Well hello again. I’m back again for round 2 on this northern light strain. I have included a video in this weeks diary. It a little information on how I grow. It may be a little cheesy. Week one and week 2 are so boring. Look forward to seeing you next week

This grow is now under 2 1000 watt viparspectra veg/flower light, these lights pull 360 watts from the wall fully lit up. Lights are 100% veg 25% flower. Next week will be removing bottom 2 leaves and most likely be topping. Check out my other grow 5 week of flower

She is recovering from surgery. This week we cut her quite a few times. Adding about 22 ounces of water daily. Will be using the game next week. We are going full strength on nutrients next week.

Other than having an issue with fungus gnats I think everything is gonna be ok. I saw one fly then I saw 15 flies. As of today I see no flies. Neem oil really works and I recommend having it on hand just Incase.

I think the fungus gnats are now at bay. I will continue to use neem oil every other day just as a preventative while in vegetation. She is now starting to show a little bit of stretching. Added a few tie downs to get her training in the right direction.

Haven’t seen any fungus gnats. I really lowered the watering down to 2 20 oz bottles every 2 days. She has put on a lot of growth the last 3 days. She will be crazy in the next few weeks. This is mostly indica so there will be little stretch. I remember from grow #1 So this a diary and not everyone grow will be perfect this grow will be dedicated to how to over come fungus gnats.

Fungus gnats I think we’re are getting close to the light and the end of the tunnel. Did a massive defoliation this week. I don’t want any leaves touching the bottom of the pot and the inside of the plant was so full of useless foliage. I have a new option coming in today and will be giving updates on that. This looks like it will be an eleven week veg maybe 12 weeks.

Well I think the fungus gnats are just about wrapped up. I had to go with a layer of sand and I bought a plant tray and put holes in it to help with watering. If you strait water sand it really can screw things up. Yeah week 8 is done and no gnats for a week. I have a whole new set up for next seasons grow. No gnats from day one. There will be a tutorial. Depending on fast she can do it, I’m guessing 2 more weeks of veg. I’m going for less colas this grow compared to last grow. More light penetration is my goal. And I will flower for 8 weeks and not five.

She is growing way different than northern lights grow 1.. The main tops on this grow are double in thickness than last time and I have decreased the number of tops. I’m gonna try less tops is more method. She is to strong for the scrog net. My goal is give each branch enough space to move, it was way to cramped last time.

There are still a few fungus gnats cruising around but for the most part they are under control. Next grow I have a totally different method I will be using. You have to wait till then to see. I’ve been super busy, sorry for the lack of photos.

Fungus gnats are almost a thing of the past. I will have a whole new method of growing to prevent gnats from ever making contact with the soil. I will beat this. Ordered a new tent and light I’m gonna go back to old fashion hps. I get way bigger and better buds. See you later

I’m pulling her down to the sides, opening up some light in the center. Since I’ve done this buds are starting to fatten up. Many clear trichomes and still a ton of white hairs. Last northern lights I harvested way earlier. I’m guessing flushing in a few weeks. I’m gonna cut back the nuits. I think I’m hitting her a little heavy. She has a little leaf burn but sometimes less is more. I gonna strait decreasing by half until flushing. There is a picture in her is it leaf burn or deficiency?

Wow the buds are getting so much fatter. She is putting on so much weight. The trichomes says it is time to flush so that is what I’m doing. I am already noticing deficiency since I started the flush. 3 days into flush ppms are about 130 on extracted water.

Check trichomes on lower buds they tell the story of what is really going on. This lady was double in size from the last grow. Only topped once on this one.

Wow unbelievable 7.9 ounces with almost 5 grams of hash. Other than the fungus flies giving me nothing but a pain in the ass. I beat them in the end. I will be taking different measures in the future.

@hiddencolorado, I like your LST technique...well done, man. Keep up the good work! 👍😎 You should hang up some yellow-sticky-traps, (special yellow plastic cards with glue on them, you can get any growshop) they attract fungus gnats and you can easily spot them there and react before they invest too much.
Compassionate_Gardener
Compassionate_Gardenercommented5 years ago
@@HiddenColorado, wow, that was a serious infestation...good luck with getting rid of them! Can't wait to see you train the shit out of her...lol
HiddenColorado
HiddenColoradocommented5 years ago
@Compassionate_Gardener, I do not hang I put on the soil and the babies flock to it like crazy. This is the worst case and only case I have ever had. I tried everything, now I covered the soil with sand so they can’t get in there at all. They are just about done
HiddenColorado
HiddenColoradocommented5 years ago
@Compassionate_Gardener,had to go to plan B and bring in diatomaceous earth on this one. I put a sticky card on the dirt and got 100’s of larvae and I’m not going to have them hatch. It’s been 3 days from adding the earth and still no flies. There will be a lot more LST and a scrog net in a few weeks. This northern lights does not stretch so I will be vegging long than last grow.

Beautiful grow 😍 Also, Im interested in your gnat warfare solutions...
HiddenColorado
HiddenColoradocommented5 years ago
@GanjaTorturer, so the gnats are really not a problem any more. I put a few inches of sand above my soil so they can’t lay eggs in the dirt then I added yellow sticky pads to the top of that. I also filled my lower water reservoir with sand so they can’t sneak in the bottom. I’ll add some photos of this in week 11.

Will be adding dry weight and effect later. Most of the buds on his plant were 3 ounces wet. Will have to break it down to get even drying.
the end.
