Popped these seeds on Monday (30/03/20).
Germination Method:
Soaked seeds in Vitathrive overnight and transferred to Jiffy pellets. I used the excess water with Vitathrive to soak the pellets 👍.
Two days later, what I’ll reference now as P1, popped out. P2 is two days behind. These seeds were sent from BF over a year ago.
Day 5 - Placed both in 1 Gallon fabric pot with an amended Coco Coir mix.
Grow medium (per 1 Gallon) in Vivosun 1 Gal Fabric pot.
Coco Coir, 1.5 TBSP of Gaia Green 4-4-4, 2 TBSP Earthworm Casting. I debated doing a synthetic run again but love the simplicity of using Gaia Green. I will start early giving the plants some Organic Cal-Mag for General Organics.
Outcome of mix TBD LoL...
Lights:
HLG 65W 4000k QB for the first 2-3 weeks depends on space.
HLG 95W - Week 3 to 6 or until the 3x3’ tent is open for business.
I plan (I change my mind on a daily so we’ll see) to do a two plant in a 3x3’ flowering tent under the HLG QB 288 (260W 3000k)
Game Plan
Last grows I had amended my mix with Feather Meal which caused Nitrogen Toxicity in both plants. For this run I plan to start extremely light and adjust accordingly, meaning I’ll top dress with FM as needed or maybe at week 2. Plants currently under humidity dome with vents open as I have the strawberry nuggets on the other side finishing up (need low humidity for the next two weeks). Veg time will be at most 6 weeks if I’m running both plants in my flowering tent. Recommend flowering time for this strain is 9-10 weeks therefore plenty of growth will occur once the switch is flipped to 12/12.
Why Phantom OG? We’ll I’m a fan of Sativa Dominant Hybrids. Read great reviews on this strain and looks like a strain that will produce enormous buds, to be seen.
Started this organic run with adding slight CalMag from General Organics to my water PH t 6.4 seem to be the sweet spot for my other runs. I am not rushing these one for growth therefore they have been underfed to buy myself some time as the flower tent finishes up in a month or so. Keeping these ones healthy with a good root system will be key to making clones before flipping the switch.
Haven’t done much to these plants yet. They’ve been lightly fed therefore little growth has occurred. This week they will receive a top dress and some seaweed extract and kelp, working on establishing good root based before They are moved to bigger pots in a week or so.
Little experiment going on here 1 was topped and the other as you can see is under LST. I’m obviously causing myself some issues later on down the road for plant height management but I want to compare for myself which will yield more.
Top Dressed with some Green Teas Veg mix to avoid them being depleted until transplant. It will also be the first time I'll be using mycorrhizae.
They have been struggling with low day/night temps but that has been rectified with my heat mat controller that I will use to regulate my heater. In approximately 1 week I will be looking at transferring them into there final pot unsure if I’ll be doing 3 or 5 Gallon or possibly a 3 gallon to a 5 gallon transplant but that would seem more work and hassle.
They finally got transplanted to 3 Gallon pots. I’m thinking I will leave them in 3 gallons until completion as it should help to limit plants size and finish on time, 8 weeks from now. It was overdue they are both showing slight signs of magnesium deficiency so I’ve increased my watering volume and calmag. My mix going into flowering is a 50/50 split of 4-4-4 & 2-8-4. They have exploded, first time using mycorrhizae and well look at them they are hungry and looking ready for flower.
I have now transferred them from my 95w light to the big tent under 270w. They overgrew the 2x2 section they were in. I’ll be flipping the switch on both. One seems to be little behind the other, she germinated 1.5 days later.
The one on the left was topped and the one on the right LST, I’ve done nothing more than start them both under 4000k light and this last week under the 3000k light. Keep in mind two different phenos, will be interesting to see if any difference in buds.
Last Veg week they are heading into flower now. They have been incredible to grow, very simple, wether its LST or topping there is very little difference between the two. Even with the light at 30+ inches they have tight internode spacing. Transplanting them one week earlier would of avoided me some minor issues but they are thriving as we speak. My watering program for this organic run is calmag added to 350ppms (city water comes out at 150ppms) ph’d at 6.1-6.3
Flipped to flowering mid-week 09/05/20
LST plant on left, Topped plant on right. Note I only topped once and LST for 4 days haven’t done one thing other than watering for several weeks now. These girls are about 10 days into flowering.
