Back after a long absence. Didn't post last grow because it was during long, frequent power outages. Both seeds sprouted same time and are, at least at the moment, synchronized. Looking to keep it that way. Off to a good start 👍
One day late on the post, but wanted to wait until they were transplanted. Switching back to two 3-Gal containers since it fits my tent better than 5-Gal containers. My last grows were experimenting with 5-gal containers in my flower tent and with 2 it was overcrowded, one 5-gal container fits pretty well but I prefer to have to 2 plants.
So, back to my original two 3-gal method. Waiting a few days for them to get settled into their new containers and then will be topping/LST soon.
Topped at the 4th node and cleared everything below the 3rd node. I prefer to top at the 5th node, but since I don't know how tall this strain gets I'm keeping it short.
Put them into the flower tent under the LED light with 12/12 schedule. Started the week with the light about 24-25 inches above the plant and lowered to 20 inches by the end of the week to help it ease into the increased intensity and spectrum of the LED light. Still counting this week as veg since it hasn't started showing signs of flowering yet. Curious about how much this strain will stretch since it doesn't seem like its started to stretch yet.
Finally starting to see some signs of flower this week so counting this as the first week of flower. Still doesn't seem to be stretching too aggressively, should be a real nice fit for the tent.
Bud sites are starting to fatten, also seeing some trichome production. I should have taken before photo's, but I did some significant defoliation this week. I'm sticking to a 1-3-5 week schedule for defoliation, so this was the 3rd week defoliation.
Did the final defoliation this week, so now just coasting till harvest. Starting to look like its getting close to finishing, will probably start flushing in a week or 2.
I just flowered one of these ladies. In week 3 I took off some lower branches and narf. It Hermied out without me noticing. Just the lowest branches and only the buds closest to the main stem. This was my first ever run with her, so maybe I did something else wrong too, but you know, heads up homie 🙂. Just in case. They look fantastic though, awesome!
@TheToaster, one of the main reasons I'm working on switching my genetics from feminized to regulars that I pull females from. I think fem seeds have a higher probability of herms. Good luck, I'm excited to see what you get for sure!
@Mongo28, You know I actually had the same experience with other strains from this seed bank. It seemed to only herm on the branches I defoliated, so I thought it was maybe defoliation stress. This is my first time growing C99, and so far it's not herming at all. Your comment reminded me to check again, but so far so good 👍. I feel like I did a much better job with this C99 transitioning it from veg tent to flower tent and easing it into the much more powerful flowering light which could be a factor.
