First grow, did a bunch of research and talked to some buddies so lets see how this goes. Ordered a Vivosun Grow Kit with the basics: Tent: 24"x 24"x 48" (growing in apt, somewhat space limited) Light: 300W LED Vivosun Vivosun Carbon Filter/Exhaust Fan Vivosun Timer Clip on Fan (Amazon) Germinated 2 strains, 3/per strain, (paper towel method), both photo-period (90% sure) and non-feminized (100% sure): 1. Green Fire (Fire OG Kush x Green Creek) BB Seeds - bought in dispensary, no website, no information online...questionable...SATIVA...I think. 2. Sweet Honey Nugs (88 G13 HashPlant x (PNW HashPlant x NL#1)) Equilibrium Genetics - also bought in dispensary, INDICA dominant. Seems way more legit. After seeds cracked, plants were placed in Coco Coir/Perlite Potting Mix in a Solo Cup (lower fertilizer charge). Ordered Coast of Maine Stonington Blend (SB) Organic Grower's Mix (super soil) and plan to transplant seedlings into final pots with COM once it arrives (should be a day or 2). For Nutrients, I also have SB Organic Plant Food for veg and SB Buds and Blooms for flower. Haven't quite determined the scheduling on when I'll start using these. Notes/Observervations: Started 6 plants with the anticipation there will be some Males. I hope I'll end up with 3-4 that I get to flower.

Week 2 Status: All seedlings still in solo cup with coco coir/perlite mix, water only. I started with 6 seeds and I'm down to 4. Green Fire: 2/3 seeds never popped up out of the soil so I scrapped em. The sole Green Fire seedling is seemingly stuck with just it's cotyledon's (see pics), very odd, it was the first to rise but still has yet to show it's true leaves. Sweet Honey Nugs: 3/3 seeds popped up out of the soil and they are looking strong, hope they just keep on keepin on. Game plan is to allow plants to develop until 4th node in cups, transplant to 3 gallon pots with Stonington Blend Organic Grower's Mix, let it grow to 6 nodes and top between 3rd and 4th node. Notes/Observations: Turned on both "Veg" and "Flower" Light switches, opposed to last week's just "Veg" light; no change to lamp height. Week 2 is really first week of actual growth, Week 1 was germination/potting.

Week 2, day 16, the first plant to sprout (Green Fire) still only has it's first leaves (day 8 with cotyledon's). Other plants (separate strain) have now sprouted and surpassed the Green fire in terms of having true leaves. What's going on here?

Does not look to have a growth tip, you can see better if one is not there it will never do anything. May as well wait though not that far behind.

Week 3 Status: All seedlings still in solo cup with coco coir/perlite mix, watering every 2-3 days and mixed in my first 1mg/2L calmag on one of the waterings. Kept the Light at 32 inches up until now; week 4 will be the first week with a light drop down to 18 inches above the highest plant. Green Fire: The seedling finally showed it's first growth, looks a little twisted up (most likely due to stunt) but at least it's present. Hoping it really starts to take off this week. Sweet Honey Nugs: No update, just letting them do their thing. As soon as the leaves start to reach the edge of the solo cup I'll transfer, initially was hoping to transplant today (week 3 end) but probably going to give them another week before making the move.

Rough week 4 with two with 2 main events: 1. Weeks 1-3 were done without a pH meter, it finally came and I found out I've been watering (tap) my plants with 9.4 pH water. 2. My dog peeked into my tent while my back was turned and munched on 2 of my plants. After finding out about the pH I transplanted the plants from their solo cups into 3 gallon pots with a mix of Coast of Maine Organic Grower's mix (75%), Perlite (15%), and Coco Coir (10%). First watering I bought 2 gallons of spring water (couldn't find distilled), added 1tsp calmg/gallon water, and pH'd with a bit of lemon juice down to 6.5. As I was cleaning up after the watering, the smell of wet, fishy, soil wafted about the room and my dog decided to taste test the two closest plants (see pics). 1 was already the runt (Green Fire), the other was on par with my two bigger ones (Sweet Honey Nug). In light of these events, I'm taking them as lesson's learned and moving on. It makes total sense why my plant's aren't as far along as I'd hoped but they're all photo-period so I feel like if I do the right thing from here on out they should be able to bounce back but maybe add a few weeks to the veg.