My mind is made up on using mycorrhizae along with the Gaia Green and Rhizo Blast as these girls are on fire 🔥. The leaves are silky smooth sign of excellent transpiration and VDP. Consistency is key and I’ve been able to maintain night temps at 69F and day time at 80. RH fluctuating from 45-64 from light on/off. I’m waiting/debating on defoliating this week or the next.
Another solid week of growth and I can now say we are well into week 2-3 of flower. Defoliated both phenotypes, one shows predominantly Indica structure (This one was topped) and the other which is showing more Sativa dominant traits was tied down for 4 days LST. It’s very obvious simply by looking at the leaves and one stretched more than the other. Will be interesting to see if any noticeable difference in effect and taste.
This week I’ll be introducing mineralized phosphate followed by top dressing next week of 2-8-4.
First series of pictures are the one that was topped and the back half of the pictures is the plan I LST. Regardless you can definitely see a huge difference in phenotypes. It will be interesting to see if there is noticeable difference in the taste and aromas of the flower.
The plants are very healthy growing strong. You can now noticed they are solely focussed on bud development. It will be interesting heading into week four of flower to see how they will change. I find this time in the grow Where it is most interesting. I top dressed With two 2-8-4, 4-4-4 and some mineralized phosphate. This will be all the nutrients until completion. The waters PH is maintained at approximately 6.0 - 6.3. Once a week I give them 1 to 2 mL of pure organic molasses. I find it very crucial to provide the plant adequate carbohydrates especially during the bud development.
The plants seemed to have completely halted their growth and now solely focusing on its flowers. I can start smelling this very sweet pleasant smell from both. I would say they both smell the same.
This grow is looking like a 9 wks flower and the 3 gallon pots are starting to look like a mistake for the bigger pheno, one I took cuttings from for her vigour and bud structure, elongated buds that stretch and will no doubt pack on some weight later. Some fan leaves are showing signs of nutrients depletion already, gave her 1 tbsp of 2-8-4 mixed in with some molasses and calmag. I don’t intend to supplement any further as there should only be approx 3 wks left.
Safe to say I have preserve genetic identity 😂
This grow is on cruise control, my anticipated harvest day is two weeks out. High humidity has been a struggle, I have to deal with 50RH for this run and will look into alternatives for the next run.
Nice trichomes developing on all bud sites, the smells most likely coming from her parental genes of Cherry Pie x Grand Daddy Purple (Phantom Cookies).
I already know this will be delightful to smoke, vape and bubble hash.
This week I focused on lowering Relative Humidity % and to my disappointment it seems 47 will most likely be what I need to content myself with. I have a small amazon dehumidifier lent to me by a friend, if anything its closed the RH fluctuating range to 15 and less %, weekly high was 62% obviously at lights off.
I haven’t checked trichomes yet but I figure I will harvest in two weeks with the fade already occurring with the topped pheno.
Terpenes are off the charts 🍭@Barneys 👊
****Update Dry To Cure Process***
All branches were hung 6 days ago with an average Temps/Humidity of 71F-61%RH.
They have now been broken down into smaller section but remain attach to the stems to allow the flowers to use up all and remaining water in the stems and to use whatever excess humidity for a slow dry before the cure. More pictures and details once I post the Harvest and dry weight.

Well this is the end of the journey and absolute pleasure they were both to grow. The odours every time I unzip the tent is Wowzers! Over the years I’ve grown a number of BF strains and I’ve yet to be disappointed more on that in my harvest review.
It will now be time to place them both in the dark as nothing is ready for flower just yet I can use the tent to hang dry and create the perfect drying environment to enhance the aromas by letting them further develop and cure into a bouquet of Walnuts and Berries as intended.
Very resilient strain with lots of vigour and excellent growth. Little to no training required. Two distinguishable Phenos, one stayed short and bushy with leaves resembling more Indica and the other had more stretch with more inter-nodal spacing showing her sativa side. Great hybrid would recommended to anyone who’s a fan of OG Kush with a twist.
