Week 1 was fun took a little over 3 days for seeds to germinate I was a bit worried at first, but it's all good! Put em in some Happy frog soil and a few days later under 2- 23w/100w replacement CFLs they popped just fine.
so there was a bit of yellowing on the initial baby leaves that popped, but I assume that was because I wasn't PHing properly. Other then that I'm really happy with how they look right now! still under 24 hr light cheap CFLs looking to upgrade to better CFLS or an LED for deeper in veg stage and start going with the 18hr light soon but for now just working with what I got! I'll leave it on 24hrs for now until I get better lights. Also introduced them to nutrients finally and they're loving it ! Flora trio series and Calmag FTW right now!
Transplanted to 3gallon on 2-18 gave them a few days to recover and then started my mainlining process. I'm growing these girls in a 2x3x4.5 perpetual harvest tent so mainlining/manifolding was something that really interested me for my space to get the most out of these plants. As we can see they were looking great with about 5-6 nodes so I took em down to the 3rd node and stripped her clean with the exception of the big fan leaves to help with recovery although in the future those might be getting snipped too. They're look great and cant wait to see what they recover like! Almost used a whole gallon on these girls now that they're in a 3 gallon so happy to see them eating more..
Going into this week was a pleasure. Got up the nutrients and witness my girls recover very nicely from the first topping and the new main stems were growing strong and long enough to finally be pull down and start the training. There was clear signs of new node growth so it was time for our 2nd top to create 4 total tops per plant. Just when they were looking beautiful again here we go about to top again :(....It's all good though, it'll all be worth it because we already know our girls recover nicely after a little stress and we're aiming for one more top to get 8 total colas and a nice bushy wide canopy. I also finally got my hands on some silica which I figure is a good move considering I'm topping 3 times and training a lot during this mainlining process. Its important I grow strong stems to support the wide canopy and 8 colas as well as receiving all the other great benefits of pest control etc..I also finally added a clip fan which surprisingly boosted my humidity and will do great in aiding stronger stems as well as environmental control. a few plant props and twist ties helped me start the mainline and training. We want the first tie down to be like a nice 90 degrees so our new tops can grow up toward the sky and we can control and even out our canopy as we go...
