I'm so excited for this beginning, after 25 years I want to restart growing on myself. Now I've got a little backyard and my daughters are old enough to understand.

My little PK will spends the next 10 days outdoors, night and day in its pot, savoring the discrete temperature changes in my area. Today the average brightness at 2 pm is around 70,000 lux 87.8 °F strong sandy wind Go baby, go!

Well, my organic vegetables garden, in anticipation of growing weed has been at rest for twenty months. I started to amends with green manure from legumes and lawn mowing (expecially the last month, for ready availability of N). I've mixed 1 gallon of Vigor Plant Full (perlite, guano, peats) to improve drainage. All the roses around, the apple tree and the hedges were treated with deltamethrin so as to preventively reduce the population of aphids, whiteflies & red spiders. My vegetables & weed eventually will receive only spraying of nettle macerated. My girls spent the previous week outdoors night and day in their pots savoring the discrete temperature changes in my area. Now in the evening I will have to pay close attention to broadnose weevils and later to bedbugs. It will be a tough fight against the wind and heat. A whole week of full sun awaits them. Pineapple Kush shows strong genetics, she has tolerated very well strong wind and full sun (28 C° average temp) asking for watering twice a day. Maybe it will be the southern sun but she already smells slightly. 🤞

This was be a very good week 'cause PK 🍍has not suffered for transplant neither for high temps of the day (avg 80 °F peak 87 °F) and the cold of the night (48.2 °F). These are the last days of the seedling stage. I have noticed a very initial N deficiency, a consequence of the last few days in pots. For now I will not fertilize it, I have confidence in the quality of the soil. Forecasts are very bad for the next 4 days so I have built a temporary greenhouse with PVC film. Weed stimulates creativity! 💡

Who says weed doesn't grow much above 30°C? This beast do it. Another good week for PK, despite 4 days of storms. I have decided not to top her. Starting LTS. Smell will be a problem later. Healty and strong plant!

Another crazy week, hot days, cold nights, always windy. These are the conditions in which weed grows in nature and my girls seem to love. PK is confirmed as a beast. Perfectly healthy only a few scratches caused by the wind. No parasites. Very rapid response to bending with excellent branching. What a smell !!

Hi fellow growers, although here we are close to the summer solstice (18h of light a day), in full veg stage, most of the lateral branches show asymmetrical flower-like nodes. I have completed dozens of indoor cycles and have never seen it before. What do you think about? Thanks

Hi there! This is not a pre-flower stage. There is no pistils or even calyxes or anything that determines the sex even. Sometimes the symmetricality is lost earlier and stress to the stem can make it happen too. For example doing lst ot suoercropping can result in this ao its still pretty normal phenomenon

I feel that one day size will be a problem. She has huge leaves, grows visibly, with and without sun, always whipped by the wind is a struggle to tie it to the curved track! Many branches looking for sun. Using this adjustable curved trace I stopped the apical dominance obtaining a thick plant with many well-formed branches. No need 4 feed. Happy and frosty growin for all of you 🤞

Entering pre-flowering. Calix and pistils appear, beginning of alternating growth, very stretchy. PK has grown a lot and well, the training made her very bushy, as I wanted it to be. A dozen of beautiful branches now have space to form beautiful buds. From now on I will let the main cola grow and stop to bend the main stem. Still no need 4 feed. 🤙👋

16.2 inches/week Usual summer week here in the south, every day above 86 ° F (max 100 ° F) Pineapple is beast, can tolerate everything and is grown almost 2 inches per day drinking 2 gallons per day of spring water showing only few signs of heat stress. She's in full stretch and had fill every spaces with her thick branches . I fed her half the recommended dose of Biobizz Grow 'cause is too hot and don't want to burn her. I think we are 10-14 days before flowering. I covered her with a PVC net in order to give her a little shield from the sun and give me more privacy ;-)

July 10, still pre-flowering 94 °F 🔥🔥Tenth day of the heat wave🔥🔥 This exuberant plant forced me to rearrange the nets several times, filling all the spaces quickly also what should be reserved for the neighbor sister. The LTS has been very effective and the plant has responded very well since I can count at least 15 strong branches. The main branch is once again dominant. I made a small defoliation in the middle, 2-3 leaves a day. Others will follow For now it is tolerating the heat wave rather well. As for the two sisters, I have adopted the following feeding scheme since the beginning of the week in consideration of the heat: Water > BioGrow ¹ ² > Water > BioBloom ¹ ² * ¹ ² half of recommended dose This scheme will last until the next week, then BioGrow will be stopped. She must be trained twice a day. Happy growin' & stay safe Bros 💪

