UnknownError First real grow
Trying to dial in the important conditions while not obsessing over smaller details
3 gallon fabric pot
Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil
Cinched up duct openings in tent to increase humidity level
Set the Mars Hydro TS1000 light at 30”
Germination
Prep:
Watered soil until draining out the sides and bottom of pot and into a plastic tray.
Day 1:
Planted seed directly in soil. Placed an upside-down plastic tray on top to keep humidity in but allow fresh air
Day 2:
Noticed that soil was very dry, much quicker with fabric pots than with regular pots. Watered and misted. Temperature was dipping to 63 F at night.
Day 3:
Gave it another misting. Tray is still keeping humidity in. Getting nervous because I’m not seeing anything pop up. Should I have germinated in a paper towel? Maybe I could have micromanaged germination but I decided to let nature do her thing.
Day 4:
Beginning to pop up with seed casing still on, misted, left tray cover for humidity.
Vegetation
Day 1:
Plastic tray removed from top.Looking perfect except part of the the seed shell is still hanging on to a cotyledon. Going to leave that alone for now. Started up fan to improve air circulation. Stem is looking purplish.
Day 2:
Part of seed shell still stuck. Won't budge. Stretching a little bit so I lowered the light to 28" away. Plant is 1.25" tall.
Day 4
Lowered lights to 26"
Day 6
Watered 1500mL. Soil stayed moist between watering, feels like it took awhile to dry. Perhaps I should have mixed some perlite with the soil to improve drainage? Partial seed casing finally came off the cotyledon.
Day 7 - End of week 1 (!)
Steady as she goes! My only concern is that one of the leaves looks like it might be starting to curl up. If this becomes more pronounced I might have to raise the lights back up a bit.

UnknownError Day 29 - LST to bring plant height down
Day 30 - Watered 1/2 with strength nutrients, 1.0 L, runoff 6.4 pH
Day 31 - Little bit of TLC and LST, really noticing the purple coming out!
Day 33 - Watered 2.0 L, no nutrients, lowered light to 16"
Day 34 - Lights back to 18", 16" may be too low for the Mars TS1000
Day 35 - picture day, light defoliation at the bottom, plants are at 14" tall
The leaves on the plant are beginning to go light green. Then I noticed this leaf with an unusual spots on it. I’ve been responsible with the nutrients. Hopefully this leaf isn’t suffering. I’ve moved the lights up a few inches to be safe.
Hey @ UnknownError!
¿Did you apply any foliar spray? If you did, maybe some drops stayed on the leave causing little burning points.
If not, It could be a boron deficiency. But is so unlikely to have a deficiency of this time.
UnknownError Day 37 - Defoliate towards the bottom, large light green fan leaves and small bud sites, watered 2L with half-strength nutrients, runoff pH6.1
Day 38 - Noticed some minor deficiencies in some leaves and also some light stress, plant grew to 15.5" tall, lights were at 16" away so I raised them to 18" away, this reduced signs of light stress a few days later
Day 39 - noticed first brown pistil
Day 41 - Watered with filtered tap water, 2L, runoff is pH 6.9 so I will need to reduce pH of water going in
Day 42 - A little more smell, colas are thickening up nicely!

UnknownError This was the week where things started getting fat & a lil' frosty!
Day 44 - Leaves are starting to yellow. Watered 2L with 3/4-strength nutrients. Check pH runoff, 6.3. 16" tall.
Day 45 - I was rearranging plants and inadvertently got my arm all sticky! Didn't know that it would be sticky this early. Better look out next time.
Day 47 - Watered 2L no nutrients. pH meter not working right.
Day 48 - 16.5" tall. Some brown pistils, Buds are covered in wonderful trichomes, half clear and half milky white. This plant is gorgeous and she'll be ready soon enough!

