Seedling is watered twice daily, with increment of 50ppm. Started the week with 300ppm. Runoff ppm remain lower, which may be a positive indication that the seedling is eating well. Day 9 Noticed a piece of root riot at the base of the stem - it has been propping up the seedling. I noticed how weak the stem was when I foliar sprayed the seedling with calmag. Removed humidity dome and given some breeze treatment. Day 10 Stem seems to strengthen. Day 11 top heavy. Onset of third node. Tight internodes, but still top heavy. Seedling is keeling over. Propped up. Day 12 macro lenses arrived today. Stoked! Seedling keeled over badly after foliar feeding with mild silica. The stem does not seem to be getting any stronger. I decided to uproot the seedling and did as demonstrated in this video https://youtu.be/VmafDH4oQxo Fuck it. Hope it works. Day 14 Seedling survives intentional damage to rootzone and stem. Only one root can be seen from the bottom of the Rootmaker pot.

Do you guys think she is getting too much light? EC is no higher than before, but I’m starting to see yellowing of the tips... old and new leaves. It seems to me the leaves look somewhat anaemic in general. 100w LED was about 14”- 16”. Now its 19”.

Will the plant recover when it reaches this level of damage? This plant is at the end of vegetative growth. Is it okay to put to flower, or do I wait out? Many thanks.

If you feel the plant is healthy then you can switch to flower timing. You always want to make sure their healthy before entering flower. If they have problems going into flower then it just brings more problems and a greatly reduced amount at harvest time. Always best to start flower feed with half veg nutes and half flower nutes. When you get button size buds you then switch to straight flower feed but at half the recomended dose on the label, then increase as neccessary. Cheers

I’m already at the maximum recommended cal mag dose of 1ml/litre (with nutes at 1000ppm or E.C. 2.0) and I’m still facing issues. It went away for a few days, but it’s now back. Should increase the cal mag dose and cut back on the macro nutes to maintain 1000ppm?

Week 22. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!
Rated
7/10

The effect is very kind, as per breeder’s description. It is balanced, not too strong, and appeals to a broad range of users. Industrial Plant is excellent for socialising. It has a classy high. The buds are very hairy, and hardens after drying. The smell is sweet, taste is berry-ish and a bit of old-school skunkiness. Notes of citrus were present during grow, but absent during drying. Will see if curing brings it back. I would not recommend this strain for main-lining. The side branches tend to stretch and get bushy. Check out the short time lapse videos from week 2 of flowering to finish, both during light and dark cycles. Why only 7 stars? For the premium price of Industrial Plant seeds, stars are deducted for: 1. Poor germination rate 2. Yield is not extra large 3. It did not finish flowering within 45-50 days. This grow took almost 70 days.

The yield is reasonable, although it didn’t meet my expectations considering the size of the plant and breeder specifications. But not too shabby, I must say. Calyx-to-leaf ratio is high. Very little trimming required.

this is one unique grow. interesting and detailed.... as per your experiments with heat ; i have a harsh weather here with max going to 44 degree Celsius for an hour max and low till 23 degree Celsius in a day.also testing the same on a sunset sherbet and white widow but with a budget setup. keep this going and we shall see the unexpected outcome :) need more testers like yourself ..keep it up.

@Bongkhan, I can’t imagine running a desert setup, as humidity is my biggest problem. I have little choice but to go for the sealed room option. I have an A/C going, but pushing for the upper limits of temperature. I know it’s not ideal, but I need to control the running cost of the op. Thanks for browsing my diary. I am excited to see the outcome of this experiment as well. I will try to keep my diary as detailed as possible. Good luck with your SS and WW!

@DinafemSeeds, Thanks for the comment, Mark. This Industrial Plant is taking to Optimum VPD, CO2 And high light intensity quite well. I should have done it sooner. Right now, it’s not bothered by 30°C and high humidity during vege at all. You can see it grow by the hour.

Bongkhancommentedweek 145 years ago
That even canopy is dope!!! Always wanted to achieve this... Seems it is recovering well.. Did you experience that the leaves wilt entering in 3 to 4 weeks of flowering or is it because of your previous calmag issue? Also you dropped day temps? Would not that extra co2 help at high temps? Am a newbie for co2 use and want to know more about it.
Bongkhan
Bongkhancommented5 years ago
@contrapunk, that is a great info on co2 and temps.... there is nothing that you left neglected!! Waiting for those nugs to form!! :) Also at 3 weeks ; surely it is unique or require higher dark cycles like 11/13 or even 10/14 as this same thing happened with my White widow... 2 weeks stretching (7 inch height to 25 inches!!) and 3rd week it formed better pistils and buds when i switched it to 11/13.

@Bongkhan, I wouldn’t know yet, as I’m just entering week 3 of flowering. I’ve stopped using the Autopot as it was causing me grief with the rootzone pH. I’ve reverted to top-feeding; it allows greater control of pH and PPM. This is my first grow with LEDs, and it is an entirely different animal to HPS. LEDs aren’t hot (the spider farmer units, anyway) but they are extremely intense. I find it challenging to reach the equilibrium of light and nutrient. BTW, I seal my room fairly well, therefore CO2 climbs quickly just with breathing in the room. It can easily go to 2000+ ppm. You can subject to high temp with CO2, but I prefer to grow using VPD. In my case, I let humidity dictate the temperature. At this late-vege/early-bloom phase, 60%RH is ideal. According to most VPD charts, the maximum allowable temp is around 26°C. To control my environment, I run a state-of-the-art AC unit, two dehumidifiers (one for day, one for night) and a humidifier. This pheno is a bit temperamental (if not slow, haha). But I think Sativa-dominant strains would do VERY well with high temp, high light & high CO2 enviro. Thanks for stopping by!

Im also reasearch about ppf and co2 supplementation is not usable to plant if you light is weaker than 700. Im looking for light with 1700 ppf actual wat usage 630w and i would need betweene 1000-1500 ppm co2. So if you want to let your plant use that co2 you need to put more light ! Link of reasearch https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/how-much-light-ppf-do-you-need-for-indoor-cannabis/ Good luck
contrapunk
contrapunkcommented5 years ago
@weddingcake, from my current grow, 700 seems to be too intense at the size of current vegetation, with my LED lights anyway. Perhaps it’s different compared to HID lights. I have been reading cocoforcannabis blogs as well, haha! I’m even using the spider farmer led lights as reviewed by CFC. I’ve tested it at varying CO2 levels, even at 2000+ ppm. Right now, chlorosis is evident due to having too much light. I’ll try to increase it to 600+ when she gets more volume and have bigger fan leaves. Thanks and good luck to you as well 👍🏽
