These 3 little happy clones are my first clone experiment ever. I cut 2 clones when I defoliated (my other Blue Dream CBD plant) right before flowering started. I then took another 2 clones 2 weeks later (since I read my chances are slim). Not in Full on Flowering, but more like an extended stretch in Veg, since my "mother" never went to Flower due to light leaks. The clones were all taken from the bottom of the plant. I did a lot of reading and thought my chances would be slim. To my surprise 3 out of 4 made it 😱 One of the clones was too long (my guess) and didn't take root. What am I gonna do with 3 clones? I asked around but no one wanted any 😫I can't kill this plant... So here we go with a changed tent schedule and 3 very dainty clones 😍 Here is a quick mental note to myself: 28/3/2020 Cut first two clones. Cut off at an angle, dipped immediately in Clonex and put in Jiffy pellet which was soaked in PHed water. Removed some bottom leaves and cut remaining leaves in half. Bottle humidity dome on top onto heat mat. The first couple of days I sprayed the clones every couple of hours and lifted the dome for a couple of minutes. No yellow leaves, they looked fresh out of the fridge. After a week I did a dome test, take of the humidity dome and check back in 2 hours. If they have wilted or show signs, spray them and put the dome back on. if not, leave dome off. We passed the dome test yeay 😜 3/4/2020 I took the second pair of clones. I had no jiffys left and put them in Biobizz Light soil immediately. 6/4/2020 10 days after cutting I did a first root test. You poor lots of water on the jiffy so it softens up. Gently take out the clone and check for roots. Very little little roots found. Stuffed back in jiffy for more root growth. 11/4/2020 15 days after cutting, 3 long roots were growing out the jiffy. Time to repot. I chose a transparent 1l pot (not sure about the size) which I have in another dark pot. That way I can easily check the root growth and see how and where my watering goes. Really really genius idea of a kind user over at 420Mag ❤️Would call this Day 1 for this clone, The First One :) 17/4/2020 The 2 younger clones had rooted through their little pot and were repotted in a transparent cup inside a red cup with 473ml. This could be their Day One, The Second Ones... But for the sake of not overcomplicating it, I use today as Day 1 for all of them, knowing that one is older...

30/4/2020 All three have properly grown on my kitchen table and some visits to the sun behind the balcony door. Not ideal conditions, but that's what it is. The are very dainty and small, really cute. I need to train them soon, they grow node after node. I won't be able to properly mainline them, no even nodes :( Maybe I LST them, they are still very bendy.

2/5/2020 They join their mother in the 12:12 tent until the evening and then move in my new diy box. Still waiting on my new light. They seem to love the LST I did last night. All three were bend over 90 degrees. That way I can still transplant and train to the outer pot. I guess I will transplant in 5 days. Yeay 7/5/2020 Last day of week 3 and the new light has arrived. I repotted the clones and it was time, their roots were well developed. They are in 8l fabric pots now. There is still a lot of weird clone growth going on, some 1 blade leaves, some with 2, most the leaves don't have the typical structure of a cannabis leaf yet. I will LST these clones for now, which seems to make most sense. There is barely any even nodes, also I'm not sure when I can remove some of bottom "old" leaves. I will let them arrive in their new pot and light situation and then see. I potted them more to the side of the new pot, so I have more room LSTing in the centre. Never done that, thinking about if this might impact the root growth? Don't think so, we'll see.

Hi week 4 of weird Clone growing 😆 I tied them down a bit more properly (before I just laid them flat in a 90 degree angle) and added a rock as a support for the stem. I didn't want to defoliate yet, I have to hold myself back though. The leaves grow really weird, I have not seen something like that before... Anyway, since the main stem is now lifted a little from the soil, I tucked the crazy leaves together so the nodes in the middle get better lighting. They seem to like it. Really not sure if any of the current nodes will produce anything or if they will be cut once "normal" grow comes back. Either way definitely an adventure 🙌Did some more reading on LST also, I want to make sure, the plant thinks it has lost its top. As long as there is a stem/cola "higher" than any other, the plant will mainly distribute food to that one cola. I want to try keeping that stem level with the others, so all food gets distributed evenly. Mental note - check 👍 That didn't last long, I went ahead and LSTed them incl. a bigger defoliation. Couldn't see all those leaves no more. I like them much better now, all clean and tidy :D