UnknownError I have to say that despite the excitement from being so close to chop, this was perhaps the most uneventful week of the grow besides the plant becoming a lot more thirsty and the buds getting fatter. Same height, same amount of milky/clear trichomes and no amber ones. Very few pistils turned brown. Humidity could be lower but not stressing over it.
Day 50 - Watered 2L half strength nutrients. This will be the last watering with nutrients
pH water before nutrients 8.5
pH water after nutrients 6.5
pH runoff 6.5
Day 52 - Watered 2L no nutrients but used pH down to make water pH 6.5
Day 54 - Same. Watered 2L no nutrients but used pH down to make water pH 6.5
Day 56 - Same. Watered 2L no nutrients but used pH down to make water pH 6.5

UnknownError Day 58 - no amber trichrome heads but some of them have a purple stalk. I can't tell if thats because they are purple but more likely they are reflecting the nearby purple leaves. Also noticed some stress from wind and light.
Day 60 - Watered 2L no nutrients
Day 63 - about 17' tall, Watered 2L no nutrients
Chop time is coming!

UnknownError Days 71-78
No matter how much I beg, stomp my feet and get blue in the face, still can't get the amber trichromes to show up. Mostly cloudy now with some clear. Checking every day
Buds looks a little fatter.
Watered no nutrients.
Still learning how to use a macro lens.
I wish I had more content to provide.
This is the most fruitiest berryiest, perfumeiest darkest purplest buds that i or any if my comrades have ever laid eyes on. Mind you this is my first grow. This was particualry not difficult being my first one, and no sign of disease ever throughout the process. It didn't develop all of the brown trichromes I was looking for, but it had some and the brown was starting to crep up to the buds so it had to be chopped on day 84 from seed. as i cut off the buds and laid them in the tray, I was getting globs of gooey gunk. took one week of drying. AFter about two weeks of curing it finally developed a good taste. four weeks cure is just freaking incredible. I had fun experimenting with different washes and extracts. Wish I could share it with the world! Definitely going to turn some heads with these flowers if you bust this out, fair warning. I'm done talking about it time to go over these pictures. Disclaimer...I went overboard on photos

UnknownError I did research for my first grow and with basic-level knowledge this alien-world plant was easy grow. As soon as it peaked in height, around the second week of flower, it was on auto pilot. I'm impressed with these genetics and I want to grow this again sometime soon.
@ichimaru,
After doing more research and checking out what I have going on, I believe you are correct. I'm going to give it another two weeks before chop, keeping a close eye on the trichromes. I got my seeds through North Atlantic Seed Company. I tried to order through Fast Buds but they wouldn't deliver to to US even though I am in a legal state. I finally managed to get an order in through Seedsman for my next round but I haven't received them yet. They should be here soon though.
@TheReaper,even though there are hardly any amber trichromes? I want to cop so bad but I was waiting for the amber to show up. I thought it would be ready by now.
@Euphory, Thank you! I still can’t believe how weird and wonderful these flowers are. Sitting pretty in jars right now and every time I open the jar burp them, I can’t help but be like WTF these are so fragrant.
@Reaper, thank you! I didn’t want to chop but the nutrients were running out as you mentioned. The nutrient I was using I’m not sure if I was using the wrong kind meant for hydroponics or what. I didn’t have as many amber trichromes as I would have liked but the buds would have went from alien purple-black to dead light brown.
@Joegrows, highly recommended! This was a hearty plant, easy grow with out-of-this-world results! I’ll definitely come back to this one at some point. Make some of that purple extract 😁
@TheReaper, yes! Day 21 from sprout the first pistils were showing. Now there’s huge colas getting fatter by the day. I hope this translates into a good yield & smoke. So far these are looking very healthy very quick!
Hey there,
Thanks so much for running a diary of our genetics 🙌
Let us know if you need any assistance, we’re more than happy to help.
Happy Growing !!! 🌱 ☘️ 🌴 🍀 🌿 🌳
Did you say it was your first grow? Sure had me fooled ;) Looks fantastic my friend. Absolute beauty of a plant. Congratulations and enjoy the smoke. Best of luck on your future grows. I'm gonna keep an eye out 👍
@Treighfunky,Thank you! Yeah my first grow but I did the research on growing and genetics first. Also put in the patience and capital (thank you quarantine) to do it right the first time. I have another round going of different autoflowers but I haven’t started an online diary yet it’s just notes right now.
If you are struggling with what nutes to give and are using Advanced nutrients they have an app "budlabs" that tells you what to give and when. Hope this is helpful. Also fast buds tend to say 9-10 weeks and they mean seed to crop, it normally takes mine around 11 or 12 weeks though
