germination station engaged! This will be my first grow, I'm very excited to experiment and learn as i go. I've loved seeing the community on this site offer advice and congratulate each other and i would love to be part of that too. (any and all advice welcome) the long term plan is to grow 2 plants at a time always same strain, im hoping to grow some of my favorite varieties over the coming year; lemon haze, dr grinspoon and of course white widow just to begin. so what did i get up to this week? well after setting up the tent and deciding on my grow medium ive started the germination process utilizing these wicked little disks that expanded into the perfect self contained plugs that will eventually be transplanted into my DWC buckets. I will be keeping the babies fed with "ROOT!T first feed" until they are strong enough to be put into the DWC buckets. (this is a cal/mag nutrient designed for seedlings) for the grow i have chosen to use advanced nutrients ph perfect "micro, Veg & Bloom" for simplicity with managing ph and just going with a popular choice that seems pretty simple. from there im going to attempt to emulate a few grow techniques i've seen from other grows on this site. i'm in no rush to harvest so will be giving the babies plenty of time to veg and have fun playing and learning what works for the plants. hoping to try: -topping -LST -mainline -defoliation *edit; discovered the seeds were "autos" so might not have as much time to train as hoped. will discover as i go allong. this is very much a personal endeavour, purely born out of a appreciation of bud and lack of any other viable hobbies at this time. wish me luck! what an emotional rollercoaster. after 4 days of germination my first little lady decided to explode into life, and 2 days later her sister decided to join the party (little tease) 2/2 seeds successfully germinated. noiceeee. My first lady has shown amazing growing speed and produced roots out of the germination pod within 5 days, i decided that this would be my marker to transplant to the DWC bucket and start with my feeding schedule. my second girl is just playing catch up a few days behind, but looking healthy regardless but yet to show signs of exposed roots. As i discovered that the strain i was germinating were of the auto disposition i've decided to go with a 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1/1 feeding schedule for the vegetation weeks of growth with a 18/6 light schedule. when the ladies start to show signs of flowering i will adapt the nutrients dictated by how the girls respond. i've decided that i will top and LST one of the girls and use only LST for the other and compare the results as a bit of personal exploration and learning. so far this is becoming a great hobby and i'm loving checking on the girls every morning and night and seeing the subtle changes in their growth, colour and structure! all my other house plants and my veg garden are getting so much more love and understanding too geeking out on plants is so much fun! till next sunday! another fun week of observing and monitoring the girls progress! our early girl is well on her way to becoming a monster with a week of 1/8 nutes and now moving onto 1/4 we should start to see even more rapid growth. our second little girl is just a few days behind at this point held off adjusting the nutes for her until 1L has dropped out of the system. Next week is clean and dump of the reservoir and most likely will go to 2/3 nutes and see how they respond. till next week PSGT

Another week into this grow and the girls are growing great! The first lady is becoming nice and fat with some great foliage, responding really well to the extra nutrients given to her last week! planning to change her water this wednesday for the first time since putting her into the DWC. will plan to increase her nutrients from 1/4 to 2/3 and keep an eye out for any adverse reactions into the weekend. Second girl as usual is just a few days behind early girl, she's growing really nicely tho and responded very nicely to the nutrients being introduced tuesday this week. i will change her DWC water for the first time on friday and then also increase her nutrients. Both little ladies showed signs of bleaching early in the week, this was i discovered caused from the grow light being too close to the plants, since moving the light and additional 20cm away the bleaching seems to have subsided. i diagnosed this problem using the attached flowchart which i discovered in the r/growing forums of reddit. I'm planning to implement the start of LST and the day of water change for each girl, i have decided that i am going to avoid topping the plants all together but plan to really get into training them out into nice short fat monsters. all the best for another week PSGT

another week of fun! after a week of adjusting nutrients and changing the water in both DWC buckets the little ladies are taking the first steps of LST on the chin well. I'm aiming to train the main stem in a upward spiral as i saw on another grow and it looked pretty successful. i noticed the lager leafs on both ladies were extra green and the tips were curling down through the week, i think this is most likely due to a excess of nitrogen to fix this i have decided to remain on the same nutrients as last week and wait for them to grow and become more hungry. till next week PSGT

allot of decisions this week! On tuesday i upped both ladies nutes to 850 and 790ppm. aiming to increase the ppm to 900 for both ladies by the end of this week coming. The 1st lady is growing really strong, she's holding up really well to the LST and seems to be making new growth every day! seems to be a much stronger and healthier plant in general. now the 2nd lady is still a beauty but she seems to be a bit weaker, iv'e decided to not continue with the LST that i had started and just allow her to focus on growing unhappered. worryingly i have identified either a deficiency or a bug on her and i'm a bit stumped just now but im going to try and figure things out over the next few days. any ideas from the collective hive mind on here are welcome check in next week PSGT

This was always about trial and error for me and i have identified an error. so i think i didn't really understand the Nutrients until i acquired the PPM meter and could see my content of nutrients per L. i think the ladies look a bit small for the amount of time and there is no sign of flowering as of yet (are they actually auto's?) it's been great learning and caring for these little ladies and i hope now with better knowledge we will see a ramped up development over the coming month. in other news, theLSTt of the 1st lady is great fun, operation upward spiral is going along really nicely. and 2nd lady seems to be enjoying growing unhampered, i've been trimming and aiming to get light to the new growth under the top canopy and hopefully she bushes out as much as the 1st lady this week. 8 weeks of veg, and definitely a few more to go! 1st lady had a major haircut today, plenty of internal growth and lower down weaker branches trimmed and she looks pretty good! super bushy and loving life. no sign of her wanting to shift over flower as of yet, decided to change her water and get the Nutes up to a higher balance to see if i can give her a shove along. following the recommended full dose were sitting at 1300 ppm so on the higher side of things, will just keep an eye out for any nute burn over the next few days and adjust as i go. 2nd lady is chilling, the weaker of the pair as always but since letting her do her own thing she seems to be just getting on with it. seeing as things have gone well with her in the last week i've decided to let her sit in the same water and nutes for another 7 days and see how she where she wants to go in life. limiting factors to my grow: Light; i have a sneaking suspicion that my chinese made led "600w" lamp is potentially a pile of shit 😂. for future grows i'll be investing in mars hydro or similar. CO2; i mean without getting super tech more CO2 more plant. im not going to bother with a testing kit or grow bag for this grow but i will consider it for future grows from the start of veg. DWC so far has been really easy to manage. tho fish tank bubblers are hella annoying once your ears tune into the monotonous drone, it really cuts threw everything. my next grow i will be upping to 4 DWC buckets so intend in spending a bit on a 4 outlet air-pump that will hopefully be much quieter... also might hang it from the tent somehow to stop the resonating pitch on the floor.