Week 5, the baby plants have moved to the balcony so they finally have the Box to themselves. I switched on the second cluster of the light, which is already showing in new and proper normal (yeay) growth. We have now made it to 3-bladed leaves with little edges. Amen 🙏 My experience so far with clones is, you need more time and they need lots of attention if you want to do any sort of training. The growth is still wild, some small growth here and there. I removed lots of smaller growth, no room for that. The first clone, which is larger, has now grown passed the edge of the pot. I had to forcefully bend it by 90 degrees. I'm thinking of waiting for the smaller one to also grow to the edge of the pot and then switch to 12:12. Day 2 of Week 5 so it must be Day 30 in total, I can see the results of the second cluster of lights already, hallelujah 🙏 She's rewarding me with lots of new growth which is only what I want to see right now. What a long process, ay ay ay 😬This new growth also makes me want to continue the thought of flowering her soon. I'm not up for heavy yields and since I'm having three, a little smaller plants might be good. As soon as their mother is harvested, which will be in approx. 5 days, they can move to the bigger tent and have perfectly controlled growing conditions. Still lacking a bit behind in controlling the Box conditions properly. It is quite hot and I can either go full humidity or 53%. That's the current state of affairs. Happy with them ❤️ Last Day of Week 5. I realized that the plants I defoliated less, are now growing more happily than the first and large clone. I defoliated that one heavily and she is only showing very little new and happy growth :( Either way. I will keep all of them at peace before they move to the bigger tent. The plan is still to flip as soon as possible. ✌️

Hi week 6. Day 38 - I left them alone the last couple of days, since I stressed them quite a bit. Especially the oldest clone that I defoliated the most heavy was suffering and showing little new growth. So no defoliation only with the younger clones. Those I didn't defoliate heavy from the beginning, which they reward with new growth. They still grow wild and the stem structure is a lot different from a "normal" plant from seed. I'm optimistic to move them to the bigger tent with proper conditions and after letting them adjust, flipping to flower soon. Day 39 & 40 - I'm letting them grow again only removing light blocking leaves and small sucker growth. It is also really time consuming to tidy them. They have so much wild growth, their stem also grow fat and twisted. I started to supercrop a bit more. They are all level and almost at the edge of the pot. Will let them rise vertically now, supercrop anything out of line and then move to big tent.

Week 7, Hi ✌️ The 3 clones have been moved to the "bigger" tent from my diy grow box and they are loving it. Much better control of conditions in my main tent, I like. They are rewarding me with great growth and are bushing out nicely. I am currently more of a leaf-tucker than a defoliator. I learned my lesson with defoliating too much, especially on the first clone, poor thing. Most of the nodes I can easily supercrop in a position with better lighting, so no need for me to tidy and remove leaves. Besides that they drink a lot and I had to increase my watering volume. I cut down on the nitrogen a little, since they look too green to me. Also I can already see, that they are nearing the end of their soil. What I mean is, all soil will be consumed by roots soon... Been there with their mother (vegging for 10 weeks in a 3g fabric pot 😬), only this time in a smaller 8l fabric pot. This leads me to thinking, that it is time to flip them. They are 2 days short of finishing Week 7 today and I think it's a good time to flip. Researched a little again, if I should defoliate before Flip, but will sit this one out and defoliate after the stretch. Can't wait 😍 I flipped them to 12:12 on their last day of Week 7. The look glorious ☀️

First week of Flower, yeay 😛 Today is already the last day of the first week of Flower. They have def. stretched a good bit and are getting more and more bushy. The tent is crowded and I am amazed by how a proper stretch actually looks. I was a bit lazy with them and didn't water enough. Now I know how a plant looks like, when she needs water. Good to know :) I also need to start increasing their watering volume, I think I said that last week also, oh man. Anyway. I slowly started to introduce Blooming nutes, with 1ml per 1l, this should be fine. I'm taking out the nitrogen slowly, since last time, I added too much in the beginning of Flower/Stretch and she had too much later on. I would love to defoliate since the humidity is getting higher and I'm worried about airflow... At the same time, I stressed one of them a lot, which I can still see in her growth. In regards to defoliation, I will wait until after stretch. On to the second week ✌️

