Grow started on April 6 with germination, planting on April 8.
This is my first time growing, so let's see how it goes!
* the seeds came in a bare plastic baggie
* paper towel germination with distilled water (between two plates above my water heater)
* three out of four seeds have germinated
* I didn't have anything else at home, so I planted them in 70% universal soil / 30% cactus soil in tiny pots. They were watered once during the whole week.
* they were kept under a plastic bag, and sometimes I blew some air in them (probably more CO2 and humidity than usual)
* I used a Hue Lightbulb near the plants to give them some light while the weather was a bit cloudy.
* #3 decided to sprout much faster than the others
I think it was time to transplant to bigger pots, because I saw roots coming out the bottom of the tiny ones (probably because there aren't enough nutrients in the universal soil?)
I only get morning sun, so I take the plants out every day to my balcony.
The rest of the time, they are under plastic domes and lit by a Philips Hue Lightstrip converted to be a ghetto quantum LED board.
I only watered them after replanting, with Brita filtered water and tap water that I've left to sit for days.
I've given Blue goo #1 to a friend, so it won't make any more appearances in the diary.
It seems like all growth stopped and both plant's stems are turning red from the bottom up. It seems like the pH and the nutrients are off, so I am trying my best to fix it.
I have ordered some Monkey Soil - Ecosoil Outdoor and mixed in 10% by weight Monkey Soil - Worms (California red worm humus) and some 2 gallon Smart Pots and tried to remove as much of the original soil (universal/cactus 70/30 mix) without damaging the roots.
I have watered again only when transplanting, with Brita filtered tap water.
When transplanting, I've tried to bury the plants a bit deeper, so they are more stable because they got quite a bit stretched thanks to my sub-par lighting solution.
Day 22:
Watered with about 1 liter of Brita filtered water per plant.
Covered the top soil with some CANNA Aqua Clay Pebbles.
From today, the nighttime temperature doesn't really go below 15C, so I will be leaving the plants outside.
Day 23:
No change from yesterday, they seem to be ok. (not worse than yesterday)
