I've been top dressing and making tea since these 3 -10 gal. Bags after initial reamending for about one month. Also one more bag that's of all new been cooking for two months with a larger variety of amendments. They all have Wiggler's and cover crop. I've decided to try using bokashi only for top dressing along with compost tea,and Mammoth p for watering with one fresh water every ten days. I've never started and finished in the same bag so this is a first. I have misting twice a day the first week. I have a new light similar to hlg qb's by (Hygrow lighting) it's a 600 rspec and dimmable. I ran at 150 umols until plants came up and turned them up to 300 umols and just seeing how they handle that. Using exhale bags they do seem to make a difference.

8 day old seedlings in living soil. They have little white spots on their first set of leaves. Any ideas of what could be going on? All 4 seedlings have spots. I treated them with Mammoth bio-control.

This looks like little burn spots. Are you misting them with the lights on? Those LEDs put out a crazy amount of power and they look pretty close to the plants. I run my LEDs full power but always keep them at least 36 inches from the plants. If you mist them or spill nutrients on them then the light magnifies the droplets and can burn the plants. I am personally anti-foliar feeding. There really isn't much benefit of spraying your plants as long as you have good quality nutrients and an adequate grow medium. The roots do a great job if they are healthy. Raising your lights higher, feeding your roots properly, and making sure you are in range on pH will improve the happiness of your plants 100%. I would also check the plants closely for tiny insect pest with a magnifying glass just to be on the safe side. They usually attack the lower side of the leaves. Little bugs can cause similar damage. Good luck with your grow!

I would say bad week, but it was me that failed in not keeping up with IPM in my dirt when I wasn't growing. So I started by taking the plants out of the ten gals. and in cups. I felt like the Wiggler's were keeping the soil too loose for seedlings. I usually graduate twice and felt like I could deal with the bugs better anyway. So I first foliar sprayed Mammoth bio-control and neem meal on top the soil. Two days later I drenched the soil in Nuke- em organic wash by flying skull. Then because there only 2 leaves on each one. Btw found what looked to be translucent round eggs under a 60x active eye and found some kind of mite. I sprayed the plants on the back front and sideway with a Chapin sprayer, then rechecked and couldn't find anything. They don't look great and I won't wait long to nix them if I think they're stunted. Today I'll treat the 10 gals. with a neem oil ,yucca, and water bubble long enough to emulsify and drench then top it with diatomaceous earth. I need to do a recheck on the plants for eggs too. They look a bit damaged so im not sure if I will neem spray or not on the plants. I'm running 300 ppf of light at 18" but I'm not sure if that's too much?

This week I've made several changes. I gave them a neem and karanja meal bubble and treated everything baveria bassiana. Sitting the one gals. inside the tens they weren't draining. I'm not generally a ph checker but I have this week and as usual it's neutral. Hopefully I have given them a chance to take off now. The plant in my newest soil recipe is the one growing the best.

On this week I completely abandoned my living soil because the pots are too small for it,and was having trouble with the soil being too loose,so much that the plants wouldn't stand. I also believe that the Wiggler's and cover crop were eating nutrients. Hopefully all this transplanting and any other stupid stuff hasn't stunted them.

In this week just basic watering, and a beauveria bassiana treatment. Trying to let them get settled after transplanting. Hopefully they will take off now even though I'm pretty sure they are at least partially stunted. They should be much bigger I would think at this point.

Started some LST this week, I'm not doing a lot of anything now other than watering with a little recharge or an IPM treatment just in the interest of no more stress. They are responding I'm kind of glad that they're getting started flowering this late so they'll get bigger. Crazy amount of tops on these plants without topping and just a small amount of LST. I'm running my light 22" now, I felt it was too close the tips are looking a little damaged. I'm not sure if I'm running them to hot though at 20 hours per day and approx 600ppf equals around a 50 DLI please correct me if I'm wrong or if that's too much. I do have extra co2 but not regulated.

Been a good week of growth. I'm very happy that the flowers aren't coming on as fast as I expected. I have one that is just now starting to flower, the rest have been for a while. I've had a problem with too much light, yellow tips, and some twisted new growth but it's all going away now. The last time I had twisted new growth it was broad mites not this time though. I moved the light up a little that seems to be working. They're starting to have a little spicy fruit smell. I like to bottom water about every two weeks so I did that, and give them a defoliation. I usually take anything that doesn't get much light ,and thin the middle some they always respond very well to it.

Nothing much to report, the girls are growing fast. They stretched too much over the week except one it's fat and compact. After the first couple of weeks and multiple screw ups, I'm surprised they're doing so well. They need defoliation again.

It was like I wasn't here, actually because I wasn't as I am essential personnel to this crazy time. They got too dry and had too much leaf. I did a good defoliation and a good watering this morning. I do have some kind leaf miners of some kind but not sure what to do at this stage I wouldn't spray anything on them, but don't know what to do. Until next week happy growing!

