So I thought the yellowing was because she needed feeding, turns out it was the start of root rot, last grow I wanted to hang the plant whole so I got my buddy to saw through the trunk whilst I held the plant anyway he sawed through the net pot a bit, I didnt think anything of it as didnt look pierced but on closer inspection it was pierced and letting light in, she just hasn't developed to well and is tall and skinny and the 1st node just hasn't developed at all, I think I've fixed the issue now and she seems happier, new roots look good but they are underdeveloped but hopefully I can pull it back.
@Fleetwood, oh that was just to stop the light getting in the res, that's the only issue because its planted pretty deep I need to wait for a day or 2 before I can fill the larger net pot with clay pebbles
@Fleetwood, yeah I've done it on every grow, no stability is fine as you still get side roots which grow through the clay pebbles, it's just this way the tap root is in the water 2/3 days after germination, I just added a few pictures to show you what i mean
Think I may have the same problem, light leaking into my res. So the foil helped til you put more clay pebbles in? To bad I misplaced mines and had to go with river rocks from Lowe's til I can order some more pebbles.
@caliboyyy22, good to hear everything is opening back up but hopefully it's not to early! What size are your net pots, you could buy some neoprene collars or you could make a cardboard cutout to cover the grow stones maybe?
@MrGreenFingers,all is well, my state has actually opened back up but I still dont trust it. Will probably wait until next year to do the things I want to do like fishing and going to the beach or river to swim. Yeah I think I might have that issue but the light is shining through my river rocks I believe gotta take another look at where the light is coming from.
