Moved plants to permanent grow space after receiving new grow light; 600W Likesuns LED light. Not big investment with first grow, from clones. Noticed some brown tips on lower leaves, had a few small ones die... Potting soil is ProMix Tomatoes, vegetables and fine herb organic mix, with MychoActive. Ended up testing soil pH later.

Finished up week 5 with some continued LST, cut off some lower leaves and watered with nutes... Soil has been retaining a lot of water and can only be watered every 5/6 days... pH has been a bit of an issue, so I added some Dolomite Lime to adjust - did so at beginning of week, and then at end... Raised pH ok. Turned on both Bloom and Veg on LED.. sooooo much more light! With a few days adjustment and some water, the results were awesome! Finally swing some serious filling in with the LST... Hard to measure height of plant ;). I added a small CFL (60w) to one end of space, to add some white light + increase light in area - plants seem to like it. I've switched plants' positions every 2 days - even out light access and air flow for each plant.

LST + SOG - Should/could I remove the LST ties once I place a trelace net over the plants? My plants haven't grown upwards much due to the training/tying down to the pot... A tent and filtration are enroute to support operation, prior to flowering...

Yes you can do it and when she will be free from her ties it will change her shape. The only difficulty here is to manage the plant under the net as you will have to put every tops in the net holes

Start of week 6 Veg... Bushing out a bit with lots of filling in with the LST. More to come week's end. Only 8hours after watering, with nutrition (2.5+liters of a 5L/15mg water+nutrition mix, see photo), new growth can be seen, plants showing some stretching to the lights.. new light (white 60W CFL) may be causing stretch...? Most of photos are from 8hrs after watering... New LST training...

I'm going into flowering stage soon and was wondering about defoliation of the lower leaves after doing some LST - stretching out branches horizontally... Should I remove the lower leaves, focus on the bud sites access to light?

Hi @Growery yes you can do some defoliation on leaves that are shading the shoots but do it in small quantities, you can also cut some shoots that are at the bottom of the plant. the plant is not very dense in terms of leaves, too much defoliation can create problems for the plant. good luck mate 👍

I just moved my plants into a tent and watered, with nutrition (as above)... I saw two leaves that showed up with a rusty, burn to it... A few thoughts: 1- pH... It's been at about 6.5/7, but leaned a little high this reading. 2- Light burn... 3. Nutrition difficiency?

Mid week report: Days 54+55 in Photos above... Day 54: Pruned and LST and water with nutes ( switched to bloom nutrition from Canna). pH was high on runoff. I rearranged the plants to switch sides and light exposure/fan blow... Took a lot off one plant to open up bud sites and take off some dying lower leaves with no light... Day 55: plants have rebounded well, but one still showing signs of Cal Mag Def... pH lockout is likely cause... to be fixed. Plants seem to be liking the 12/12 lights and after only a few days, showing growth! Sprayed one plant with Foliar Optical Spray.

PH issues with plants gave some problems after watering with nutrition. One plant was showing signs of Calcium deficiency, but main issue was pH... Over fed plants with second watering in week that had nutes, waited a few days and flushed with water at 6.4 ( Root Farm pH kit), no nutrients, defoliation and adjusted LST. I drilled holes in the bottom sides of the pots I'm using to hopefully add more air to system, increase drainage. Plants not drying for a almost 5 days...hoping holes help. Lots of bud sites! Waiting to use trellis net for SOG... Added on last day of week... Going into week 3 of flowering.

Start of week 3 flower: watered with pH balanced water with nutrition and Cal/Mag; adjusted SCROG net - holes are too big/net is too big for tent, need to replace, but the canopy is pretty even; defoliated some under brush, small bud sites and damaged leaves to open up plants; adjusted LST ties to keep canopy even and give lights access to buds... LOTS of bud sites!! Early week pics, day after watering+feed...

Scary week with heat up to 35°C in the tent, and humidity very high... Managed the heat for a few days with some ice and a fan before outside temperature dropped. Most of pics from end of week, a few before defoliation and water+feed. Great looking early flowers. A few stronger leaders, but a mostly even canopy.

How does my SCROG look? Being my first grow, I've been trying to maximize my space using several techniques: HST, LST, defoliation and now SCROG (trellis netting)... Experienced growers/users of SCROG, please give some input.

Honestly I don't think you need the scrog net as you've done such a great job with your lst, the scrog is almost unnecessary! 🌱👍😄

Mid week photos (day 83, week 5 flower). Raised up netting to allow more space for flowering, LST seems to be sufficient for even canopy. End of week 5 flowering, Day 86. Watered with nutrition, solution pH 6.5. Temps in tent lower - 26°C.

Early in week 6 of flowering and I'm seeing lots of dead leaves and some funky stuff with some buds... Is this heat issues, over watering, nutrition?? Photos in this week all show issues... Thanks to some help from the community, I have tried to fix the issues I'm having with leaves... Like something wrong with roots... Over fed. Flushed with H2O2, brought one plant outside, waiting for them to dry out, then feed with higher potassium... Not sure if Canna TerraFlores is sufficient for entire flower cycle... More to be revealed!!

Ah soil aint it a trip Better pics would be nice but Ok wont try and tell you exactly whats up here as its far too busy with issues, can say is what I would do finding that in the tent. First gotta get some run off to test and a good bit of it so its a decent sample however... those roots look like they may be in trouble, I would get that run off using 0.5% H2O2 flush. 30C isnt bad enough to cause real damage just wont like it much, an organism could have set up in the pot though due to the heat thus the H2O2. WILL NOT HURT THE PLANT Like for use on your skin just keep it low less than 2% and this case does not really show it needs that. Test the run off multiple times smell it just find out what you can from it. That is what I would do just IMO the culprit may come out in the wash Seriously good luck let us know

Ended last week with a flush of H2O2 and let it dry out untill yesterday, day 95. Watered with a higher potassium nutrient for tomatoes/flowering fruit. Plant 'B' is still suffering and remains outside - likely not the same light, temp, elements... This morning it looks like it's dying... Plant 'A' has rebounded better and remains in the tent... More consistent light schedule and higher heat from tent and lights... Photos tonight. Photos update from June 17... Plant 'A' has rebounded well and will likely finish in 2 weeks. Plant 'B' may become a re-veg project and be left outside for the summer. Maybe it can rebound for a harvest in Fall??

Mid week 8 Flowering: Plant 'A' has rebounded ok after the H2O2 flush. Just watering with pH 6.2 water, no nutes... Took off the LST ties and added SCROG net to support some of the buds for final week... Will water again later this weekend, then harvest beginning week of July... Likely need some direction on harvesting techniques - total darkness for 24hrs prior? - day or night for best harvest...? I'll post pic of Plant 'B', that died, but I pulled out and am letting dry out... End of week 8 flowering... I'm going to give her a last drink of water, then turn the light out for the week (heading to cottage) and harvest on my return. The tricolmes looking a little milky... See what happens. Photos will follow pre+post harvest!

Again, this is a preliminary comment, as I will dry and cure for at least 2 weeks before "tasting"... As for the grow; this was my first and I started with 2 clones and finished with 1... I learned a lot during the process and invested some money in better gear and watched and read a ton of articles, and videos... Especially grateful for the community in Grow Diaries for the support and answering my newbie questions! I will post again in 2 weeks for the actual results!! OSU!!
