08/08 noticing some discolouration - not sure if this is more likely a response to upping feed strength, not enough air circulation, maybe the recent cold, or a combo?? watered gals w tap and splash white vinegar, ~1.5l between. 10/08 w the question advice i've fed the gals (1.75l between) and will up sweetaz flower nutes again for their next feed. temps have been more mild again the last few days, although the batteries have just died on me hygrometer. will recharge n replace in a couple days, feed again and take update pics of the discolouration. 13/08 up'd sweetaz feed strength, fed ~2l between gals. discolouration doesn't seem to be worsening, will upload pics soon. weather has been pretty mild recently meaning tent temps should be stable 15/08 end of week heights are trained bs ~42cm and ls ~39. pics uploaded

Did u water well the lights were on? Potentially get any on those leaves? Water on the leaves during lights on can cause burning from the grow light being magnified. All areas affected look like potential leaves to get watered/splashed on.

Black or blueish patches on leaves (specially bottom ones first) are a first symptom of phosphorous deficiency, which is very common in the flowering stage, it means you need to up the flower nutes. Also I have to mention that it can also happen due ph been out of range and since you don't post pH values, I have to assume that you are not measuring and adjusting it, meaning it could be a reason for the issue you are having. Whatever the cause, the patches will start to look necrotic and if not solved, the issue will continue, severely affected leaves will develop dark metallic purple color patches, will also curl, wither and drop, as the plant takes the phosphorous out of the bottom leaves to try to power the bud formation.

These are male pollen sacs, not a good thing, your plant is starting to hermie. One of the biggest worries with a hermie (a plant with both female and male parts) is that the pollen sacs will burst and pollinate your flowers. This will "seed" your buds. In other words, this will cause your buds to start focusing on producing seeds. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember " Happy Growing and Free your mind one puff at a time ".

did you like the results of the fimming or would you rather recommend topping?

@urbanbud, thank you very helpful!

@Maggie_de_Block, hey mate. hard for me to say as i haven't topped before, what i can say is that i'm happy with the results i got with fim'ing which i went with for 2 main reasons. 1. potential for 4 points of new growth and 2. slightly less stress as the butchered growth heals and continues to grow and the half leaves do their plant thang producing energy rather than losing all of it. seems overall tho that both techniques are equally utilised by experienced growers and many go for a combination of both. more important to just do em more than one being more effective than the other :)

@Garreweedlover, cheers man! yeah these sisters are hella leafy - seems they didn't stretch much. i'm not sure why, but it suits me just fine cause my tent is pretty small. defoliation soon to make some room haha. checked your plant diaries, good effort getting them through to harvest!

Water spots are always a possibility too. On my 19 day old auto, it has a little bit of damage from light bleaching, water splash, and a fungal infection that was there probably before it sprouted and was introduced by contamination from my humidifier. Its hard to tell what damage is from which, except I learned from my first grow to be careful when watering (but its still easy to splash a leaf) and that if I did get any on a leaf, to kill the light until the plant dries so it doesn't become scorched through. Once it begins pre-flower, I'll switch from 24/0 to 18/6 since this strain gets picky about heat in flower and I don't have A/C. I think Cal Mag is almost universally used even in soil (you might find some super soil users who don't need it). And I think every big nutrient company has a Cal Mag supplement. I didn't use it last grow and had major deficiencies in calcium, magnesium, and iron well before the end (they began around week 5). I think you burn a lot up in veg as calcium is needed by plants to develop healthy stems and leaves just as we need it to form teeth and bones. A magnesium deficiency can take over 5 weeks to show symptoms and will often go with a calcium deficiency, but it has distinct signs of its own. At any rate, if you check the label of whatever your nutes are and compare it to what's in Cal Mag, you'll see its near universal (you probably don't have much of either in it and I doubt its in your soil unless its organic). I like to keep it simple but I don't think you can dodge adding it, whether you buy it or make your own (its as simple as things like epsom salts for magnesium but I still preferred to just buy it once and be done with it).

@Spyder7, all about keeping it simple here too but yeah i'll be headed out to get a small bit in case more are spotting up over the coming week. sensi cal mag xtra looks like a locally available product. bloody hoping it's not a fungus/disease, but it is just getting into winter here so things are more ofter than not damp outside around this outdoor tent
