Compost tea today, Day 59. Gaia Green 4-4-4 top up for most of the plants, ensuring all the ones headed outdoors at the end of May have what they need until then. As for the others, I gave them a pre-amended mix of HP Organic soil & 4-4-4 as well (but I left more room for Gaia Bloom to top dress when I switch them the flower May 25th or so.
I also tied down a lot of branches and defoliated. Growth has been steady and the general humidity in the Toronto air has been increasing nicely so I can hover around 50% easily.
Still seeing fungus gnats here and there. Keeping my sticky traps out. Bottom feeding when I can (today was a bit of a gamble since adding 4-4-4 and compost tea combined with coco/peat/perlite/mycorrhizae soil as a top dress definitely would be appetizing to them). I will keep an eye out the next 24hrs and arm myself with Mosquito dunks if need be.
I also raised and turned up my Mars LED to full power. I should now get better coverage on the perimeter and by raising my light the centre HST indoor-only plants should thrive/be ok.
Trouble in paradise. Issues with new growth on a few plants in my 2nd tent. Rather suddenly. Past experience lead me to suspect a pest eating my roots (no, not a deficiency). Checked soil. Bingo. Bulb mite? Best way to attack issue? I have 3 weeks before these go outdoors. Neem?
Hello.. Hope you are well.. Ive read that Hypoaspis mites Are a natural wat to get them little critters.. Just also read that Cosmolaelaps claviger, a beneficial mite that is a natural predator of bulb mites.. Contact ur local gardening centres or hyd3shops and ask if they stock these natural predators.. Stay safe n gud luck.. Please let me know if u are successful as i haven't tryed this myself yet luckily but never know for future reference.. 👍🍀
@PotentiallyPotent, depends! Early Veg I have just been doing a simple molasses and worm casting tea with a tiny bit of liquid Kelp and Gaia Green 4-4-4 in there too. Later I’ll do a more fungal dominated tea in flower.
@jef79 with a great answer : biological solutions are the only solutions that really are sure to work with no damage to the quality of your bud. I personally use bacilus thuriengiensis, or ladybugs

Pest management has been a major focus with everyone this year. I've sprayed down spider mites in mid veg then thrips and now the damn silk worms are repelling out of the fucking trees! Good luck and great looking grow.
@Obitrice, Haha seems like a never ending battle sometimes hey? I just try to keep the plant as healthy as I can so it can fight off whatever comes at it. Hope it all works out!
@Sweet_Seeds, very excited to give Cream Caramel CBD version a go. It was a freebie seed (and a pretty old one at that), so I’m just happy it’s popped and keeping up with the others so far!
Thanks all! I ended up using/ordering a combo of all three suggestions (Neem, Soap and predatory mites). Plants in this tent all still look good, and the other tent with most affected plant hanging in there. Outdoor organic environment will take care of these issues, and the mites I add should help for the 4 ladies I leave indoors and flip/flower for the next 70-75 days. Appreciate the support!
I also wanted to note I added Insect Frass and Worm Castings as a top dress. The Frass provides the only immediately plant available Chitin, which will help activate the plant’s auto-immune response. I mixed aloe Vera powder into my last watering as well to help the plant out. Later this weekend I will top dress with Malted Barley.
