GHS White Widow CBD Auto. A seed given to me by a friend to try. Will experiment and see if I can get anything out of this as we come into the winter months. I will try to extend light periods as much as possible by bringing inside each night. See how we go. So far she looks nice and happy. 🍻
So far so good with this one. It’s healthy and growing well in beautiful autumn conditions here. Notice it is a little more sparse than the photos, and that’s ok, I think this is standard for cbd strains. No great expectations from this one, just hoping for a handful to experiment with mixing with my top shelf bud to try and find a nice cbd/thc balanced ratio. Cheers 🍻
Week 4 , first LST this week pulling the top down with a tent peg, already the lower growths are taking off. This is a pretty resilient one so far despite my twisting and tucking of fan leaves. So far so good 🍻
Week 5. WW CBD is away now. After tying down, the smaller growths have finally taken off and hairs are popping up everywhere. Nutes to change from now and ready to flower out now. It’s a hardy strain and I am happy with how much veg I got out of it before it flowered, should be a decent size in the end for an outdoor auto. Cheers all 🍻
Week 6 WW CBD is doing well enough. The branches are getting taller and thicker, and the buds are popping up a bit more now. I have switched the feed and cut out the extra lighting since last week, so hoping for the buds to fatten up a bit in coming weeks. Not sure what to expect from here really, I haven’t grown cbd before. All in all things are going well for this one. 🍻
Week 7 WW CBD is doing well. It hasn’t really grown much but the buds have fattened and the resin is increasing . It also already has a beautiful smell which is a surprise for its size. It looks like it won’t get much bigger so here’s hoping the buds start to put on a bit of weight from here out. All in all it is really nice and deep green and healthy. I am loving this premium soil mix, it has been such an improvement on organic. Happy so far. 🍻
Week 8. Buds have become a lot frostier this week, and put on weight nicely. I’m not sure if the other branches are going to fill up but the crown is stacked and she smells just unreal. Very strong smell all of a sudden! It has pretty much stopped growing, so hoping to get her to fill out despite the weather cooling further in coming weeks. Hard to believe this won’t get me really stoned, because the smell and resin is magic. 🍻
Week 9. This Little plant is really cool. Sometimes I think it’s doing nothing then all of a sudden it puts more weight on. My first cbd so no big expectations but I am really happy with this one so far. Another week of really nice weather, I just hope it holds up a little longer. About 2 weeks to go. 🍻
Week 10. Nearly finished here, maybe 1 more week or so. Not a real fan of this one really. It’s a weird plant for sure. Each branch has different things going on. Some buds are more ready than others. The buds are really loose looking with lots of single leaves poking out of them. The other day I could swear there were some new single leaf growth on the top of the buds, as if it were going back into veg?? For an auto?? She also had a bit of spider mite on the bigger leaves, where other plants had none. So not real disease resistant, not real big, not real tight, not much smell,,,, not a real fan of this weird one, but hey I will wait till I try it and harvest it before I bag it too much. 🍻
Week 11. It’s all over for this one. I spotted a bit of rot on the top bud and dug it out, and saw a bit of white stuff in there, so cut it all out. Luckily it was confined to that small area though. I kept waiting for red hairs, but they really never came. I wonder if that is a trait of this strain, or of cbd in general. It is sticky as hell and smells unreal! Hard to believe it’s not really gonna be knock out stuff. Harvest to follow. Cheers all 🍻
White Widow CBD has it’s share of pro’s and cons for sure. On the plus side it grows quickly, gets really sticky and smells absolutely awesome up close. Good resin production and pretty good visual appeal with some purple late in flower. On the other hand it did have a few bug issues and some rot. Very airy buds and a pretty low yield. Having said that it was a winter outdoor experiment so i would expect it to do better in ideal conditions. Smoke wise, it’s a 1-1 CBD of about 5-7%. Surprisingly it still gets you there. First time I have tried cbd and yeah it definitely still works, just a little milder. Taste is just OK really. It was an interesting grow, and fun but doesn’t quite make the top shelf.
It was nice to have had a go at this one and I learned a few things about autos outdoors. I will continue to try and expand on the training to increase the yields. Overall I’m glad I have some nice cbd bud, it’s something I really wanted to try, and I look forward to trying more different ones in future
