Due to some seeds failing to sprout, I had to pop a few extras and that's why they are not all the same age. The NL is 2 weeks old, the cream cookies are 10 days old and the West Coast OG is 7 days old. The ones on the back are on 1 liters fabric pots, the other 2 are currently on party cups that will be transplanted to the 2 liter pots the cups are sitting into. I will TOP the NL at the 1st node and remove 1 of the side shots, to delay it to give the younger WCOG time to catch up. Also, this time I'm thinking of pushing the watts per sq ft higher than I've done before

It's been a week. What's new? Since I want all plants to finish more or less at the same time, I topped the NL to the 1st node and removed one of the side shots and thus leaving the 4 plants more or less a the same stage of development. Sometime during the 3d week I'll top the 4 plants so they develop 2 colas each. I'm still only feeding water with cal mag only.

At day 17 I topped the 4 plants to the 1st node. So far I'm still feeding only cal mag, next week I'll start them on growth nutes. I expect a surge of growth during the next 2 weeks, specially the NL, been the oldest it is bound to have a more developed root system.

Another week has gone. It took most of the week for the plants to recover from the TOP’ing and are about to start stretching. I also removed the 4 secondary side shots from each plant, since I want them to focus on developing only two colas. The NL, been the oldest and having a more developed root zone, recovered the fastest. The two cookies took longer, because I overwatered them a little, a simple mistake since they are in bigger pots than the other two. I’m also changing into flowering lights.

5 week have gone. I made a few mistakes and did some over watering last time. Both cream cookies are much shorter than the other 2 strains. Next week will see some stretching I think, Those plastic bags that can be seen are covering some small party cups where I germinated some orange seeds, just for the sake of it.

Flowers have starting to show, For some reasons both cream cookies are much shorter compared to the other two; I don't know why though, since they are on the bigger pots, I expected otherwise. Update: I forgot to mention, temperatures are finally low enough for me to use both set of lights, the led strips along the led bubs for a grand total of 180 watts (or close), which will put me at 78 watts per sq ft.

And 7 weeks have gone by. The West Coast OG is currently the tallest of the 4 plants with a total of 22 inches; then the northern lights with 18 inches and in last place the cream cookies with 16 and 14 inches. This week I started feeding the plants with something other than cal-max. Actually mid week I switched the cal-max to epsom salts, since I had a noticeable Mg deficiency.

8 weeks have gone and the end is near. Plants are in cruise control mostly. I had to do some super cropping on the West Coast OG, some lollipoping on both cream cookies too since they had too much side shots under the canopy level. Other than that, there’s nothing to report.

9 weeks and we are at the end of the run, almost. First, usually during fall and winter I turn down the exhaust fan to the minimum and grow autos at 20/4 or even 24/0 to keep the grow space warm and it has worked fine. This time I’m trying something different; I kept the exhaust at max speed but I’m keeping the led bulbs on (usually I would remove them when turning the led strips on during flowering). I know I might be pushing the light beyond saturation point, but I want to see the impact on yield. It would be great to get close to 1 gpw using close to 80 watts per sqft. During spring or summer this would be impossible, since at 40 watts per sqft I struggle with temperatures, which is where I’m usually at. In case anyone cares or is wondering in veg I use 27.8 watts per sqft, in flowering I regularly use 42.3 watts per sqft and currently I’m using 76.7 watts per sqft, with a growth area of 2.27 sq ft. Not much to do other than wait; the eight main colas (two per plant) are all at the same height, with a bit of training on the WCOG. They are coming along nicely, with the northern lights a little further along the way. So far I see no difference between using 1 liter pots or 2 liter pots, except that the 2-liter pot plants had much more side shots, which I removed anyway, although we still have 1 or 2 weeks to go before harvest.

We are at the 10 weeks’ mark, which is the reputed finishing time of the three strains The colas are a thing of beauty, this is the first time I have such big colas, I usually have a whole bunch of smallish buds. Both cream cookies and west coast OG have had some incredible growth and have put on a lot of weight I think another week and we are done. Update: I decided to chop at a total of 72 days. I manicured the buds and they are now hanging to dry

Have you tried growing in pure worm castings? or a mix of castings and coco? How did it go? If you used a mix, how much of each did you use?

I try one time and only with worm castin and did not work very well you need something else to make it more Airy otherwise you just end up with muddy soil when you water them making it hard for roots to develop what I have found out to be the best is mixing something like Coco Loco or Koko pop from fox form with worm cast at no more than 35% more than this and you start to create a very muddy clay-like soil .you can also use others like Hydroponics soil and I have great results with those what I have not use is worm castings with perlite only to see how that works out but every time I used too much of worm casting it has become muddy medium not too good. Hope this tip helps you out have a happy grow

I had fun growing pseudo SOG style. Anyway it seems that 1 liter fabric pots beats 2 liter hard pots; they were also easier to train. Food for thought, I should have topped at the 3d node or 4th even, removing all the lower side shots, topping to the 1st node made the recovery really slow; which I’m supposed to know. A big thanks to @Female_Seeds, the Auto Northern Light (which I got in some contest here on GD) was a delight to grow, it been specially suited for SOG, since the plant produced few side shots, which once removed, allowed the plant to focus on the two main colas. Too bad I do not have more autoflowering seeds from you guys. Same to you @Fast_Buds, the West Coast OG was great for this experiment too. I’m not implying that the Cream cookies was in anyway bad, but I had a harder time controlling its tendency to produce side shots.

Anyone here uses blumats? I'm thinking of getting them for my setup. How do you agitate the solution in the reservoir? a water pump? air stone? Nothing at all?
