Here we go again. We’re going to try to get this hydroponic thing right this time from the start. The Pineapple Express taught, and is still teaching me a lot, so I figured why not try another.
I have no real idea what to expect here. They told me it’s “mostly indica”. I might just let this one grow in its natural form. Who knows. I can’t ever seem to leave well enough along.
Regardless of everything else, we’re off and running with this one. The tap root is already a couple inches deep into the bucket, and I expect to see some real growth very soon. Till next week . . . .
Well, hydro sure looks different when you don’t have problems from the start. Roots are dropping all over from the net pot now. White, pretty, clean roots. She’s happy right now and it shows in the growth. I’m not sure exactly what I’m going to do as far as grow technique, but I’ll figure it out as we go
So far so good I’d say. Off to a good start.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again. . THANK YOU @GreenMachine. This has been SOOOOO much easier than my Pineapple Express. Everything has been right from the get go. The root mass has developed quickly, branching is great, and she’s growing fast!
I got to top her this week. I wasn’t sure what to do with training, but I think I’m gonna do just a good ol regular topping. She’s a indica plant, so height shouldn’t be a issue. This one has really thick leaves and stems. She’s surely going to be compact. That’s about all to report this week. Hopefully next week has some bigger changes. Thanks for looking!
This thing is THICK and DENSE! She’s growing very quickly. So much to the point I ALMOST decided to top her all again and mainline, but I think I’ll leave well enough alone. I don’t want to risk stressing it, and who knows when she’s going to decide to start flowering.
The roots are doing really well. Building up mass really quickly. Still nice and white and gaining more as the days pass. I’m really enjoying this run at hydro a lot more than I did with the Pineapple Express to begin with. Everything is running smooth, water temps are staying down, I couldn’t ask for much more at this point. Until next week . . .
She’s recovered well from the topping and really vegging our now. I’m still trying to figure out exactly how I want to attempt to train this one. The internodal spacing is tight so far, so I’m just going to let her grow and tell me what she wants done later down the road. All in all off to a decent start with this hydro attempt
Did some defoliation and some training this week. Light on both of them. Everything seems to be lining up the way it should. First signs of flowering just started showing today. So, this will be the last vegetation week.
Flowering has started on this one. Gave a good flush with some Clearex. Root mass is looking pretty. The pistols are starting to make them selves known. Showing up a little bit of everywhere.
To all the people that are nice enough to follow along, bare with us this week. The pictures aren’t what they usually are. Life has gotten incredibly busy, but hopefully things get back to normal next week. Thanks for looking.
This one is really starting to fill out now. I’ll probably do some defoliation at some point this week. The training seems to be going okay so far. As this is a indica, I don’t expect height to be a issue. I’m just trying to get as many bud sites forming as I can.
I had some pH issues this week. I monitor it pretty closely, but for the first couple of days it was trying to jump. It got up to a 6.5 at one point over night. There was some slight leaf discoloration , but nothing major. I don’t think the pictures show it. However, it’s all back on track. The pH will be stable now that I’m able to use more maxibloom. Next week will look good.
This one is starting to come into its own. The pistols are popping up everywhere. It’s already clear she’s going to be a dense plant. Probably not a huge one like the Pineapple Express next to it, but I’m sure she will be nice regardless.
Not a whole lot happening here this week. The buds are just starting to form. Stretching a little bit, but not too bad. I think the indica traits are going to hold this one low. That’s about it this week.
Not too much going on this week. The buds are starting to form in places. The root system seems it’s building up and forming nicely. Light scents are coming in. She’s about to get a lot more room once’s the Pineapple Express comes out later this week. She sure needs the room.
She got another flush with clearex this weekend. Then loaded her back up with nutes. She’s still packing on weight. Went up on the beastiebloomz just a bit. This is the first week she’s actually getting the chance to grow right. With the Pineapple Express done, I moved this one into a tent all to its self and 260w on top of her. She should really start putting on the weight now. According to their Instagram I now know this is the new strawberry pie strain. So looking forward to seeing the colors come out shortly and the smells. Thanks for looking.
She’s finally getting thirsty now. Up to about 3/4 gal a day or so. Maybe a little on the lower side. However, the trichomes are piling on and looking pretty. She’s still putting on weight, so just gonna keep her fat and happy and flush when she tells me she’s ready. I imagine a couple more weeks left here at least.
The buds keep filling out and looking nice. There’s a reddish/pink tint on the trichomes. We’ve got a new lens coming to get better macro shots. These things deserve proper treatment.
I’m still feeding her at this point. It’s still growing and that’s one thing I love about hydro. A good flush is easy to do real quickly so I can push it a little further than normal. That’s about it for this week. Thanks for looking.
Not much going on this week. She’s still just fattening up and maturing. She’s really starting to look pretty, and has a real unique smell to it. I’m still feeding her full dose at the moment. Trichomes are starting to cloud a little more, but I imagine I’ll start flushing next week at some time. All and all, not too upset with this grow.
Flush time is finally here. Looks like we might have successfully figured hydro out. Between the Pineapple Express and this one I’m content. This one however, looks WAY better than the Pineapple Express. She’s gorgeous. The buds run stalk length.
Just started finally flush today. So I imagine another week or so and that’ll be a wrap. I’ll be honest, I can’t wait for this thing to be ready to smoke. It looks sooooo delicious. The trichomes have almost a pinkish hue to them. Curious to see what’ll be on the scales. Thanks for looking.
Nothing much going on this week. Still in flushing. The colors are starting to fade out. I’m guessing this will be the last week on this one. Most likely will harvest as soon as I see the fade I’m after. Some nutrient burn on the tips from a couple weeks ago. However she’s about done now, so smooth sailing from here. See ya for harvest next week!
Well, harvest day is here. I really would have liked to get a better fade out of her, but she snuck up and the trichomes are ready. It got 2 weeks of water only, in hydro, so it’s prolly fine.
These buds are beautiful and the smell matches. By far the prettiest one we’ve grown in my opinion. The boss lady KILLED it on the trimming and pics on this. This trim was all her. lol. Mines not good enough I guess. Either way, gorgeous plant, smooth grow, great all around experience. I’ll update with the final weight and tastes and all that good stuff as soon as I know. Thanks for looking!
@Wicked_Stix,
Thank ya much sir. I was ready to toss hydro in the trash until that Maxi stuff. They outta pay you for campaigning. Lol. I’m using that in my soil FBT29 and it’s doing amazing. Hydro is sooo much easier when working with stable stuff. Valuable lesson learned there.
@WildeWeed, Ya I remember you saying you regretted overfeeding her, but you cant very well be expected to mix a separate batch of nutes for each plant you're growing based on its preference..that which doesn't kill them makes them stronger.
@Wicked_Stix,
Starting to get strong. A typical strong “weed” smell but with a sweet scent about it. I can’t call it strawberry yet, but sweet smelling for sure.
Hey brutha, that one is looking crisp, defenitly gonna taste as good as she looks. Can you let me know how many times did you top her? That's an amazing job 418g wet from 1 auto... amazing, its got to be at least 150g dried. I wish i had enough lateral space to try and get at least half your results on this upcoming grow.
@WildeWeed, yeah its says so on their website, i don't get why they call them 60 or 70 days auto's, pretty missleading, seems like they are following the example of led growlight makers when it comes to wattage.
Rly thanks for the information, imma leave the next grow for twice the time to mature.
@DoDrugs420,
Ignore everything the breeder says. I was just looking at your diaries. You haven’t fully let a plant mature yet. Like they said, if you think it’s done, give it two more weeks.