Update July 30 102 °F Plants now need to be watered twice a day with 3/4 gallons. All my garden is burned except these incredibly girls, is a hard challenge. I can't understand not how much these plants survive but how they thrive instead Very hard to stay outside, very hard to take decent pics, very hard to sleep, to breath too. Closed at home I am building a dry trimming dock with a 120 microns sieve which I will then use to beat the dry trim in the Moroccan way. On Monday 27, the first day of the second heat wave, 90 ° F, the plant already begins to show signs of low heat stress and the forecasts are very bad, this could last for 2 weeks. This is a problem for me because I have planned to start stressing the plant with underwater, an impossible mission in this heat. For the same reason I'll stop to defoliate. I was forced to bend the tallest branches again for privacy reasons, this girl is fucking vigorous. From now on I will stop counting the height and the water, the first because the plant is completely folded 3/4 times and has exceeded 75 inches abundantly. The latter because I water them directly with the water hose. I will report only nutes when gived. Grasshoppers are starting their fucking job chewing leaves but I don't care, this resilient girl has tons of leaves so I'll let them to make defoliation in my place, checking only the new sprouts and for mites. Occasional mealybugs are prompted burned by my lighter, the best method!!! Still waiting for stigmas. PK has almost 20 thick branches with fantastic lateral shoots, I bet this resilient bad girl will be a heavy yelder. Herbal/exotic scented Hope you enjoy the garden Happy to see U come back for updates. Cheers & Happy Growing! See ya soon

Outdoors........time passes slowly.... Tropical weather here, this week. Hot morning, evening storms , cooler nights, high humidity, wind. What else? No problems to report, fantastic grow, girls full of life. Lots of work to bend and rearrange plant's shape every day, sometimes twice a day. Defoliation. Plant is responding fantastically. Pineapple Kush is a monster, she has almost 20 big branches, every single branch is big as an indoor plant. I've growth 30 strains in my life but I never seen a plant with a such LTS attitude. You bend her, she responds quickly, you bend her again? She responds faster. Little bit late on flowering.

Perfect tropical-like weather. No problems to report. Excellent growth. Still rearranging net tent as this bastard stretch a lot. The one that should have the fastest flowering is, on the other hand, terribly late compared to het sisters. But how long does this beast still want to grow? Royal Queen Seeds officially claims Pineapple Kush is better suited indoors than outdoors, for now RQS is wrong.

Great climate, ideal. No problems to report, for the moment the critters are focused on something else. Today 13.27 of light. At this point I'm disappointed with this strain, she should have been the fastest to bloom, but she's still growing like a tree in this crazy stretchy pre-flowering stage. She will probably be a big yelder but now she is becoming visible from far and this is a problem for me. Strong smell of coffee/anise. I will try to underwater to control and accelerate flowering. August 19 update - this hungry beast ask to me to double the bloom nutes as some middle canopy fan leaves show initial K deficiency. August 21 update - first day of new heat wave

Great climate, ideal. After careful consideration, valued the considerable size of the plants, the flowering stage and the yellowing of the bottom canopy , I decided to feed one last time with veg nutes at half dose. This will be followed by 2 waterings of water only and then a boost of flowering nutrients. Here we are. It happened overnight, nothing the night before, the next morning there are pistils everywhere. Looking at the structure of the branches , I think they will be monstrous buds. Stay tuned for a monster crop. This beast is insanely hungry of nutes. For now absolutely pests-resistant. Thanks for following, I ❤️ you

Very variable weather, summer is at the end, temperature drops quickly, even 60 °F. I was out for 3 days, on my return I found the three girls who were starting to wither but they were promptly watered. No damage to report. The yellowing of the lower canopy has started. Acceptable weather forecast until 10 September. I bought 5 transparent PCV tarps to protect them extemporaneously from the rain. Stigmas are all formed, very vigorous bud structure. This beast still shows some signs of K deficiency despite feeding her regularly. For now, the nutrients are barely enough to stabilize the typical leaf discoloration. Gonna double the dose. Critters avoid her like the plague. Expected harvest time october 1st/2nd week.

