Grow # 1.5 - Phimo the Critical Purple After learning a few things from my first 3 plants (on week 8 in flower as I type this), I really wanted to try to get something that would fill an entire half of my tent by itself. I've heard varying reports that you can get massive autos starting at 5-7 gallons. 10 gallon seems overkill, but I'm doing organic living soil with a cover crop, so I wanted some mistake buffer. My main light is almost totally in use by my other flowers, so we're testing the 300W single COB E26 bulb by Cannagrow. It's approximately 24 inches from the plant. Medium (not exact, something like this, mixed a much larger batch): Fox Farms Ocean Forest and Happy Frog (2/1 ratio) - 3g Mother Earth Coco/Perlite - 3g Earthworm Castings - 2g Nature's Living Soil - Autoflower 1g Bio-char - .25g Alfalfa meal - .25g Kelp Meal - .25g Bio Live - .25g Great White myco in the mix and on the seed. Cannaseur cover crop. Trinity in the seeding water. Compost tea every week (trinity, earthworm castings, nature's living soil, alfalfa/kelp meal, bio-live, bio-char).

3/24 - Remodel Today it was very clear the 3 plants would more than fill the scrog space, I also adjusted the lights and they were no longer uniform with the other plants. I went ahead and moved Phimo to her own half of the tent. The plan is the ScrOG, and the plan is for this bitch to fill her whole half of the tent solo. 3/26-3/30 I know we're a bit past two weeks here, but I didn't have any great pictures without that LED stripe and I really didn't want to have a whole week with two pictures. So here's a sneak peak of week 3! Received two more compost teas on 3/21-22 and 3/28-29. Every day you see a picture they also got a water except for 3/30, they just got that tea.

4/05 24 days old She got a compost tea today along with the others, these pictures are shortly after. Had a couple extra lights in there so took a few macros. Growth isn't amazing, but she's looks healthy as fuck! 04/03 After getting a bunch of light stress on my other plants I also adjusted some things on Phimo. She didn't get watered until 04/03, looked little droopy afterwards, I'll have to see how she looks after lights out. Loving the difference from last picture to this one, can really see how huge the 3rd stack of leaves got over the 4 days. Should have used an N95 again, oh well. 3/30 Just got a compost tea, see last week for more details.

4/12 - 31 Days I got worms! Transplanting some basil in my outdoor planter today and I harvested a few worms. They went in the 10 gallon, hopefully there's enough food in there that they don't start feasting on the roots. Phimo got a Blumat watering carrot today, seems pretty dialed in at this point, no runoff but definitely a grip of water usage last night, close to a gallon. Tea day today and tomorrow, foliar sprays for the next few days. The ScrOG is about to begin. Next set of pictures will have the net. 04/09 - 28 Days Two days into LST, just doing a little bit of prep for the ScrOG. This thing is like supersized compared to my other plants, but it almost looks like it's hitting preflower, seems early. Compost tea on 04/08, just a bit, the feeding on 4/5 was... significant. Foliar spray of tea from 4/3-4/8, right before lights out. Them seem to enjoy it.

4/18 - 37 Days I moved things around to get Phimo more in the main light. She also had a very nice tuck. Tea coming up tomorrow, hoping to see a nice stretch explosion after that. 4/16 - 35 Days Looks like we're deep into pre-flower here, this thing is throwing some mad pistils. If it's anything like it's sisters it will go into full flower around 40 days. The Blumat Maxi watering carrot is doing excellent, I have not additionally watered this gal for a week and she's looking great. She did a very strong stretch over the last 4 days, have just started the ScrOG. I'll probably update a little bit later on tonight after the tuck! She got some compost tea, just a bit, on Sunday and Tuesday. Day air temperatures are shooting up and my RH is exactly the same, may need to humidify at some point, we'll see. Seems to be plenty of airflow in the tent right now.

4/30 - 49 Days Macros and a close look at the north and west stem. 4/29 - 48 Days 3rd day of tea today. The buds are starting to make themselves apparent. We had some small upward growth, I'm hoping they don't get too close to the light. This thing is absolutely fucking gorgeous. I'm not getting any purple yet, but the stems are purple as all hell. Would love to see it come out in the bud, but this one may not express it. We'll have to see! Cross your fingers for me! 4/26 - 45 Days Another few days of letting the plant grow without me fucking with it. One of the branches I had half snapped under the tension, didn't seem to effect the flowers. I've given the branch some additional support, so cross your fingers! 4/22 - 41 (Technically 42) Days Starting week six a bit early. Amazing stretch, Phimo quickly exploded out of the area I had planned for her and I had to split room with the other, more mature, plants. They're all getting along well but any further tucking on Phimo stops now, as I've run out of room again. The colas on the far left of the plant are getting a bit of supplemental lightning with the COB, but these have mainly moved under the LED for flower. No changes on the routine, blumat carrots are carrying all the lifting on watering, I'm stilling giving weekly teas.

5/7 - 57 Days Got lazy and haven't been brewing teas since these are so darn close to chop, just straight up water. She's looking great, colas are a starting to fatten up. I hope this one goes just as long as the others, cause it's gonna be a monster! 5/3 - 52 Days I didn't brew a batch of tea this week since I expect to be harvesting the other plants some time very soon. The growth on this one is confusing, the pistols started out looking like a small animal. It very likely has another solid 20 days to fatten up, so I'm hoping we get a massive yield from this one. I absolutely hope it starts to frost up at the end like the others, If so this one might be totally dedicated to rosin!

