Pine Quest Oh yes dear peoples. 2020 is the year of my quest for that magic, enchanting piney taste. I really hope that at least one of the strains I'll grow has that taste. I germinated the beans on 28-03-2020. Location: the Netherlands I know, super (way too) early. But I want to harvest and dry the herbs before we go on vacation. So fingers crossed 🙏 they will be ready on time..... 😁 I call the week of germinating week 0 and start counting from this day, 5th of april as week 1. Wish me luck and kind regards! StealthyDutchGuy

12th of April Weather in the Netherlands is super nice. Seedlings seem very content in their little greenhouse. I give them very little water. That's about it I gueass... Cheers!

19th of April Weather is awesome for the plants. At least, for plants that are being watered. Rest of nature needs a bit of rain by now. Not much to say really. They look happy and are growing quite fast in my opinion. That is, for this time in the year. Thanks for checking my diary. Would love to hear from you. Cheers! SteathyDutchGuy You might have noticed there are quite some macro shots. Haha, maybe a bit too much. Happy with my new lens 😁👍

26th of April WW has got some weird curly leaves. I was thinking of Nitrogen tox. Maybe I had to put more light mix at the seedling area. Or, I'm still watering a bit on the low side. That's why today I gave a bit more. Also started with LST. That's because of the size of my greenhouse. If I don't do it the greenhouse will be too small in a few weeks. Any tips on the leaves are welcome. At this stage I'm not too worried about it. If it's a N problem she will grow bigger and get over it. If it's a caused by under watering she'll also grow over it. Finger crossed :-) Thanks for reading! Take care, StealthyDutchGuy

3rd of May Weather, a bit rainy and also some sunny days this week. Night temperatures are quite low. Yesterday I decided to go out and prune my auto's. Yes, I know that it's not advised for autoflowers. But there are people that do it, so I thought I'd give it a go. I actually did not want a lot of side branches with tiny popcorn buds. I really hope that by pruning my buds will get thicker/harder. If the yield will be a bit lower, so be it. So, she has some weirdly curly thing going on in her leaves. Cannot be the watering, I think. Maybe it's still a bit too cold at night in the greenhouse?! Quite interesting to see that the Dinafem OG CBD doesn't seem to be affected by the temperatures. I'll make a quiestion on this situation.... 😀👍 Very curious what this can be.....

What is the cause of the curly twirly leaves? I am thinking it could be the cold nights. I have a heat-mat in the tiny greenhouse, but still it can get minus 10 Celcius in there. Watering, could be? The Dinafem OG CBD Auto does not seem to be affected by this. Thank's in advance!

Hey my friend ;-) The temperature is definitely too low, this should be between 20-26 degrees depending on the variety, some more, some less. but for the fact that it is so cold with you, your plants still look really great :-). Try to get the temp up by insulation, etc

Yes, the pictures are horrible.... 10th of May Oh my, the weather was awesome this week. Today the weather turned around, windy and cloudy. Forecasts say it will get better wednesday. WW seems quite happy, she is also taking the LST and pruning quite well I think. If I compare the plants (WW and OG CBD) to my grows last year, they are going quite well. I think mainly because of the weather. If I compare her to the OG CBD, she's slower probably has some more troubles due to the cold nights. So, well, that's it for now I guess.. Also will start feeding her some BioBizz Grow this week. Cheers!

16th of May Weather has been o.k. this week. Little on the cold side compared to the weeks before. In the mornings about 10 degrees, afternoons 17 degrees more or less. Sunny in the afternoons. I gave 1ml/L BioBizz Grow this week. Maybe next week I'll up it to 2x a week. Last year I think I might have fed the first run of auto's a bit too much because I had very light N issues. She looks happy. I prune each other internode and the node I keep I chop 1 side. Very curious for the results. Oh, when I take off the lid of the greenhouse there's that 'I'm growing weed' smell coming towards me..... Love it 😁🙌 That's it for now. I really hope you are doing well, all the best whishes, StealthyDutchGuy

This week my WW started getting pale? I tried to look on examples on the net of discoloring leafs. Is this a Zinc defecienty? She seems to be struggeling a bit because of the colder nights. Could this also be due to that? Looking forwards to your answer, dear question replier!

