Rheaun First grow here in 3.5 gallons soilless media [see pic] using 5 gal Vivosun felt planters (extra planter rim material is rolled up). Growing two plants, first one was to be grown in a 5 gallon bubbler DWC as a single expirement grow but quickly changed. So the seeds are started about a week a apart. Each seed soaked (100ml RO Water, 1ml B-52) for 24 hours and tranferred into folded paper towel for about another 24 hours, when the taproot is 1/4 inch long planted directly to medium; the first seed was taken out of the rockwool in DWC in week one. Environment at 26 celsius and 65 RH with minimal airflow and 24 hour light for week one.

Rheaun Using ZeroFilter water and Foliar Spray 2ml/L B-52 Watering with nutrients every 48 hours 2-2.5L each since end of week 1 where they were planted in 3 gallons of soilless in 5 gallon Vivosun felt pots. Some issues made it I started seeds one week apart unfortunately. Have two plants one week apart so doing early LST on one and letting the later one grow early in veg. Am going to lay a SCROG net and if second one is needed above the first net; it's my first grow. My setup allows for convenient placement of first net at 6 inches above base of plants. Height is limited in my tent so expect to either LST or even try HST on the later one once it reaches the net which I will lay in week 4, as the plants reach it in height. By doing early LST on the earlier seed they will sort of even out in height.

Rheaun Waited 72 hours between mid-week watering using ZeroFilter water and always with nutrients as well as Foliar Spray two times a day with 2ml/L B-52 About ready to put the net as they're reaching the 6" now. Easy Bud grows higher than my tent allows so they both need to be trained but not sure how it'll look on the later plant once I let it grow some more nodes...

Rheaunstarted grow question 5y ago
According to the plant in pics called "HST on the later seedling" what growth should I expect in this situation since I haven't topped the plant on this scrog? Please note the plant height would otherwise outgrow my tent.

Welcome to GD. Let me help you here. You are currently doing LST (low stress training) with a SCROG net. SCROG stands for screen of green. The idea is to keep your canopy even and have the plants spreader evenly as possible without compromising much of vertical growth, HST (high stress training) is more stress to the plants, especially auto flowers, because you are snapping branches to reshape them and also trying to save vertical growth too. As long as you keep your plants tucked under your SCROG net, it will spread evenly and then eventually flower itself. Once it goes through the stretch phase right before budding phase, you don’t worry about LST anymore because then it will only focus on budding. I hope this helps!

Rheaun Feb 18 mid-week 5 tucking along under scrog. My scrog net is oversized at 4" gaps. First grow hands on learning the ropes of LST, HST, scrog weaving and tying. Snapped 3 stems, one of which was saved and possibly saving another but lost one. Defoliated earlier seedling mid-week and a few more here and there while training the plant. Foliar 2ml/L B-52 - Watering every 60-72 hours, 2.5L each with RO+nutrients. Switched MH light from 400 watt to 600 watt. Using Vivosun Digital Dimmable 600w

Rheaun Switched to 600 watt HPS, left at roughly 18" from the scrog canopy as was the 600 watt MH in last week of veg. Plants were now strecthing and pushing up the net. Removed the scrog net. Topped felt pots as medium compacted and plenty of roots close to surface. Cut the Grow nutrients out this week and re-introduced some Voodoo juice after one week pause. Bloom Nutrients raised to 2ml/L and introduced 2ml/L BigBud leading into week 8. Feeding each plant 2L+Nutrients every 48H and 1L Plain Water in between. Foliar feeding the B-52 but not as much as was done in veg twice a day and now spraying around the forming buds.

Rheaun Removed the scrog net last week as the plants were pushing up on it. Stopped doing plain water in between feeding since I noticed apparent PH stress in some leaves. Raised lights about 4" since top leaf edges were starting to curl up. I cut Voodoo Juice from watering feed this week and re-introduced B-52. Introduced BigBud in week 7 when removed scrog net; leaves started pointing up and branches got closer together. The buds are fattening nicely so not worrying about it and only doing light foliar spraying when watering. They are taking about 2 liters feed each daily now.

Rheaun Starting week 9 I did a watering to 10% runoff which was about 1.5 liters mix containing 1.5ml/L Enzymes Komplete and half a tablespoon of pure Quebec Maple Syrup. 12 hours after watering with Enzymes Komplete and Maple Syrup I followed up with regular week 9 feeding at 2ml/L each Bloom A and B, 2ml/L Big Bud and 1.5ml/L B-52. Flower is growing every day. Also have started R.Q.S. Speedy Chile seed in my seedling cabinet; diary to follow. Mid-week: Did another enzyme watering on both mid-week and since one is about one week ahead I am now cutting Big Bug on that on one and considering starting to flush it next week. Leaf issue has developped I think it's magnesium deficiency and not worrying much about it this grow as buds are fattening well.

Does the leaf issue shown in the pics possibly come from magnesium deficiency, should I trim the larger affected leaves now?

@Rheaun hi mate I'd look at raising that humidity a little and its definately not magnesium more than likely its ph related calcium deficient

Rheaun Flushing both with RO water now and I've used 1.5ml/L Enzymes Komplete three days apart in the water. Good time to mention the water is aerated for at least 24 hours before mixing and while mixing/sitting for a few hours. Snipped a few buds from the older plant mid-week for research; to try a curing method. 😻I've made a form of charas by rubbing a '1 1/4 rolling paper' on sugar leaves. Thursday PM start of 'dark period' before harvest.

Rheaun First grow under my belt and looks like at least an ounce per plant. Aggresive defoliation and short height training made for only a few frams of popcorn. Started off with extremely low humidity also stunted it somewhat by breaking three stems and keeping it short with LST/Scrog training and defoliation. I see I can tweak my scrog method by encouraging more horizontal growth vs keeping it short and having tighter netting or using bamboo instead to keep the spacing of the colas.

No pH nor feeding strength data, so I can't say for sure. Those curled edges could be wind burn or pH related. I would meassure pH and EC / PPM levels (both in and run out) before saying anything aout deficiencies. It looks like calcium deficiency, but it could be a lock out too, excess P or K, gives lockout of calcium and magnesium. Removing the leaves will achieve nothing.
