Basically I'm taking this as new hobby. I don't smoke but since I was 16 that I wanted to embrace a grow project. 18 years later, decided to get my hands to the work, bearing in mind that it should be as simple as possible.
Ordered 3 easy bud seeds, germinated all 3, only 2 survived on the soil, mostly because of my technique. For me, it's all about learning so I did some experiences. 3 different soils, 3 different planting techniques and this is the result so far. The one that died, was due muddy soil, so she drown. No oxygen.
Started this project with a simple indoor greenhouse, 160x40x60cm size, 2 daylight lamps 11 watts, 6300 kelvin and roughly 700 lumen each, 1 usb cooling fan. Distance from the lamps to the seeds +20 centimetres, which you can see on day 3, we had a lot of stretching (video). Nevertheless, started to see some life!!!
Decided to take the project more seriously. We are now on the day 4, with a new setup. Adequate soil, carefully buried both plants in bigger vases and new lights.
4 cfl lamps, 1297 lumen, 97 watts and 6300 kelvin. I was about to buy the cfl pure light lamp 125 watts but found these cfl's at leroy merlin. I wanted to keep this low budget/experimental project as much as possible, therefore after doing some calculations I found that with these 4 lamps I would roughly get the same lumens and watts I would get with the pure light lamp.
Happy Growing.
This week I will maintain the same techniques from previous week.
Noticed that main leafs got bigger during the weekend, both plant look healthy and happy and are now looking wider. Also to note that I have been rotating the vases so they catch light in different positions/sides. It does not replace the real sun movement however it will stimulate the growth in different parts of the plant.
Hopefull by the end of this week we will have a new set of baby leafs.
So for the third week I had planned to reduce the light cycle from 24 to 18/6. I have been slowly introducing the lights off schedule to reduce any potential stress.
The differences are notory. The plants adapted very well. No signs of stress and it seems to be growing faster.
Added more light to the grow. We are now under the 500w.
It is possible to feel a sweet smell on the air. No big deal.
For this week we are just growing.
Was having lunch on saturday with my wife and we were talking about the latest developments in all our plants. (we also grow indoor potatoes, peppers, sunflowers, lettuces, garlic, etc) and we started planning our 3 weeks vacation for July. Obviously when I started my grow, I had planned everything so I decided to give it a go with automatic and quick flowers - I don't trust anyone to come into my house to have my plants watered, therefore everything would be ready by the time we are off for vacations. Thing is, when comparing my flowers with others, I noticed they are like, 1 to 2 weeks behind the schedule. My first thought was "light!!!".
We are now beginning the 5th week and both plants are showing some signs of flowering stage coming. I decided to introduce a late LST since they are very small, so I'm doing everything I can to improve the final yield.
Decided to give it a go with 250w HPS, Grow+Bloom. The problem I'm facing right now is the temperatures. It is very difficult to keep it below 27, even though I'm running 3 extractors, 125mm.
Yellow spot found today. Only one spot in one leaf.
Shoud I prune the whole leaf or wait a few more days to see if she recovers? It is a main leaf though.
Any help is much appreciated.
Looks to be a very small blemish quite possibly from a drop of water on ur leaves during light hours. Either way if isolated to the one spot nothing to worry about. Definitely dont need to remove the leaf. But I would monitor the leaf and plant for new or worsening symptoms. Some times leaving the deficiency or problematic leaves on the plant helps to identify if u have ailed the plant. Or more action is required.
Completely new setup for the flowering stage. Bigger tent Secret Jardin DS 90 and VIPARSPECTRA V600.
Now on week 6, but I think I will have a late harvest on these ones. Maybe around the week 12.
Well.. it was really easy to grow, despite all the setbacks we faced along the process. It is important to consider these plants suffered from heat stress, lack of space and even there was 1 full week where they did not have any equipment at all. This happened when I switched from the 2ft grow room to the 3ft secret jardin and also, sold the HPS and bought the Viparspectra. I must say, it was a really good result! Will grow these again in the future.
@GreenBeanGrowMachine, thanks! It has been a pleasant experience so far. Watch how they grow so fast and react to the environment, to everything. First week is done. Let's start a new one! Happy growing
@Germano, yes I know but maybe on a later stage. I just spent around 9EUR in these 4 lamps. It was impossible to get led lamps as cheap as this.
The greenhouse I'm using was something that I already had at home, where my wife was growing some garlic and beans. 😂
I will see how this project develops and if doing well, eventually I will buy a grow tent with a good setup. I'm just trying to see how this is done.
Thanks for the advice anyway! Much appreciated.
One of the easy buds is already showing some signs of the third set of baby leafs showing. I believe that over the next 24/48 hours, the third set will sprout. This is amazing!
Meantime, I've planted some sunflowers too, just to keep them on the window. Germinated and let the first set of leafs grow inside the greenhouse and now moved them outside to the window. I'm closely following the developments of these guys too. 😂 It is all about #stayathome
Also to note that I found a huge promotion CULTIBOX LIGHT 60X60X140 tent, which I immediately ordered. It was 50% off price. At least I can return the greenhouse to my wife. 😅
@@KushyToker75, hello! yes she did resolve herself. Despite the information you may find over the internet in my opinion it is due lack of water or too much light/heat for their size. We should go easy on the seedlings. Happy growing!
I kid you not . Not only has mine leaf curl but has 1 tiny spot on her too . Think it was a water droplet on lights on that maybe magnified and burnt it 👍