Destiny has given me a wonderful climate so far but from the 18th the weather will change completely, precisely in the last 10 days of flowering which fortunately is very accelerated by the anomalous heat, especially at night. Typical late summer weather here, kinda for weed. First storm is expected on Saturday, I'm ready to protect them. I've made the last rearrangement of the tent, trying to give more room to the vigorous and overflowing Pineapple Kush so I've rised the roof to 110". The plants are all carefully sprayed with thyme extract to control mites infection, it seems to work, infection is stable from 1 week. I kill manually 20/30 bedbugs a day. During nighttime, maybe a monster grasshopper, is munching some leaves, at this point I don't care, I have to defoliate anyway and these bastards don't chew buds, for now. She's flowering fast now, I hope she will finish before October rains. Every side branches is thicker as the sister's main branch. Expected harvest time october 1st/2nd week. This will be a hard challenge to complete flowering without mold issues. If she doesn't gave to me at least 2lbs of weed, I'll kill her. Last 2 week with nutes Full dose Water Half dose Water Full dose Water Half dose Happy growing my friends 🙏

Weather here is still fantastic, hot days, partially cloudy, cooler nights. Long term forecast are excellent till the end of September, probably till mid October. No news to report, I'm just waiting for buds swelling, these are the slowest days of my life. Now she's flowering very fastly, hungry of nutes, some K deficiency signs all around but situation is under control. I've made a major defoliation in the middle and bottom canopy, she's very very leafy. Stigmas are fatter twice then sister's. The overall basic structure of the buds is really impressive, twice thicker than SK and 3 times than RG. But late.... Stay safe Bros

Dramatic weather here, 2 violent storms have hitted my tent without mayor damages. I've bought a high density polyethylene film from farmer supplier, God blessed for this choice. Strong. But I've made a great mistake on Thursday because I was very busy cropping and curing Royal Gorilla that I've forget to water the sisters. I've watered them on Friday just before I started putting up the tent and the storm started with 90% humidity. It has become a tropical greenhouse, so to avoid mold disasters I drilled some side holes and raised the lower edge. Fortunately, on Saturday my little ones managed to dry themselves well thanks to a little sun and a dry wind. I've learned the lesson. Now that weather is a little bit better but colder I've realised that my plants now love to live under a greenhouse, flowering is accelerating. This plant does its own thing, she started flowering very late but is now doing it very quickly. Return my hatred for her with huge frosty buds and gorgeous colors. She has boundless vigor, I don't think it's possible to burn her with fertilizers. It is not a reliable plant for flowering times but if you have extra space in the garden it is the classic plant that can give surprises. It is difficult to describe the scent, very different from what one smells in general, not pineapple but tropical, herbaceous, sweet. Hope to harvest within 15 days. Very difficult to estimate the yeld because is a huge, tall and very leafy plant. After sister's crop she will gain much more room and light. P. S. Need some help from you guys to trim my Royal Gorilla, need to smoke less, that shit has no respect! 😁😎

Good weather here. The branches that show advanced signs of multiple nutes deficiencies (N + K) are almost ripen, I consider this as phisiologic signs of age, the others are perfectly normal but immature. Maybe this is due to the rose roots near the plant that are sucking nutrients. As she has lost apical dominance the buds are very omogeneus, big, fat, frosty. Lots of thin pistils. Found 4 little spots of bud rot promptly removed. This issue is related only to the partially shaded side of the plant til now, not good. Gotta lay with her for the next week, divorce is around the corner. Mayor defoliation on Sunday. Last nutrients on Monday. Now the whole sun is for her but only for three days, ripen or not I'll crop her the next Sunday as a rainy and cold week is coming and this fucking plant is prone to bud rot and couldn't survive under the tent. Damned plant. I have no more room to dry weed, everything in my home smell of weed, my family too. Special Kush is still drying...

Cropped on Sunday evening as scheduled, a few days before complete ripening. I'm not worried about that as this shit plant has the hardest and frostiest buds I've ever seen. The complete pre-harvest defoliation made me understand a few things, stem rot. What I believed was a lack of nutrients instead was some rot at the base of the stem which I did not recognize because this plant was too leafy. This is probably the reason for the buds rot spots, considering that the weather was still dry until now. The loss is few grams so far. The plant has a fantastic skunky and fruity smell and is very easy to manicure. The buds are so resinous that seems to have slime in my hands. See you soon for the report of the harvest. I've decided to do a wet trim and manicure to check out for eventual hidden rot spots, this has required 3 days of work and a lot of spliffs and simply I forgot to weight wet plant. Estimated wet weight is 1,5/2 kilos.