The week started with the AC taking a dump,so I've been battling the temp the highest I've seen was 88F but staying in the low 80's during the day and night hasn't been a problem in the low to mid 70's. My 4 hours of lights out time is mid day so it hasn't been a big problem. This week I discovered a large spider mite infestation, so I started by defoliating all the shade leaves and most effected leaves. I disinfected the tent and the room with a vinegar and peroxide mix. I've never used predator mites before but thought I'd try them ,so I first got neoseiulus californicus and the next day got Phytoseiulus persimilis. I didn't know exactly what to do with them so I dumped the californicus in the soil,so then I have the idiot idea to sprinkle them all over the top for better coverage without thinking about all that saw dust getting stuck in the trichomes. I had to try and fix that disaster, so I mixed up EM-1 and water in a Chapin sprayer and started washing leaves buds and all. So I wasted those mites but provided a big knock down on the spider mites. Once I got them as clean as possible and dried out I added Phytoseiulus persimilis. It remains to be seen if they work or not but I dumped 2000 of them on plates at the plant base with the sawdust. I'm not big on spraying anything on my plants during flower but had to fix my mess. I have a product called Nuke-Em by flying skull they advertise you can use during flower but I haven't and only will if I still have spider mites in a week. They don't look too bad for all of the adversity. Until week 11 happy growing!

The week started with me destroying a spider mite infestation. I used Nuke-Em by flying skull, main ingredients are potassium sorbate and citric acid. It worked great. I can't find spider mite anywhere. None of the girls look great, but are fattening up slowly. One plant, the tallest one is nitrogen deficient the buds aren't hardened yet and has not much smell. Two of them smell strong like tangerine and spices, and the short fat one has a deep skunk smell, all the same strain but so different, btw don't know if this has anything to do with the way the short fat one is growing, but it's in a different soil I'm using double the volcanic mineral that I normally would use. All of them have been having too much light. I'm trying to stay around 50 dli but I've had too many problems to turn the lights up that much. Right now I'm running between 500- 600 micromoles. I'm making a compost tea with Oly mountain fish comp, worm castings, alfalfa meal, 5-12-14 fish hydrolosate, and yucca extract. I hope it will help them finish strong. There's still clear trichomes on all of them, and the tall one still has a month to go while the others have about two weeks to go. I'm glad but surprised at the amount of extra growing time compared to what the strain info says. These plants are amazingly resilient they should be dead with all they've been through! Ps still dealing with broke ac and fluctuating environment. Till next week later dudes!

This is the first time I've used anything other than bagseed, other than not having a photo period and not having to sex them you still have to take care of them the same. I've been lax about scouting for bugs. I found a bug that was identified as a aphid by a fellow grower. After a little more looking I found out it was a soil aphid. I haven't found anymore. I've probably got another week before 3 are done and if it doesn't die first 2-3 weeks on the fourth. Between spider mites and bad fluctuating environment this hasn't been the best grow, but they still smell great and are looking better.

I have two different phenotypes. One, the short fat one is light sweet with earthy undertones a nice night time smoke. The other plants have a gassy tangerine taste. The high is definitely a day time pleasure.

Many problems from day one. I battled my broken AC and bugs all through the grow. I wasn't present a lot either. Therefore quality isn't what I think it could be and definitely the quantity took a huge hit. I am enjoying the cured bud now.

Best of luck with your girls. I have to agree with green machine and I have experienced both in my grows: -foliar feeding/misting with the lights on is a no no. -LEDs to close causing a burn that looks like a magnesium deficiency or pH lockout.
Cannaterplova
Cannaterplovacommented5 years ago
@PotCasso, I have since stopped misting, but did find eggs on the back of the leaves. I took action and they seem to be growing and I'm not seeing anymore eggs on the back of the leaves. Day 15 now. Im giving them to the end of the week to see if they take off if not I'll start over. Already have Sour D photoperiod started. Digging all the input !! Ty !!

Yo, if you're using fox farm ocean forest those mites youre trying to kill could be the good ones . Predator mites! Let em thrive if this the case. I thought i had a mite problem but I actually had hypoaspis miles mites. They love chowing on dead organic matter as well as fungus gnats and thrip and any other problem critters. Rule of thumb if they move fast, they're good mites. If they move slowly they're the bad ones.... Put it like this, if you have to stare to see if it moves , torch your girls unfortunately.

@Lucifers_Nursery,Hey thanks for the advice. I thought I had predator mites, this is my own soil, and I've added a variety pack of predator mites to my worm beds. I know I have hypoaspis mile mites, I've seen some of a couple of kind of mites in the worm beds. I did have blisters on the leaves and translucent eggs on the back of the leaves so whatever predators I had isn't there now. I don't know anything about growing Autos, but I'll give them another week to see if they start growing,if not I'll not waste my time on stunted plants. Make sure my IPM is solid before I use those bags again. I'll take all the advice I can get, so thank you.
