So, normally I wouldn't start a diary from day 1 but as I was strolling through the Land of the Jolly Green Giants when I spotted a couple of baby Gorillas! They couldn't have been more than a few hours old by the looks of 'em. Tiny and wet from their struggle to shed their shells. I found one of the seedlings had popped out with white tipped leaves. I have seen this before with Tangie'matic (not on just one either, a couple times) and I'm not worried about it because it seems like tip burn. The tips will brown and it shouldn't miss a step. But I am curious as to the cause. Genetics or germination technique? Any thoughts or experience on the subject? UPDATE: End of week 1, day 7 and all is good. After posting a question for help it was a consensus that my starter mix was too hot. I amended it with Coco coir and perlite to cool it down and my two new baby gorillas popped out with no issues. As a matter of fact, I added a step to my germination process and the Tangerine auto popped up after only 48 hours underground. The GG#4 autos showed their heads within 72 hours. Outstanding results! Shout out to @OwnWayGoodWay @Mrs_Larimar @chasv77 for replying so promptly. Peace Thanks for turning on and tuning in. All questions or comments are welcome. Peace

Why did my seedlings germinate with white tipped leaves? I have seen this happen before a couple times and I am curious as to what the issue may be. Is it genetics or germination technique (pH, soil to hot, too wet)? In the past, the tips will brown and the plant would been fine.

End week 2, Day 14 and all is well in the garden. Got 4 in the ground now and popping 2 more today so I can harvest a couple every couple weeks. Nothing really new to report. It has been a busy week trying to prepare for COVID 19 and hunker down for awhile. Thanks for turning on and tuning in. All comments and questions are welcome. Peace and Health

End week 3, day 21 and all is well. The gorillas finished the week at 10 and 7 inches. Feeding with plain H20 and growth is steady. We got 2 new baby gorillas and one has 3 cotyledons with 3 single 1st leaves. Thanks for turning on and tuning in. Peace and health everyone

Day 28 and the end of week 4. I got one that wants to keep stretching, 24 inches and counting, and one that just wants to bush out, 16 inches. Both have shown the onset of flowering and started to bloom. Stay home and stay healthy. Tend to the garden and help those in need. Thanks for turning on and tuning in. End of week 5, day 35 and I believe the home stretch has finished and the only height, now, is coming from the fattening of the cola. She topped out at 36 inches while her sis is at 28 inches. I have begun to supplement with some CalMag and K until harvest. I also feed Recharge once a week at a rate of 0.5 tsp per gal H2O @ pH 6.5. We are now heading into the second half. Time to bring 'em on home. I am starting a new diary on the baby gorillas to compare the 3 leaf GG4 auto v. 2 leaf GG4 auto Thanks for turning on and tuning in. End week 6, day 42 and the gorillas are restless. They have overgrown their space and become a jungle. I'm waiting for some other plants to finish up so I can spread them out and get them under the flowering lights. They will flower fine where they are but I would like them to get a little more red spectrum. Anyway, the Gorillas are growing rapidly and without any intervention from me. End week 7, day 49 and the gorillas have gone wild. I have been busy harvesting some older plants and was able to spread the jungle out a little. They are turning into silver backs the way the frost is building making them glisten brightly in the sunlight. The buds are starting to swell and looking sticky sweet. End week 8, day 56 and the jungle is calm. The flowers are in full bloom and getting frostier and fattening up with each passing day. They are living up to their name, so sticky. Another couple weeks probably the hairs are beginning to darken here and there. Thanks for turning on and tuning in. All comments and questions are welcome. Peace and health

End week 9, day 63 and we will give 'em another week to finish up. I put 'em under the burple to finish up and because they are so big I couldn't move 'em. The flowers are so heavy I had to tie the branches up to keep from breaking. We'll see how the week goes before we harvest. Thanks for turning on and tuning in. End week 10 day 70 and I pulled they today and put them into the dark room for 48 hrs before I will cut and hang to dry. Trichomes looked to be about 50/50 and the hairs had all darkened. They are living up to their name as far the amount of frost on these monsters. They should be delightful after a good dry and cure. Stay tuned and I'll be back in a couple weeks with the results. The jungle has been deforested and turned over to the purps. Gorrilla Glue #4 Automatic by Expert Seeds is an easy grow that yielded some big sticky buds in 70 days from germination. I missed my goal of 112 grams per plant by 0.5 grams. That's the way the trim goes although I got bags full of sugar leaf and larf for a run of bubble between harvests. Should be a monster yield there too. The only issue I did have was with another set of GG4's where one of the plants hermied on me and produced some seeds. So far I have only found seeds on the one plant that hermied, amazingly. After about 7 days of drying and a 2 week cure in jars we got some sweet smelling and tasty buds. A sweet to citrus smell with a coffee undertone. Tastes sweet and nutty and the high is uplifting and energetic. A good daytime smoke to keep you sane throughout the day.
