1st time doing a run with Crop King Seeds.
Not sure what to say about this yet. Soaked 3 seeds in pop lid of water. Placed in warm (75-80) dark place. 2 seeds cracked a little bit on morning of day 6. The 3rd showed no signs of a tap.
Soaked rock wool cubes and flushed with 7ph water. Placed the 2 cracked seeds, resting in the seed hole, crack down in the cubes. 3rd buried bit further down in cube for more water retention. Rest of Day 6 in cubes showed no progress.
Day 7 or wouldn't have done a dairy for wk one without something to show. Still going to give a coulpe more days before totally give up on them. See what happens wk2 if have some plants or bad news
Bro. I bought 10 from crop kings. 5 did not sprout. I called and they replaced them. I am super happy with the results.
But you need to call them and follow their instructions.
@Greendawg, try Humboldt. . Try to get the cyber Monday deal. It's 2 for 1. But I have tried
Sour Desiel
Garlic lemon
Green Crack
3 Blue Kings
Chem dog
Sour blueberry
UK chesse
And sugar breath from them. Genetics are strong and I've maybe had 1 or 2 bad seeds out of all those strains. Won't be disappointed, normally by 24 hrs of soaking seeds have split and ready for medium. Check out my 3 Blue Kings diary, she's a beast. Genetics are amazing does the best out of her sisters.
@Fusion, I will check them out. Recently I have ordered from seedsman.com and cropkings. My first seedsman order was 5 seeds and only 3 germinated. Dr krippling. Not super happy.
I will let you know my success rate on these new orders. Good luck bro
@Greendawg, so far have tried dinafem, Humboldt and CropKing. Tend to stick with Humboldt mostly unless I'm looking for a strain that they don't offer. Can notice the genetics more when try different breeders.
@northernMike, appreciate the help. Think the seeds are just stale or bad gen's for starting. Can see the tap on one of the seeds but won't grow. Tried more dark/more light, more humidity/ warmth, less.. just won't respond to anything I do. Same tray/conditions the early miss was up in 2 days, candy cane no response. Gave them some rooting hormone and going to try drying it out a bit see if can't get her to chase the moisture. Just fustrating that everything that done in past just won't work on these brand of seeds.
Hey,how goes the battle?
Sounds to me like you drowned those seeds, they need to be in a cup of water
no more than 18- 20 hours, then into a wet paper towel, not to wet, just moist, careful not to let dry out for a period of 2-3 days until a tap root appears,
approx. 1/2'' long.then you can place in the growing medium of your choice.
I am new to growing also, but I have had 90% germination success using this method.
Good Luck and Grow Big!!
@northernMike, sadly no didn't make any mistake. I germinate my seeds same way , same place, every time. With 95% success rate. Was just these seeds. I don't drown my seeds. I put water above the seed and rest over night. By morning the water is around half way coverage. I maintain that level until she cracks, then let water evaporate naturally watchin the tap swell and protrude.
Germinated Humboldt strains at same time , same way and there growing. 5 out of 5. 5th germinated just never took to the rock wool.
As for Paper towel method. Some like it but most will always say soak over night / 24hrs too. It hydrates the seed.
I find just soaking in water in warm place then once seed cracks placing into medium works just as well. Most pros do this method as don't rip any of the tiny hairs that grow out off the tap. Builds it's root system in the medium.
