The week started with the AC taking a dump,so I've been battling the temp the highest I've seen was 88F but staying in the low 80's during the day and night hasn't been a problem in the low to mid 70's. My 4 hours of lights out time is mid day so it hasn't been a big problem. This week I discovered a large spider mite infestation, so I started by defoliating all the shade leaves and most effected leaves. I disinfected the tent and the room with a vinegar and peroxide mix. I've never used predator mites before but thought I'd try them ,so I first got neoseiulus californicus and the next day got Phytoseiulus persimilis. I didn't know exactly what to do with them so I dumped the californicus in the soil,so then I have the idiot idea to sprinkle them all over the top for better coverage without thinking about all that saw dust getting stuck in the trichomes. I had to try and fix that disaster, so I mixed up EM-1 and water in a Chapin sprayer and started washing leaves buds and all. So I wasted those mites but provided a big knock down on the spider mites. Once I got them as clean as possible and dried out I added Phytoseiulus persimilis. It remains to be seen if they work or not but I dumped 2000 of them on plates at the plant base with the sawdust. I'm not big on spraying anything on my plants during flower but had to fix my mess. I have a product called Nuke-Em by flying skull they advertise you can use during flower but I haven't and only will if I still have spider mites in a week. They don't look too bad for all of the adversity. Until week 11 happy growing!

8 day old seedlings in living soil. They have little white spots on their first set of leaves. Any ideas of what could be going on? All 4 seedlings have spots. I treated them with Mammoth bio-control.

This looks like little burn spots. Are you misting them with the lights on? Those LEDs put out a crazy amount of power and they look pretty close to the plants. I run my LEDs full power but always keep them at least 36 inches from the plants. If you mist them or spill nutrients on them then the light magnifies the droplets and can burn the plants. I am personally anti-foliar feeding. There really isn't much benefit of spraying your plants as long as you have good quality nutrients and an adequate grow medium. The roots do a great job if they are healthy. Raising your lights higher, feeding your roots properly, and making sure you are in range on pH will improve the happiness of your plants 100%. I would also check the plants closely for tiny insect pest with a magnifying glass just to be on the safe side. They usually attack the lower side of the leaves. Little bugs can cause similar damage. Good luck with your grow!

Best of luck with your girls. I have to agree with green machine and I have experienced both in my grows: -foliar feeding/misting with the lights on is a no no. -LEDs to close causing a burn that looks like a magnesium deficiency or pH lockout.

@PotCasso, I have since stopped misting, but did find eggs on the back of the leaves. I took action and they seem to be growing and I'm not seeing anymore eggs on the back of the leaves. Day 15 now. Im giving them to the end of the week to see if they take off if not I'll start over. Already have Sour D photoperiod started. Digging all the input !! Ty !!

Yo, if you're using fox farm ocean forest those mites youre trying to kill could be the good ones . Predator mites! Let em thrive if this the case. I thought i had a mite problem but I actually had hypoaspis miles mites. They love chowing on dead organic matter as well as fungus gnats and thrip and any other problem critters. Rule of thumb if they move fast, they're good mites. If they move slowly they're the bad ones.... Put it like this, if you have to stare to see if it moves , torch your girls unfortunately.

@Lucifers_Nursery,Hey thanks for the advice. I thought I had predator mites, this is my own soil, and I've added a variety pack of predator mites to my worm beds. I know I have hypoaspis mile mites, I've seen some of a couple of kind of mites in the worm beds. I did have blisters on the leaves and translucent eggs on the back of the leaves so whatever predators I had isn't there now. I don't know anything about growing Autos, but I'll give them another week to see if they start growing,if not I'll not waste my time on stunted plants. Make sure my IPM is solid before I use those bags again. I'll take all the advice I can get, so thank you.