5/12 - 62 Days Been distracted with the drying and harvest of the other 3 strains, been neglecting this lady for a little while, but she seems fine with it. Compost tea has been brewing for 48 hours, this one took a really long time to bubble up! Fed the plant a bit last night, and a bit more tonight and tomorrow, then onto the garden plants with the rest of it! Going to be cleaning the tent around this lady, we'll be transition to a 2'x4'x15" fabric pot in this tent for a no-till set up!

5/17 - 68 Days Things are really starting to fatten up now. I'm seeing some flowers throwing a bunch of new pistols, but a few of the flowers already have the half and half brown and white look. The North and West stem are already looking like they're a couple weeks away. I'm going to give the entire plant probably another month though, at least another 20 days. Trichome production is much better than my other 3 plants of the same breeder genetics. I really don't know if it's me, the larger pot, nutrients, environment, genetics, but this thing is looking and smelling fantastic. Frost is looking great, looking forward to the trim on this plant. Lots of trichome production on these huge sugar leaves. Nothing like what I see from Mephisto and some of those other boutique breeders, but this one is looking and smelling very tasty. I'll very likely grow another one of these back to back.

5/23 - 74 Days! Trying to get some size comparison pics in, these were actually done under a burple! Google with the strong light correction game. 5/22 - 73 Days! New pictures a bit later, after a few days I'm much less worried about foxtailing, the new calyxes and pistils haven't started stacking except for a few cute fox tails here and there (normal). Everything looks frosty, even the new growth. This is also looking like it's going to be an exceptionally good auto for rosin! Lots of density, lots calyxes, but not fat and larfy, they're tight and frosty! I may squish a bit right after the dry and a bit after the cure, If I do I'll update the harvest post with it! 5/21 - 72 Days! So fuck! It's foxtailing, it's been hot lately, high 80's during the day, so it's either heat, but I know the strain is also known for foxtailing. I checked the trichs and were seeing some cloudy, some clear, and even a few ambers! If the fox tailing gets really bad (well, that's subjective) I'll probably chop them. It smells so fucking fruity and delicious, I'm looking to pressing this one!

Grow Questions

The last 1 to 2 weeks of this plant and this thing is throwing a ton of new pistils and a few new calyxes. The heat in the tent has gone up over the last few days to high 80's during the day. Is this a chop now worthy problem, hoping for more cloudy and 30% amber.

Going to answer my own question so I can close this. This was the plant beginning to re-veg due to stress/shitty genetics.

5/29 - Total dry weight after the trim is 67 including the bit I pressed. Decent yield, the buds are much looser than they appears while growing after the dry, they'll tighten a bit, but nothing special. It's a great smelling strain, effect is very nice, I'm happy with the yield. Again, without the reveg this would get much higher points. I think I'm going to immediately pop another of these and see if I have better luck! I also have a bunch of trim I'm allowing to dry another day. I'll toss that in the freezer once this is done and pull out some dry sift hash. Hopefully it smells just as good as the rest of the plant! 5/27 - Had a branch that was looking pretty crispy, so I went ahead and did some trimming for a taste test! -Strain gets points for flavor, that's for sure. It has an intense rose/floral scent and taste. It smells like someone is trying to cover up the smell of weed with rose potpourri, like literally. Literally, literally, not figuratively. Nice stoney high, did both the concentrate and the flower. Looking forward to grinding something a bit denser. So far it's a bit body, but a bit more head heaviness turning into a hazy euphoria (slow motion almost). I'm not feeling mentally lacking, I'm actually feeling a bit mentally free. If I had smoked it before the flavor and effect would be worth at least 1 star each! 5/26 - 77 days WE WERE SO CLOSE!!!! I loved everything about the strain, the smell, the look, the vigor, all of it. Then suddenly in the last week the fucker started to reveg. I released them from their ScrOG and found a branch that had been tucked in between a couple others, looked like a basil plant was hiding in my weed. I chopped the branch then started to take a good look at the others and started to see those little shitty basil leaves coming up all around. Shitty weak genetics fucking up at the last possible second. Thus far my experience with Grower's Choice Seeds hasn't been amazing! It's chopped and in the tent. One of the 3 large branches is 3 ounces, hoping I caught the re-vegging early enough so it didn't effect my yield too bad with extra stem and leaf material. Also stacked a couple new calyxes with immature trichs over the older calyxes with 95% cloudy. Fuck! I'll update after I trim the water leaves in 4 days and see how we're doing on the dry! Still optimistic, I'll be pressing a fair bit of this into Rosin and attempting to get the most out of the dry sift for rosin as well.

Looks nice.....have you seen Oregon's Only...organics....I like the Liquid Calcium aka Demeter's Destiny, the Medusas Magic 2-6-2, and the Zeus Juice Humic acid 5% RED BLACK COLOR .....but I also use some other not classified as organic MAGNUM mag Sul b1...and a PK boost too.... Looking really good....im going super substrate..i like the Coco loco mixed with the strawberry fields....after a 0.3g ocean forest start....

@@Wilson_McNugget, thank you my friend! I have not, I'll give them a look! I like to use a really basic carbohydrate just to start a tea (you just reminded me I need to start one for tomorrow night), I like the Trinity cause it has just a touch of additional humic acid, which is all I think I needed due to the super soil blend/living soil method. Right now this is almost entirely on tap water with just a weekly tea, no more Trinity every watering. I can't with the Blumat Maxi carrots, they'll clog up! The super soil is real my friend, bigger is better! I'm going even bigger next round with a 40 gallon long no-till pot I'll run a couple plants a time in. Appreciate the look out!
the end.
