When you want to start growing, it's important to do your research. My advice is to join some FB groups that help with tips and tricks on how to make your attempt the best experience possible.
If the equipment is too much to buy all at once, you should stagger the plant's needs until you can pay for it. I needed a great and sturdy tent for my indoor grow room. I searched Craigslist and found a Secret Jardin DR120 tent for only $40, that normally sells for $200+ online. I'll have this setup next week, and then I'll have a cleaner location for continuing my grow process.
I purchase a used MH 400 watt grow lamp as well as a used 400 watt covertable MH/HPS grow lamp setup. I know it's not the best and most powerful light on the market, but it only cost $60 on Craigslist for one of the lights and $10 for the other. Both work fine and came with new bulbs. The MH light gives off a lot of heat, and I'm glad that it's only 400 watts.
The hot temps outside make keep the grow area cool, quite the challenge. The lights are on all night long for 18 hours and that does bleed into the daytime hours. The tent has gotten up to the 90's during the day, but I have faith that the fans and humidifier will provide enough cool air to not effect the plant's growth.
So much green! It's like the best surprise when I unzip the grow tent and see these plants thriving and growing bigger with each new day. I think this Master Kush is a super healthy strain that is very resistant to growing issues.
I had to change out the heavy 400 watt HPS light in the grow tent, so naturally I placed the plants in the trunk until the environment was ready for the flowering stage.
I really hoped that I could tell the sex of my plants by this week. Their sex was still up for guessing at this point, but I had a strong feeling they were female.
This grow is starting to show it's yielding potential. The number of kolas and the bud structure a present this week. All the pistils are bursting with yellow-orangish hues that seem to stretch out. It's really beautiful at this stage, so the opportunity to take high quality photography is in order.
These Master Kush plants are really starting to have a great pungent aroma. I'm noticing the subtle qualities of this amazing Indica dominate strain, and I'm certainly excited to take these plants to the full flowering stage. I'm sure the harvest is going to be well worth the wait.
The top main kolas are beginning to get very heavy. They tend to lean over and pretty much face the lighting from an angle. I've taken the time to turn the plant's pots around so that each side gets full exposure to enough light.
In the video I was able to explain what I'm looking for in the trichomes and how far along the plants are in the flowering stage. I'm eager to see if the amber coloring begins from the top closest to the light or lower down where more shade is present.
At this point all the growing is basically on auto and the only thing I'm going to need to do, is to cut off fan leaves that are at least 50% color changed.
The taste of Master Kush is reminiscent of the famous hard-rubbed charas hash. This strain holds a superb balance of full-body relaxation without the mind-numbing effect that many indica strains produce. Instead, Master Kush offers a sharpened sensory awareness that can bring out the best of any activity.
I love this new diary app! Getting to document each and every grow, makes it easier to improve the next time. If this website continues to gain more and more growers, I think Grow Diaries might be the goto site for uniting together growers from all over the world.
