Sprouting was a breeze, within 24h they started rooting. Day 1, right after sowing they started showing up. Now the game is on! Day 2, all helmets are gone, now they can start opening up. Day 3 and the first tiny leaves start to show. Day 4 and 5, happy and growing steady!

What would you recommend: low stress training (such as bending, ScrOG) or high stress training (such as topping, fimming) for my strain? I read different things about it.

If it is your first grow I would recommend to keep it as simply as possible and let her just grow naturally. Will also give great results.

Day 8, the plants are looking good, no big news. Day 10, the temperature is a bit too high during the day (29°C), which can get problematic when the temperature is slowly rising outside. For now the plants look still happy and they are growing at a steady pace. Day 13, the problem with the temperature is solved for now, one of the plants has already had some heat stress, but luckily I could solve it fast. The soil was beginning to get very dry in the upper part of the pot, as I only watered from underneath. To give the roots the opportunity to also use the upper part as growing space, I had to take measures. Now this is solved as well and the plants are happy again!

Starting the week with fimming the plant in the right front, to see the difference in yield compared to the other ones. The plant in the rf is the most average of all of them in size, grow speed and development, however it has the smallest side branches so far. Slowly increasing the nutrients further up, trying to find the perfect balance. Day 20, the fimming appeared to be successful. I might have given the plants too much nutritions (see slightly lighter leaves in one of the plants) so I have to pay attention to not increasing the EC too fast. Besides that, the plants are looking very good and happy.

Unfortunately two of the ladies, left front and right back, already started flowering. I was hoping to see them vegging and stretching a bit more before showing their flowers, lets see how much they will fill up the empty space that still remains, over this week. End of this week and they actually did grow slightly more. I binded them so that the light is used most efficiently. The leaves started showing signs of nitrogen toxicity so I unfortunately had to flush all of them. They recovered soon and look more happy than before.

I am happy to see that the plants are still growing! They look more healthy now, after flushing last week. However, one of the leaves of the plant in the right back is changing colours (see pictures). Maybe someone knows why?

Start of week 6, Unfortunately one of the ladies keeps making banana's. Till now I've cut them out but lets see how this process continues. Flushing after nitrogen toxicity did them really well, also raising the light was a good move. They look happy and content again. As you might have seen in the pictures, I filled up some space with fresh young plants (also auto's). I won't document those further in this diary.

The flowers are growing beautifully. I gave them an extra calciumm magnesium supplement, for the deficiency that was developing. See the pictures for the leaves that showed the symptoms. Hopefully they will recover soon.

The upper leaves show worse symptoms now. The leaves are getting more yellow and brown. I am not sure why, maybe because they started flowering early and are thus finished early, or there is a deficiency of something... For now I will give them only ph corrected water without nutrients, and in the mean time I am searching for an explanation. Day 54: The problem has been identified! It was light stress that had been developing over a longer period. All the leaves exposed to direct light show very bad symptoms. The leaves that where not directly exposed seem perfectly healthy. I am now using less light, and let's see what they think about that! I also continue with feeding again with an EC of 1,3

The flowers are growing beautifully. I think it was a good decision to increase the height of the lamp, to prevent the light stress getting worse.

The plants are doing well! The damage of the light stress is not developing anymore, which is a good sign. The buds are growing pretty. In the end of the week I started flushing.

The plants are almost ready for harvest! One more week for flushing and then they are hopefully ready. I have given them 48h without any light at the end of this week, then next week it's time for harvesting!

Your Goal in indoor growing is to open the Canopy, so all budsites get enough light. LST is a great way to do it without harmibng the Plant ( just be careful)I add the Techic topping . If aplant grows very high i go with supercropping after topping too. So The growth f the Plant decides wich technic. If you are new to all. just perform one you feel comfortable with

I don't think those leaves should be fading that fast. I'm much more inclined to believe it is a nutrient issue. Cal or Mag deficiencies should present on lower/older leaves first and they look great so I would lean more towards nutrient burn. I think your plan is a good one. Google immobile cannabis nutrients, those will cause symptoms in new growth. Mobile nutrient issues show up in older growth first. I'd wager it's more of a lockout issue than lack of since most immobile nutrients are only needed in small amounts and you have been feeding regularly in soil, correct?

@Reefkeeper, thanks again. After correcting the PH, the ec can reach a total of around 2 meassured in the run off
Reefkeeper
Reefkeepercommented5 years ago
@GreenamI, Good thinking on the lights. I would definitely dial them back. It may not be the only problem but it will help you eliminate one variable and will stress the plant less either way. Are you saying your PH adjustment takes your EC from 1.3 to 2 or adds around .2?
GreenamI
GreenamIcommented5 years ago
Heey @Reefkeeper, thanks for thinking along. I also figured it is probaly not a deficiency, since I mainted a propper EC and gave a bio calmag additive. Due to a nitrogen toxicity before, we unfortunately had to flush the plants a few weeks back. Now I have been feeding regularly in the soil indeed and measured the pH and EC, and we can't see anything abnormal, PH is stable around 6,3. The EC was often around 1.3 including the 0,2 from the tap water. Hower including ph+/- could raise the EC around 2. Do you reckon this could cause the lock out? I personally believe the most likely issue is the light intensity, the light is a big overkill for the size of the tent. I used a greenception gc 9, and the symptoms only appear in the top part from the plants and look very similar. In a previous run, I used less than half the watts and the results were stunning.

Congratulations on the new baby. She looks good at first. Choose a good variety. Pour a treat. Keep doing what you are doing and have the growing ganja gods protect your women until the growth is complete.