Week 2 of Flowering and 9 in total, Hi ✌️ I again didn't water them a lot and they were a bit hungry, so they got a bigger watering yesterday. I increased the blooming nutrients to 2ml per l. So far we have one very eager clone, it's one of the younger ones and also the one, I didn't defoliate a lot during veg, so what's that mean?! I surely learned a lesson 🙏 After the bigger watering the humidity went nuts in the tent. Also they are extremely bushy, so I defoliated a little for better airflow. I might need to add another fan... I am happy with them and a bit scared in regards to their size, but I'm loving the stretch so far and can't wait to see where they go 😍

Week 10, today is Day 70, yeay 🙌 3 Weeks of Flowering are over and I finally defoliated on Day 20, yesssss. I accidentally def. one day too early, I wanted to def. on Day 21. Oh well 🤪 They look great, started to smell a little. I didn't defoliate too much smaller growth, maybe 1/4 from the bottom. They all had a lots of small nodes growing at the bottom. Must be from the monster cropping. Either way, they recovered well I guess. I don't feed them any Nitrogen no more. Learned that from their mother plant. She had way too much and showed overfeeding in later Flower. Good week, on to the next ☀️✌️

Week 11 and more and more frost is showing. Her pistils are growing nicely along the whole stem. The canopy is not as even as I'd like, but I can't spread them out further due to lack of room. So far it's crowded but the snug in perfectly. Happy with their progress 😍 Can't wait to see how they progress and to welcome some more of those beautiful buds 🙏 They drink a lot, must be their small pot size of 8l. I started alternating between pure water and a half dose of Biobizz Bloom and Topmax. Happy week ❤️

5 Weeks of Flower, yeay 😍 They are stacking up nicely, just like their mom. Everything's working well, cut out the Nitrogen completely now. Watering with plain PH water between feedings seems to be good for them. No need for an inbetween flush atm. Happy week ❤️ Good week is over today. They are all doing well and are waiting for another defoliation around Day 40. They are evenly stacking up, some colas are pretty massive. I'm happy 😍

Hi week 13, today is Day 89 in total an 42 days of Flower 😍 They are exactly like their mum, nicely stacking buds, nice glitter and already denser bud structure. One of the clones shows first signs of color fading, can't wait. It's amazing to roughly know, what's happening next. I guess that's one of the good things with a clone too. Good week so far. Did a last defoliation today. Removed all the super small buds at the bottom of the plant and some top fan leaves that are still blocking bud sites. All is well ✌️ Can't wait for her to finish, some 20 days to go yeay 😍 Last day of Week 13 and 6 weeks of Flowering. Wow 😍 Her fading hast started and all three of them are just beautiful. Can't wait yeay. Have installed an automatic watering machine thing. Will have to leave them alone for 5 days, hope that all goes well. Peace ✌️

After 5 days away, I couldn't wait to be back and see how they were doing 😍 I'm glad the automatic watering machine worked and they all are doing great, yeay. The fade has started and they look beautiful, just like their Mama ❤️ They have only been fed with water while I was gone and got a good (last?) feed on the last day of week 14, which is Day 98 in total and Day 51 of Flower. Their mom was sent into darkness on Day 62 of flower and since they are so similar, my guess is roughly the next 10 days. Yeay 🙌 I missed this bud. Happy week everyone ✌️

Happy belated Day 100 my dear Clones, today is Day 101 and 54 of Flower 🌹😍❤️ Another week and we should be good to harvest. Had a first look at her trichomes, milky with some clear. Bring it on my sweet sugar ✌️ And look at that beautiful rainbow 🌈 Always stunned by the sheer beauty of those plants, this one in particular 😍 Day 104 and 57 in Flower, just more rainbows. Watered with pure water, they still drink a lot... Let's see, will have to check the trichomes soon. Can't wait ❤️

