Beginning of week number 4. made some changes with the height of the lamp and increased airflow as the plants were suffering from heat stress, doing much better now, daytime temps averaging 24-26Degrees and 50 - 60% humidity, plant number 2 has had quite a good growth spurt now after a couple of days dry period, all in all feeling quite happy. Any tips appreciated or feedback as this is my first time growing. :)

I have checked my plant after a 6-hour dark period and have come across some tiny holes in the leaves, they were not there yesterday seems to me its a caterpillar any ideas, if it's not what else could it be and how do I get rid of them?

Hi @Dan1000 If the caterpillar has already made itself at home in your marijuana crop, it's vital that you act as quickly as possible. Take note because here are some biological remedies that you can use: Manual removal: Armed with patience and plastic gloves, you can remove any caterpillars that you find on your plants. Spraying: You can combine manual removal with homemade insecticides, such as a blend of pepper and garlic.Pyrethrum and rotenone also work very well. Use Bacillus thuringiensis: I recommend this biological insecticide as the most effective method for treating caterpillar infestations. This insecticide acts upon contact, which means that caterpillars fall ill and die when they are sprayed with Bacillus. You should remember that even though it is a biological product, it is advisable to play it safe and refrain from applying it during the last 15 days of the cycle. It is also a good idea to combine sprays of this product with manual removal. Introduce predator species: Trichogramma wasps and Podisus maculiventris can be quite helpful. And if the infestation of caterpillars appears at harvest time… good luck mate 👍

Maybe some early damage you didn’t see when they were small! They start to show as time goes on! But I’m not sure I could be wrong! It is a little small for week 4 auto

@JinksyGrows, thanks man, had a read of that article very simply put. just checked temps again Temperature is still 25 and humidity at 58% seems to be quite stable. i initially had the lamp set to 400W but reduced it down to 250W and raised it slightly, seems to be doing the trick.

@Dan1000, Sounds good man👍. I'm positive you'll see a difference by morning if you can hold these numbers. If you're interested, there's a VPD (Vapor Pressure Differential/Deficit) chart readily available if you Google it. It's a fancy way of saying/showing how to balance humidity to heat in the grow space to optimize transpiration. May help you find that sweet spot 👌. Good luck man, I'll keep an eye out🙂 https://hightimes.com/grow/understanding-vapor-pressure-deficit/ Link to a decent explanation and chart in this high times article if you're interested. Keep er simple though👌

@Dan1000, i would let her flower for around 10 weeks, that's how she will give you her full potential , i hope you are not giving her extra Nutrients , becuase she looks little bit more green than it should ( too Much Nitrogen) , too much nitrogen during flowering is not good for Bud formation
