Germinating Phantom OG today, March 23rd. This will grow indoors with coco/Gaia/Castings under LEDs until I transplant outdoors into fabric pots with organic soil / Gaia 4-4-4 at the end of May.
Moved into a 5 gallon pot. Adjusting well.
Still under old Mars blurple in Tent #2.
Less than a month until it goes outside!
Grow has picked up. Still looks healthy.
Diatomaceous earth visible. Same for sticky traps. No pest issues, just preventative as I see the odd fungus gnat around.
Little training, other than strategic fan leave removal to expose and create even growth upwards of each “cola”. I don’t want to change the structure of the plant yet, but I have removed the bottom two nodes over time. Lessons applied from last year’s low yielding bottom colas. Likely more to come outdoors.
Dropped hours to 17 to get closer to the 15 we will have outside in a few weeks.
A week of battles for this tent. Lotta pest activity. Bulb mites and Nematodes (never going to have regular perennial flowers and dahlia bulbs in the tent again), lessons learned.
Active pest strategies tried:
- listerine / water soak
- Neem oil / water soak
- Dr. Bronner soap / water soak
- worm castings to boost balanced microbial life
- insect Frass to provide chitin
- diatomaceous earth top dress
- mosquito Dunks prior to organic amendments to deal with any eggs/larvae in soil
Transplanted in 30 gallon fabric pot this week. Mycorrhizae, Insect Frass, liquid Fish hydrosylate, Humic & Fulvic Acid, Malted Barley, Aloe Vera powder fed to soil this week.
Really putting on size. So impressed with the results post-transplant to the outdoors. I like her structure too. All side branches look like they’ll come into their own and be robust. Not sure how many, if any, I’ll have to remove from the bottom while on my popcorn free quest...
Very evenly spaced growth continues. It’s almost so spread out I don’t have to do any defoliation. I love it. Has responded well to topping.
I top dressed the soil with 4-4-4, Kelp meal, Alfalfa meal, malted barley, Humic & Fulvic acid, aloe powder.
No feeding this week other than water. No defoliation or training. She’s catching up to the others in size and has responded pretty well to being topped.
Just a little bit of defoliation needed. Really spurred the past two weeks, I love it. She’s got great bud site spacing going on. Hope she works out and finishes in good time.
Top dressed soil with Gaia Green 4-4-4 and first dose of 2-8-4, Alfalfa meal, Kelp meal, Insect Frass, Aloe Powder, molasses, fish hydrosolate. Attempting this grow without worm casting tea. Lake water as usual (it’s about 6.8ph normally, with double the Cal / Mag as most lakes 👌🏼)
