't finished yet. It consisted of 5, 3.5 gallon buckets. 4 for plants and one as a reservior. Each bucket with a plant had a 4 inch ceramic air stone. All 4 air stones were supplied by a hydrofarm air pump. I'm not sure the wattage.
Day 1- Transplanted seedling from solo cups of coco courses to 6 inch net pots filled with grow stones. Rinsed coco from roots with water to remove coco from roots. Then stabilized grodan and filled with rocks. I had rinsed rocks well and soaked them in 5.5 pH reverse osmosis water for 24 hours. The plants then went in 5 gallon buckets with 4 gallons of RO water pH to 5.7, didn't add any nutrients.
Day 2- pH jumped to 7.2. Added Advanced Nutrients master grow recipe. 15ml a & b and 7.5 b-52, bud candy, voodoo juice, piranha, & tarantula. Put frozen bottles of water in buckets to keep solution cool. Plants look awesome.
Day 3- Recirculating system ready. Consists of 5, 3 1/2 gallon buckets. 4 for plants and one for a reservior. Takes 13 gallons of water. Filled with water and nutrients and moved plants.
Day 4- plants are looking beautiful. Adjusted pH from 7.2 and added 1/2 strength nutrients due to lowered ppm.
Day 5- ppm 491 and pH 6.2. Added 3/8 strength nutrients. Topped for the first time.
Day 6- Topped plants.
Day 7- ph adjusted from 6.9. Ppm 900
Day 8- Reservior change. System held 9 gallons this time. Week 2 nutrients added. 68ml a & b & 34ml b-52, voodoo juice, piranha, tarantula, & & bud candy. Week 2 also adds rhino skin and sensizym, 34ml of them were added as well. I have been doing research on dwc growing and discovered calcium and magnesium (cal-mag) is crucial when growing using hydroponics. It's a macro nutrient usually absorbed from soil. Hydroponic plants depend on nutrients supplied to them. Cal-mag should be added every reservoir change using reverse osmosis water, because the process removes all minerals from the water. So, I added Advanced Nutrients Cal-Mag to my supplimental nutrients and will use the same amount as the others when doing reservior changes. So, 49ml of cal-mag went in as well. pH is 6.2 and ppm is 900.
Day 9- ppm 669 ph 6. Plants look good and healthy.
Day 10- ph is 6.5 and ppm is 450. 2 plants are taller than the other 2. I guess it's due to proximity to light. All plants are bushy with tight nodes. Very healthy.
Day 13- Plants are growing inches daily, are wide, and extremely healthy
Day 14- Plants are growing at least an inch per day. Roots are bright white long and healthy. They look like bleach blonde hair. Recovery from topping is quick. Only about 2 more weeks in veg depending on how tall plants get. Temperature has been very good and stable due to clip on fans, but especially due to Honeywell circulation fan and squirrel fan where tent exhaust. It exhaust in the closet right beside the tent in the same room. We plan on adding duct across closet into a damper that will empty into the laundry room. I think this will help with temperatures in the coming months and increase growth because plants will get more fresh air, rather than recirculating the same air in the room.
Da8y 15- Reservoir change. 8 gallons RO water. 90ml a & b, 45ml bud candy, B-52, piranha, tarantula, voodoo juice, sensizym, rhino skin, and cal-mag. Plants are 2 from tall. Some are still taller than others.
Day 18- pH 6.5 ppm 1352 humidity 50% Air temp 77 water temp 73.4
Day 20- nutrient water change today. switching from 18/6 to 12/12 light schedule. added 8000 btu to bathroom. continue veg week 4 feeding until signs of flowering per instructions from advanced nutrients. Fed 120ml of sensi grow a & b, 60ml piranha, 60ml tarantula, 60ml b-52, and 60ml of bud candy. Roots look beautiful. some have grown to air stones and through circulation hoses. Going to research root pruning.
Day 24- Day 4 of 12/12 light. they are already beginning to change into bud mode. they are pretty and healthy. big ass fan leaves and thick stems and branched. changing to bud nutrients next water change (Monday). thinking about buying two 50w led warm white flood lights to help "correct" light spectrum. I read online today adding them has a profound benefit when blooming. They are light weight and easy to mount in several different positions in grow tent. also going to swap one of my viparspectra 300 with the viparspectra 450. it can be set to different light colors(blue (veg), purple (full spectrum), and red (bloom).
Day 25- ph 6.2 ppm 1734
Day 27- getting big as he'll since switch to 12/12. power went out last night and they lost about 3 hours of light. going to switch one of 300w to a 450w that has veg/bloom/full spectrum. 100w red led bulb and clamp on reflector should be in the mail tomorrow going to add it as well.
