Week 1 Notes:
Planted seed directly into final pot
Going to be a short bushy plant.
Experienced some light issues with a bad LED may develop some stretching since it went outside to get light for a light cycle or two.
Ocean forest soil
General organics nutes (not until week 4/5)
Week 2 Notes:
New growth; just finishing the seedling stage.
Weird leaf growth and some stretching developed. Moved light closer; hopefully the light strength does not become an issue.
Week 3 notes:
Finally towards the end of the week experiencing some faster growth. Had to be careful not overwatering but also keeping the soil moist to prevent it from breaking down. Still holding off on nutes.
Week 4 Notes:
Lots of new growth. Starting to water more frequently. Still since I'm using FF with perlite I'm holding off the urge.
New additions to the room: dehumidifier to keep room humidity down since it's a basement grow. Added exhaust fan and carbon filter. May purchase a bigger tent and use small tent for veg only.
Week 5 notes:
Started nutrient line. Not sure if new fast green growth was related to the new stable environment but I moved the plant to a 5x5x8 tent with the same 600w LED. Allowed me to put dehumidifier in tent so I don't have to worry about the entire basement. Got about 60 pints out in 24 hours.
Week 1 flowering notes:
Experimented with 24 hours of darkness between veg/flower. Heard varying opinions but wanted to if it made a difference. Glad to see that the feminized seed was as advertised as the sex of the plant was shown. Trying to figure out best light distance but no yellowing so far. Also haven't dealt with any bugs or other contaminants. Alittle worried about the temp going down as I live in a place with a solid winter. Hasn't dropped below 62 but still may negatively impact yield. We'll see.
Week 2 flowering notes:
Feeding every other water which is just about every 3 days or so. Watering a.75 gallons each time. Although it's a five gallon pot I think I skimped on the soil so it's doesn't need the full gallon. Tested runoff and it was ph7.0.
Week 3 flowering notes:
Flowers really starting to emerge nicely. Dealing with temp drops since winter is coming. Up to about a gallon of water every 3 days, and rotating nutes every other water. This is a fast fem seed so close to halfway through flower. Crystals are emerging on and around buds and smell is increasing in intensity daily. Smells great though!
Plant has slowed down growth of fan leaves and now concentrating all energy into flowering. The smell is really starting to take over, and the trics are developing nicely. still watering every 2-3 days and feeding every other water.
Seed says it will be ready to harvest and 6-7 weeks(total) as I'm already at week 5 I've decided to cut off nutrients and just flush. Obviously you can see the effects of not pruning and traing by the size and adbundance of buds. But I think it was worth it to get a good idea of how the plant grows and a baseline metric of yield. Top fan leaves are starting to yellow alittle which i believe at this point is normal. No other issues that I can see at the moment.
Day 45. Realizing that the flower still needs a couple more weeks (fast flower: breeder says 42-49 days) took the advice of a fellow grower and decided to add some compost tea into the grow to keep the plant alive as long as possible without issue. Everything seems well so far. Had to use the walls of the tent to keep a couple branches from flopping over as the density has really developed over the last few days. Eveything
Not much has changed over the week. Battling lower temps since winter is in full swing. Lower buds still have more maturing to do but top one looks ready to go. I lowered humidity in the room a bit since I plan on harvesting in the next week or so.
Ended up being about 6 weeks of veg and 8 weeks of flowering. During the vegetation stage the initial grow was alittle slow as I was still building the grow room. Ready for my next ones when the temps outside return to a manageable level.
