Stretch Armstrong!
Swapped the 26W grow light for another 26W bloom
Taken a large amount of fan leaves off - some from bottom that were in shade and some from top blocking budsites
Got pH up to 6.4 up from 5.6 last week by watering with 6.9 and then 6.7.
Removed about 50 fan leaves this week!
Raised the lights to 10 inches above canopy and moved some of the tops with the screen wires so the top of canopy isn't stretching above the rest and moved the circular light to one side so it doesn't make the middle stretch up.
pH of runoff tested as 6.0 (24.12.17)
Any comments / tips welcome

Really amazing smell coming off her now, really sweet and earthy. Hope she's finally stopped stretching after 3 weeks of flowering!
31.12.17 (end of week 3) - Removed the small 12W round LED light and added a supplementary 6500k (grow) TLED, noticed these TLEDs have a 22W output so total wattage now 66W (56W before)
Started using a small dehumidifier to reduce humidity to 45-50%.
Got lights at 8" above the very top of the canopy to try to get good coverage further down in the canopy since she stretched a lot and created lots of middle growth (perhaps the 6500k TLED would have reduced stretch a bit) - waiting to see how close can go before signs of burn - I reckon around 6-8" since they're low wattage LEDs.
All comments / tips welcome,
Just to let you know I update at end of the week so end of week 4 flowering.
Only watered twice this week, going to try to water with slightly less water but more frequently from now on. Previously been watering with 3.8L of water at a time (no run-off).
Lot of defoliation at the end of this week to try and let more light through to the mid-area, the stretch on this thing really caught me by surprise! - If I was doing this grow again I probably would flip 12/12 earlier and bend under the screen for the first 7-12 days of flowering
All comments / tips welcome!
Took the lower screen out (that I accidentally let the plant stretch straight through - fail), and one of the lights dropped on half the plant! Seems to have recovered now though.
Added a few wires to support some of the branches that were leaning and to keep them fairly central under all the lights.
Can see slight yellowing of the edges of some of the newer leaves, and some slightly burnt tips but she looks reasonably happy to my untrained eye at least!
CBD Critical Cure listed as 55-60 days / 8 - 9 weeks flowering, I'm hoping to get high CBN levels in addition to high CBD so going to try to harvest when 20% of trichs turning amber so reckon I've got a good 3-4 weeks left till harvest.
All tips / comments welcome!
Peace👽
Not much to report this week, upped the nutrients in line with the feeding chart, also been watering with less water (2.9l) more frequently (about once every 2/3 days).
Really frosting up as you can see in some of the pics.
Looking forward to trying it! Would anyone recommend those humidity pouch things for curing in glass jars?
Comments/tips welcome 👽
Not a great deal to report, frosting up nicely, gonna take a closer look at trichomes at the end of next week and probably start flushing the following week (watering with just pH 6.5 water).
What do you guys think? 1 week of flushing before harvest? Anyone recommend changing light cycle when flushing?
All tips/comments welcome,
👽
Not much to report this week, trichomes looking mostly cloudy, no amber yet, planning to start flushing this week and hopefully harvest in a week or so from now!
Peace,
Checked out her trichomes, mostly clouded but no amber.
Will continue flushing for another week, more water this week to try to flush the last of the nutrients out the soil.
Peace 👽
RIP centre core
😀Nothing to compare to but seemed quite easy to grow! Definitely recommend keeping close eye on pH of your nutrient solution you're using and not shaking the nutrients up! Also, watering with less volume more frequently seemed to speed things up quite a bit.
Harvested after seeing about 20% amber trichomes on most of the tops (end of week 10 flower), after 2 weeks flushing with pH 6.5 water.
550g wet weight, hung for 6 days, pruned and weighed as 94g dry weight, a whopping 1.42g/w/plant! 👽
Currently in jars curing, the smell is absolutely amazing, sweet, woody, citrusy, pine, tropical, really looking forward to trying it!
Peace out everyone, thanks for the help along the way.
lollipop, lollipop, I would suggest a lollipop. Everything lower than the trellis has no light. A portion above of it has a useless low light condition as well. An expert prune and defoliate there might also do some good.
@goarilla, thanks for the advice goarilla - removed a lot more leaves including larger fan leaves near the top, fan leaves below the screen and lots of bottom growth including popcorn budsites.
I've kept some of the large fan leaves around the sides near the bottom since they're still getting light.
- Added another 22W TLED to try to improve light penetration through the canopy (that 12W round LED seemed pretty useless).
Look forward to updating with progress next week! 👽
good to see your harvest was fat, enjoy the medicine -- let me know if it has any particular medical effects especially muscle spasm or pain or anti-depressant effects
Seems to be a bit stretched too much. Is the light strong enough for this surface? Im sure it will be top notch smoke, but I remember my CBD Critical Mass from CBD Crew and it was much more compact with shorter space between nodes, but damn.. it was the tastiest strain Ive ever smoked and with very calm, chilled high! Good luck my friend!
Mostly cloudy, I'd recommend checking multiple spots on each plant daily. You're really close. It's a hassle, but worth it.
It's not so bad if you let them get a bit more amber on accident, especially the CBD strains. I let them get more amber as they are supposed to really finish cbd production like 1-3 days after a THC plant would be ready
SO pretty, I bet you're impatient as all get out. Really good pictures as well. Please post a lot of these pics for your harvest update =)
Thanks B4RNS!
I was initially growing in biobizz lightmix in a 1 gal smartpot and transplanted to 7 gal smartpot with biobizz allmix.
The lights are pretty low wattage compared to most - 26W grow TLED, 26W bloom TLED and a 12W grow light (9 red, 3 blue LEDs) - looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Currently using the 12W light to target areas of the screen to try to bring it all up to a single level.
I tested the pH of run-off at start of week 10 and found it was 5.6 (slightly below the ideal 6.5?) - I think its because I was shaking up the water / nutrient mix prior to watering which I've read lowers the pH of the mixture! Rookie error! Last watering (start of week 11) was at pH 7.0.
She seems happy enough for now though, looking forward to sharing progress next week! 👽
