Growmates. Moving back to a coco based grow. My organic soil mix totally fucked me up last 2 runs. What a waste of time, but learnt a few things.
Mac was a heavy producer. Strong medicine. I am growing her again along with a kush clone, Blood diamond OG from Wonderland nurseries that I picked up a year ago.
Grow mates,
Transferred the healthiest clones to the big light. The Mac transplants easily. Mimosa next. Blood diamond ran into issues probably because of my carelessness.
Soilless mix so far. Coco only. Using Canna nutes and Myco Jordan. Plants are just starting to take hold. Cheers, all.
Early days. Slowly these ladies are finding their footing after a shaky start. Going to run them in cups until roots are packed. Probably another couple of weeks. Then transfer to 3 gals. I am going to skip the 1 gal intermediate step this time. Feeding Canna nutes at 1/2 recommended dosage in pure Canna coco. 350.ppm. Adding myco jordan. x2 per week.
Light is at 5ft.
Spectrum 25 40 40.
Cheers grow mates.
Nothing much to report. Watering 2-3 times per week maintaining 9 1/2 oz cup weight. Watering with canazym and rhizo and myco jordan. No nutes this week. The ladies are drinking about 1/2 oz per day and their roots are established. One more week and I will transplant.
My Blood Diamonds which were afflicted by god-knows-what, came back to life this week. I'll keep them in the window and if vigor returns, grow them out later. This Kush is truly a top shelf kush in smell, favor and effects.
Looking to do justice to the Mac's this run.
Everything is looking more promising this week. Cheers grow mates.
Grow mates, Potting up to 1 gal, not 3. I don't have enough coco and had to order. Soil mix is 2/3 mix of fresh coco, 1/3 organic mix from previous grow, 2 oz of Earthshine biochar per gal pot. Let's see how that goes. Feeding, Water, Water. Adding Jordan mycos at 2-3x per week. Light levels staying the same. Too high it seems but the girls will need to grow into it. Cheers all.
Growmates, Vegging to day 56 or so. Looking to maximize frost. Feeding Canna nutes AB, Canazym and Rhizo. Watering with Canazym and Rhizo only. FWW schedule. The Myco is starting to kick in and perhaps the soil composition as well. The new growth appears vigorous and without the stress of red petioles. We'll see. So far so good. Going to have some bushy plants in a few weeks. I gal pots are fed or watered to weigh 45oz. Range between 35-45oz.
Happy growing all.
Grow mates, The ladies are taking hold. Growth rate is improving but I have a conundrum. This round I fed one full strength feed of 820ppm Canna nutes in accordance with the Canna nutes chart. Is it Canna nutes or the Earthshine organics responsible for the elimination of the pink petiole affliction?
Earthshine biochar is probably providing a good home for the myco's I feed every round. We'll see. All good for now. Cheers all.
For the record: 1gal is made up of soil mix 5:5 new coco, old mix, 2 oz earthshine. old mix: 3:1coco, bu's blend, 1/10th earthshine. earthshine tea, flower finisher watered in.
myco 2-3x per week.
Grow mates, Veg is ongoing and growth is picking up. Stalks are thickening. Lighting up to 35,45,45 . Controlling VPD to some extent by adding humidifier. Leaf quality and size improving. 2 more weeks before flipping to flower window opens. Potting up soon. Most triple leaflet growth gone and plants are beyond the revegging stage.
Cheers all.
Potted up to 3 gals. using on coco as medium. There is a percentage of organics still mixed to previous 1 gal but that should equal to less than a 1/4 of total of the substrate at this point. Growth is looking good. I could go another week or two before flipping. Leaves are only just now looking fully formed. I pulled in the mother of Blood Diamonds to the mix. It will take a month to get her into tip-top shape. Probably won't wait that long. Leaf color throughout is otherwise deep and photophilous.
Ladies are shaping up for a good flower session. Happy growing all.
Growmates, Dailing down the day length and upping light intensity to keep the DLI constant. They grew a lot these last 3 days.
Stretching. I have been watering to the 10lb mark and letting them dry to 8 1/2lb range. About 3 days. Added Elite 91's Flower to the nutrient mix. Looks like a good product. Foliar Spraying with Elite 91 Silicic. And at lights out, Roots. Cheers all
Eased into flower dropping photoperiod length 2 hours every few days. I don't know if this makes a difference from switching to 12/12 instantaneously. Can't hurt to be gradual.
Upped the nutes and lighting. Want 500 micromoles spread over most of the canopy at flower time. 800 plus ultimately.
Watering is precise this time. I have a digital scale I use as a guide. Topping up every 8 oz. Schedule : FWW
Stem rub on the Mac is impressive. These are vigorous fast growing plants.
Happy growing all.
