when you start to see that color change your looking for here are some tips fellow grower: 1 it comes during the end of your plants life cycle 2 it is your plant cannabilizing (eating) itself...3 as the plant consumes its own leaves it absorbs the nutrients from them 4 it then puts that energy in the final swelling of the buds...flushing is crucial in bringing about this process fellow grower...I think your first plant was cut a lil early as the cannibal stage had just begun...even though your second plant may not look like it has as much as the first one did if you hold out and do a proper flush and let them buds swell you may end up with denser buds and thus more weight...and the first one you cut could have been even more too...I know having a small cramped space can be over whelming trying to raise center or lower/balance them all to get light to them...and also having to feed each one separate can be time consuming to...but you only robb your plant of its full potiential and your self better quality smoke by harvesting early...look ahead on your next grow...everything in your tent your cant support through the next run scrap it...I have a 2x4 space and have learned...no more than 2 or 3 plants...and even with 3 it becomes a side show act real fast...just a little honest friendly helpful adivice that I hope helps you along...and remember flushing/cannabilazation is the most important part...Happy Holidays!!!