24th of May Weather was quite nice this week. (Pre?!) Flowers appeared in quite a flash so to say. Was quite surprised! So I stopped LST and hope that the training will have it's positive effect on the buds. I upped the nutrients because I think I underfed her a bit. It seems like the lighter leafs are getting a bit darker now. Could be suggestive?! Anyway, I don't know for sure what's the matter with her, but I hope it wil dissolve. If I think of the flowering of the plants I had last year, she seems to be flowering MEGA fast. I hope I won't get any more issues with the leafs. Fingers crossed! Oh, and I started giving BioBizz Bloom alongside the Grow. That's about it I guess. Bye bye!

31st of May Weather is good. Sunny, I think the night temp is about 12 degrees Celcius. The struggling widow still isn't looking happy pappy. For the discolouring young leaves (and brown/yellow spots) I started thinking it might be a zinc deficiency. Decided to lower the PH of my tap water to 6 - with apple vinegar. I hope I'm on the right track, but I think I see the tiny sugar leaves recovering. The older leaves cannot really recover, so I've read. But it doesn't really seem to slow down the bloom. Any tips are welcome, If you think I'm on the right track, please let me know. I'm not that confident with this situation. Great regards, best whishes and a big digital hug (if you want it or not), StealthyDutchGuy

7th of June Weather is quite cloudy and rainy this week unfortunately for this particular plant. Rest of the vegetation in the Netherlands is quite happy with the rain I guess. It seems like she is kind of recovering as the leaves seem to be getting greener, at least the new growth. She's thickening, not much more to mention. I still give her 'sour' water with a PH of 6. Happy growing! StealthyDutchGuy

15th of June Weather is quite cloudy this week. I think she's doing quite well. I'm beginning to think my approach of PH'ing to 6 works! The new (sugar) leaves are looking quite healthe green. Every day she's aiming her leaves up for catching sun rays. Loveley to see. But uh, is it me or are these buds like super leafy? Not complaining, just noticing. Trichomes started oozing out this week. No, not really off course. Don't believe that. But they where there already, but it seems a lot more right now. Also on the sugar leaves. Oh, made a simple roof for shelter from the rain. I notice that in all my other diaries of this season. But I am so NOT placing that picture in this diary. Oh no my friend. There are boundaries you know.... That's it for now lovely peoples. Cheers, stay calm and may the force be with you. StealthyDG ------------------- Update 16th Finally, but I forgot to mention, smell is getting stronger. It smells fruity. Not piney. 😶

21st of June Weather is this week was sunny and sometimes showers. Miss WW seems to be enjoying het last weeks on this planet. New (sugar) leaves are green and 'praying' for sun most of the times. This plant has the biggest buds I grew so far. Really like the effect of pruning. Wonder how much she'll yield. Hope more than 15 grams, that would break my record of last year. Haha, I know, it's not much but I started really early in the Dutch season. Think I will harvest her tomorrow because most trichomes are milky and there are also quite some brown ones. Any comments on this? Please tell me, still quite a noob 😁 Planning on making dry-ice-hash from her and I'll leave a small bud to dry as 'normal' flower. Love and peace! StealthyDG

Harvested her on 22nd of June, the day after I did week 12 here on G.D. Was hoping for a bit more weight. First time I am going to do a fresh bud dry-ice hash shake. I put one branch of 10gram in my drying closet, just to be sure that I have something if I completely mess up…. The shaking in my self made shaker went quite well. It has a 150 micron mesh. The first shake was for about a minute and yeilded 1gram of kief. second shake gave me 1,4 grams. I let the kief (super sticky) dry for 1,5 days and now it’s in the freezer at -22 Celcius. With the left over dry-ice I also sifted my Hindu Kush. These buds where dried and cured (1/2 year). The results from that look quite a bit better. No green smell, very nice. Have to make hash of it still but for now it’s in small airtight jars. I didn’t test it out yet. Not sure If I would do this again, because the second shake allready had quite some green ish colour. Wonder how this will taste. Next harvest I will do a dry and than a cure and than a dry sift. Any comments on this are super welcome. I will definitely do a effect/taste update when executed. Stay tuned! Cheers!