This is not an easy-to grow strain at least on the outdoors. She needs a lot of space, a lot of defoliation, a lot of nutrients, a lot of care but is not assured that she will reward. She has faced easily heat waves, rain, strong wind, pests. Very resistant to mites and aphids, has a poor resistance to bud and stem rot (the weather was dry). I've analysed the stem after the cut and I've found a large portion at the base of the stem heavily damaged by rot. This is why the three involved branches looked paler. However, these branches reacted by anticipating ripening and frighteningly increasing the production of resin. Unfortunately this damn plant was incredibly leafy and I didn't notice anything. She has a great LTS attitude but needs to be topped indoors and needs continuous and careful defoliation. Flowering starts too late and lasts as expected. The quality and the shape of the buds is very high although the plant was cut too early. They are very dense and resinous. I will not grow Pineapple Kush again. This girl gaves to me 433 grams of weed. These are the results: Buds- 433 grams Trim- 400 grams

@Love_Cultivator, Hi Love, it's all OK til now. Here we are in lock down. After the right curing process the taste and the high are improved a lot but the smell and flavour can't compete with royal gorilla or special kush, it is clearly a matter of personal taste. The high is really strong. The bud quality is really excellent.

@Rap_a_cap, Hi Master! Oye! Not so great news, but first of all: keep it going, I hope for you that the tough times will soonly come to an end! (Even if I really don't know what to think about the strategy that different governments take against this virus..) I'm all with you in my thoughts! I'm sure the taste will improove with a bit of time! Otherwise you could extract some! I know someone who owns a rosin press ;) So.. i think it can be complicated to send me your entire harvest (hahaha) but i could defently send you some rosin back from your flowers! Keep the peace, keep the love! L_C

@DoDrugs420, unfortunately it was a problematic cultivation due to bad genetics IMO, the most of the crop was given away because the weed was not to my taste and the very high rate of thc gave me a problem with anxiety.

it was until now achellenging " outdoor season" cold nichts and days in the beginning, heatwaves and then cold and rainy again...... its always great to see how resiliant those plants are. I had to water my outdoor girls 2 times daily during the hot days.....and they did not care.... the roots staed cool and that is all that counts I like very much the way you grow your vegetables and greens too.

@Mrs_Larimar, nice to see you here Madam, thank you. Even though I am 2000 km south of you, I see that we share the same spirit. Apart from the grass I love my garden, the roses, the maples, the Wastphalian clematis, the cedar ... And my cats also love to sleep under the canopy, for hours and hours. One of these eats the leaves and then sleeps. The first major Atlantic disturbance is expected here on 12 September, let's hope it won't do any damage. Happy dry growing 😁

Looking fantastic. And I think you’re right - looking like a monster harvest.

@AirDuster, thanks! I hope so, unfortunately she is terribly late in flowering but the structure of the buds is really impressive. At least twice as thick as the 2 sisters. Let's see.

That curliness of sugar leaves talks about budrot more than anything else, you know it's here, just don't know how bad ....

AsNoriucommented3 years ago
@Rap_a_cap, do it ! People having that issue outdoors very often .
Rap_a_cap
Rap_a_capcommented3 years ago
@AsNoriu, UVC work great also outdoor to sterilize and save the remaining part of the bud. A mini portable set will costs DIY not more than 30 euros. But needs knowledge.... Of course can't be used for guerrilla as general prevention. Maybe will post a minidiary with infos, scientific papers links.....

AsNoriucommented3 years ago
@Rap_a_cap, so as agronomist you have to understand, that's the only fruit we inhale ;))) So all other stuff is not working in my mind. UV is nice touch, but I grow guerilla , next to public paths, so going there even to do photos is a challenge ;) I found cinnamon good natural prevention after removing infected parts, I sprinkle it on wound. Was wining a bit in my mind, but the end is always lost fight and early harvest just to save a bit ....

Hey bro, is this really flowering stage ? 14h/day of sunlight is too much to start flowering, no ? Maybe I don't see correctly.. 😵
Weedovaurus
Weedovauruscommented5 years ago
@Rap_a_cap, Yead indeed, I remember, I was wondering why you done that :d Because I don't think rain is a problem in veg stage. I need to explore my options.. I fear that if I make like you, the film will have hard resistance to wind and fall with the plant... 😕
Rap_a_cap
Rap_a_capcommented5 years ago
@Weedovaurus, I got the same problem but bigger, from my photos it does not realize how big these plants are and in case of rain I will have to build a PVC film roof again. You could plant 2-meter poles to form a square in which to contain the plant and make a small shelter with something transparent, as I did in the first months of my diaries.

@Rap_a_cap, Yup ! I'm concern about rain while it will flower... Previous year, I had gray mould problem after one entire rainy week... That fucked up my harvest :'(

Growing in a garden, may be achallenge. Because of the pests......but there are good predators for every insect you dont want to have. Using predators is beefriendly and saves the Planet. There are information sites about predators in the Internet. my "hardest" remedy is Neemoilsolution, and like you do nettleextract happy growing. And its good to see you came back after 25 years
the end.
