14.04 - Got seeds before equipment and I was impatient so I improvised for now. Put it under 24W CFL in attic. 250W LED is traveling from China, but CFL lights are ordered local and should arrive this week. Soil from plant that died out last year.
15.04 - Lights arrived this afternoon and they are massive, I had no idea. Got 200W CFL blue/white for growth and 250W red for bloom. Also got clay pebbles today but soil will be delayed by a lot. Will decide tomorrow if I will order from somewhere else instead.
List of stuff I need to order:
- Soft wire for LST
- PH tester
- Spray bottle
- Syringe for dosing nutrients (got small dosing cup as promo from my shop, so done)
- Alternative better soil because I ordered cheapest soil for regular houseplants (done)
- Got 6L pot but I should probably get bigger pots, probably 19L textile (done)
- Ropes for reflector, currently using audio wire, they didn't had ropes in stock
16.04 - In addition to stuff marked done, also ordered PLAGRON - Lemon Kick for PH
Rope and PH tester should be available next week.
Just a tiny bit water today, top soil was dry.
17.04 - 50L of Canna Terra Professional and fabric 5 gallon pot arrived today, along with Plagron Lemon Kick. Shop also sent me bunch of promo materials (smoking paper, lighter, etc) and small dosing cup which I really needed, so I dont need syringe now :) I got bunch of Arduinos with WIFI so I'll order some humidity/temperature sensors.
Growth feels bit slow, and thats probably because of humidity, I'm not sure if this will impact plant long term. Added more soil to pot, seedling started falling over due to dry soil and handling.
17.04 - After reading other diaries, I'm pretty sure my problem is temperature and humidity I cannot control right now, since I don't have all the gear yet. What I should have done is putting it into plastic bag for humidity. Never mind, for first run I'll be happy with anything, as long as I learn. This is such a magnificent plant.
I've got Plagron 100% Natural set which includes following:
50 ml Alga Grow (NPK 4-2-4)
50 ml Alga Bloom (NPK 3-2-5)
50 ml Power Roots (NPK 0-0-2)
According to grow schedule on package, I should be adding Grow and Roots during first week, when should I start with them?
It depends on what's in your existing soil. If there are any fertilizers in your soil currently, you may not have to feed for up to several weeks. If your soil is not fertilized, they will probably need to be fed within the first 2 weeks. Just watch the plant, it's better to let them get a little hungry and feed them vs overfeed and kill them overnight.
18.04 - Repotted, new soil is rich with nitrogen, I might start adding some potassium later this week. Pretty sure temperature in my attic is bit too high, added fan to blow air out. Ordered humidifier.
19.04 - Added few pictures. I've been reading a bit more about nutrients and since I repotted into hot soil I won't be adding any nutrients until I see any deficiency signs. There are some amazing examples on the internet.
20.04 - She is making so much progress, you can literally see difference every hour.
21.04 - Thermometer fell over her, and one of the newest growths fell off, I was heartbroken. She seems to be doing ok for now, pic in grow question. Humidity is low (35%), waiting for humidifier, hopefully will arrive day after tomorrow.
Thermostat fell on her because of fan, and one of the new growths fell off, other one looks mangled, will she survive? If she does, how bad will yield be affected?
Man thats kind of a nightmare, be patient take good care of her and see what she does, I think it will recover as a growth tip still there.
Going to watch this as it going to come up eventually.
27.04 - Everything looks fine, noticed smaller development on the side where we are missing a leaf.
30.04 - Picked up the pot and noticed some roots poking out, decided to repot before it would be too late. Tried LST, about 6 new growths are now leveled. Tucking other bigger leaves under these new growths.
Some bottom leaves are wrinkly and where bound to eachother. These are new growths that grow from first 4 leaves. I'm having hard time googling the issue. What could cause this and should I be concerned?