Week 16 Day 109 and 62 in Flower today 😍 Their Mama went into dark on Day 62 of Flower, so I checked their trichomes today. They all look nearly finished, at least the top buds are all good to go. I will wait another day or two and then they will go into darkness. Next weekend will be a good time to harvest yeay ☀️ They have been fed a little water every two days for the last couple of days. Humidity has dropped quite a bit in the tent but it's still hot. Luckily temperatures are going down a little bit. Can't wait for my little rainbows 🌈 ❤️ Day 111 and 64 in Flower, one last day with light 😍 Added some trich shots of one the clones. Good call to send them into darkness. And guys, the colours aaaaaaaaaaaaah 😍😍😍

Oh how much I hesitate to do the same and bend the bitches and tie them. Looking at what did you weird BDSM analogies comes to mind :-D About the main cola/LST thing - I tend to think of it as of a fountain or a geyser that shoots upwards, and the branches are exits for the flow so that if you bend the main cola, it searches for a way up through other branches :-D The fountain is called osmotic pressure as far I as know. Don't know if that analogy is any use to you :-D Also removing the leaves according to most of the botany people is not a good idea like they're accumulating energy and used a lot during the flowering phase... I've read something similar that Jorge Cervantes was saying... Though I'm still not sure if all those leaves are useful if they cover all the lower branches so that light won't ever reach them. Cheers and happy growing!

@bobtheblob, Oh wow, that is extremely helpful information, thank you. I have been researching a lot the last days and also found that they might be revegging at the moment and that I accidentally am monster cropping. I took them 2 weeks into flower and 4 weeks into flower if I remember correctly. The growth is wild, some leaves grow with regular pattern but only 1 blade, some 1 and what could be a half, haha and others grow like leaves that have nothing to do with the plant, very funny and shocking at the same time. What is weird is that this growth only appeared to have happened when they were moved under the new light inside the box with 18 hours of light. Before they were on my kitchen table with the regular sunshine hours. After all, I also think they are revegging and I hope it's over soon. It's a bit painful to see and leaves me with lots of training all the weirdness. Thanks for letting me know that this will eventually be over, on to monstrous plants, yeay ✌️ Have a good day
bobtheblob
bobtheblobcommented5 years ago
@starke, they look like they were re-vegged actually, now when I looked a bit closer at one of the last pictures I see that the branching pattern is kinda spiral and not crossed - when weed is in a vegetative stage the branches grow so that lower branches are perpendicular to the upper ones, and if you look at the plant from the top you see an X, and when switching to flowering the pattern is changing to the one that you have now. Could it be so that clones were cut from the flowering plant? If yes then this situation is called monster cropping as far as I remember, and I had this a couple of times (and the leaves were super curly just as yours), and the results were monstrous actually :-) At some point it looks more natural btw. So you're kinda lucky, congrats 😉if it's the case
starke
starkecommented5 years ago
@bobtheblob, do it hahaaaaaa and yes, that's good analogies also with the LST geyser 😁 The leaves I had to tidy, if any later I wouldn't have been able to sort anything out in the lower department, they are going nuts 😂I have really not found a lot of information or photos, as to what is happening and when it will be over. Happy that I have three clones and can try. Definitely adventorous. Happy growing to you too ☀️

So the lesson is not to defoliate or to defoliate only in flower? 😬 I've defoliated mine ones and not sure if it was right or not and the only excuse I have is that there was almost no light at the lower branches level
starke
starkecommented5 years ago
@bobtheblob, from my experience with these clones, I would say, don't aggressively defoliate during reveg. Defoliating leaves that block bud sites and provide better airflow is good and I will continue doing it, no matter if in veg or during early flower. I defoliated heavily in their reveg phase, since I was so fed up by their weird growth. Looking back at their growth during the last weeks, the two clones I defoliated less aggressively, are not only caught up in size to the older clone but are also showing more growth in height and volume in general. Currently, the smallest clone in the tent, is the oldest and heavily defoliated.