Flowers are coming on fast. I haven't seen such a quick stretch or fast flower before. This bodes well and I'll be interested to watch them evolve. Feeding once a day in the morning to keep pots at 10lb, roughly. I may be underfeeding. They respond well to full strength. Perhaps FWW schedule is too lean? Made a light trim so the plants can focus on the good bud sites. Elite 91 products are great, or is it canna nutes. TBH, I can't tell.
Pushing the garden pretty hard. Lighting up to85,85,85. Some leaves show signs of too much light or is it a nutrient issue? Fast growth is indicating good plant health even though a few parameters are not is an optimal range.
Happy growing all.
Grow mates, At F 18, I am happy with the speed of flower development. Mac's especially are crowning nicely. I wouldn't expect to see pistils like this until week 3 so slightly ahead of the curve here. They are looking nice and straight also so watering on point. Bodes well for good bud development. Upped my feeding after checking run off which was only 350ppm. A surprise. Better than over feeding though. Seeing the first signs of frost on the Mac's. The garden wafts of Mac cookie smell which is quite beguiling. Lowered ph to 5.7. Leaf claw is diminishing. Feeding at the water stage of the cycle. Ph'd water and Elite 91 Flower only which works out to be about 400ppm when administering at 2ml. per gal. Strong stuff. The stretch is not over yet. Hopefully over soon. I prefer to keep the lights 24" from canopy. Lower canopy at 500 micro moles. upper canopy 800 - 1000. Most if not all canopy will be fully ripe 7 weeks from now.
Happy growing all.
Growmates, Bud development is going well. Its only just past week 3. 6-7 weeks to go!!. Water schedule is dialled in and adding supplement Flower by Elite 91 as a bloom booster seems to be helping.
Light is at 100.100.100. Full on. Wondering when I should dial it back as I have seen on some lighting schedules. My room is running warm as I tend to leave the door closed and I have no a/c in there. All good though. Fingers crossed.
Grow mates, Garden is coming along nicely for week 4. Calyx's are starting to swell and get sticky. These buds will not disappoint. 6 weeks to go. Flora flex systems working well. Girls drinking 11 oz per day. I love the smelly stage and constantly visit the garden for aromatherapy. :-)
F wk5. Grow mates, the garden fell over. Buds are not well supported by branches. Mac's have heavy buds so not surprising except its week 5. The buds have 4 weeks to go and the calyxes are swollen and showing nice trichome coverage.
I am probably overfeeding the Canna nutes, although following Dawgo recipe. I am giving it a shot. Watering between feedings though.
Blood Diamond Kush's buds are tight. Bodes well. They are smelling a little minty, which I like.
The root masses have fully developed. Not easy to push my fingers below the surface of the coco.
Hoping for righteous bud. Cheers, all.
At F45. Mac buds are tightening up. They're going to be quite solid when ripe. Last week lots of brown pistils evident and are now replaced with new pistil growth and swelling calyxes. 3 weeks out to harvest window. Moving to flush mode. Girls are overfed in my estimation. This grow is different from my others as often at this stage smell is stronger but buds are dryer. These girls are still sticky and oily right to the top cola but not especially so. Bud development is still ongoing. This ripening process, timing wise, is different this time. It's going to coordinate better with the harvest window. Curious about this grow. Should be a weighty one.
Growmates, We're flushing. Watering at roughly 300ppm. Using Flower nutes to raise ppm to this level. Every other nute has been stopped. Nugs are firming up nicely and swelling. They are heavy. Not a lot of frost but plenty of trichomes. Smell is intensifying and there are solid signs the fade is underway. This run is going well enough but going to change my nutes next run. Might give the floraflex nutes a try. I can't help but notice, I got better frost when using Cogo's nutes, however, I was also starving the plants. The rest of my set up I am fairly comfortable with. Perhaps it will all come together next run. We'll see.
The harvest window is days away. Seeing amber on the Mac's. Not yet on the Kushes. Only feeding water and Elite 91 flower @ 300ppm. I have a lot of hard buds. The Kushes are rock solid. Mac's vary according to plant. Some firm some not. Sampled the Mac. 1-2 weeks out, perhaps sooner. This run is damn strong medicine. I really feel like I am in another dimension. Trippy.
Feeding/Watering 8 oz per day. Pot weight, roughly 11- 12lbs. Straight coco.
A much better grow this time around and the results are also superior in effects. Not sure if there are many strains more powerful than this one. The mature terpene smell leans toward a minty version of the banana. Love it but likely epigenetic effects influencing here also. This starship of a strain takes you to outer space very quickly. Its a nice ride. Effects for me can be quite visual in a super real kind of way. A vigorous growing plant. My grow room is warm. Not much I can do about that. Buds are firm but not hard like the Kush. All in all. This Mac is a special plant. No question. Hoping for a good cure. Will get back with final results.
@Hellishjam, Thanks for stopping by, bro. Good to see you bounce back stronger than ever and so beautifully after the wind devastated your grow last year.
