Both sharks are doing well. The one shark had a twin in the same seed should have taken a picture. The one was struggling behind the other so going into week 2 I separated them will wait and see what happens

Marge is looking strong and healthy. It was day 16 that I added U-Cann thrive(azomit basalt glacier dust and much more) into the top of the soil along with Epsom salt, MYCORRHIZAE and diatomaceous earth. I carefully worked it into the top 2" of soil and watered with compost tea and EM1 to activate organisms in soil. All week I checked ph of soil and runoff and it still holds at 6.8. The 2 cob cree lights also arrived so I'm using them at 18" to supplement until I can keep them outside full time, I'm in Alberta Canada and its still getting down to 0° at night. I'm impressed she went from 4" to 7" this week and is looking super healthy Update..it was pointed out that my plants are cupping, after searching for a answer I think its either the lights are too close (not hot enough here to break 80) or not enough Cal(I have both quick and slow release Cal in the soil) so still think lights were too close, so moved up lights to see if the help. May 17 had the plants out for a day in the sun 22° . Not sure if it was the sun or my light but noticed that the tips on the top new growth has yellow tips, nowhere else will watch to see if it worsens. Day 27...Moved lights up to 20", cut light schedule 18/6 and started LST. Moving lights up has stopped the light burn with the leaves looking a lot better. The LST has sure made bottom leaves pop, everything is is looking good

When it comes to autoflower what's the consensus on pruning? I've read that because of the short qrow time pruning/ pinching is not advised. What about bottom leaves, if I remove them won't that promote top growth

firstly you have a Cal def, common in organic growth, second, for pruning, is allowed but more studied than FT because you can't decide when start flowering. you can do one, two times in precise moment of growth, like preflowering (defoliation) or the initial fase of growth like this moment ... don't do both together (prune and defoliation) don't remove more than 10% of leaf covering every time you apply. for defoliate i'm using on auto only if leaf cover bud sites or there isn't enough airflow inside ladies

Going into week 4 I've moved lights up to 20 inches and went to a 18/6 light schedule which seems to have helped, I haven't seen any leaf discoloring since doing this. I also started LST on the early miss middle of last week. Just before doing the LST I got a measurement of 10 inches tall , which it's still holding but every set of bottom leaves that were small have all exploded up even ones that were barely visible have grown out and up so she's starting to fill in all around. I'm also leaf tucking instead of removing unless they are dragging in the soil. May 25 day 32. Watered and had outside yesterday and today. At this point I dont see anything apparently wrong nor do I know what to look for if there is a problem so I'll continue on doing what I have been and see what happens.

Another week come and gone. Being that I haven't grown before it's hard to tell if anything is wrong or if it's on schedule. At this point its coming along filling out and up, it looks like it's in the beginning flower stage. I haven't changed anything, and not sure if I will. June 1 I continue to leaf tuck and remove damaged or unnecessary leaves along with LST. It continues to get bigger with the start of flowering starting to happen. Fusion one of the community members has grown this strain and let me know that this strain needs another 10-14 days and he's correct I'm at 41days and it's just starting to flower.

I haven't deviated from my light schedule at 18/6. I'm still using compost tea,EM1, humic/ folvic acid, fermented juice(kombucha)and blackstrap molasses. As of this week I have added Gaia Green U-Bloom 2-7-7. My LST I think is paying off as I have several places for buds to grow in. Not sure if I did it right but hey learning curve. All in it's looking healthy now we hurry up and wait June 7 day 45. Adjusted some of the stakes, removal of leaves. Have noticed that some of the new leaves, but only some have yellow tips. I thought maybe nitrogen but then why not all the other leaves in the area, then wondered about lights too close but again why that set and not the growth around at same height, why didn't they get burned? Have been watching every day and nothing new or worse. So again wait and watch Happy growing Everyone

Week 7 I'm happy with everything, with nothing to compare to(my first real grow) I think I'm on track. It just keeps get taller and filling out. I keep leaf tucking where I can and remove leaves if needed. I have switched now to U-Cann u-bloom 2-7-7. Still keeping to 18/6 light schedule. Just trying to keep her going June15 day 53. I top dressed yesterday with the U-Bloom which is a dry fertilizer ammendment (azomite rock dust basalt ect) and watered in with compost tea. It's in full flower mode so just been trying to give it what it needs to go through its final stages. June 17 day 55 end of week 7 still looking good not seeing any problems. Watered with compost tea last night watch and wait

June 24 this girl just keeps putting on weight, which is fine by me. I've done a good job keeping the soil alive, other than the first few weeks showing a bit of deficiencies I really haven't seen many problems. My cree cob lights have done a decent job from seedling to flower, have a 320w qb that I have on the way to fill in the tent. All in all this grow is treating me well. The smell is very citrusy so far and drinking like an open bar, cant believe how much water it's taking in. Happy growing!

Gold and brown textures like sun.. It's been a cool process to watch the transformation from seed to day 70 and especially more into the budding stage. Don't think I would have kept track with as many notes and pictures had it not been for my journals on growdiaries, so thanks for making this possible for me to share. July 8 day 76 in her final days now! Day 70- everyday and in every way it keeps getting bigger and bigger. At this point I'm just helping her home lol, not giving her anything as it's a living soil so just the usual feeding as mentioned above. My bottom leaves, none on top or tips are starting to yellow and die off slowly which I understand is a good sign that the plant is pulling the last of the nutrients at a slow rate, do I understand this correctly? Again first grow that's made it this far and I have to think that it's still going good. Room for improvement, hells ya always but that's what it's all about. Happy growing!

It's all downhill now. Everyday the buds are getting bigger and its starting to turn white on the sugar leaves. Most of the trichomes are still clear with a few cloudy here and there, so maybe a week, not sure haven't been this far into a grow so check everyday and monitor the situation

Had you told me at the beginning of this grow that this would enter week 13 I would have argued with you. Well I thought the Miss would be harvested by now but I checked it yesterday morning and its still not ready, so very close I'll guess the end of this week. She has her own smell, at moments it smells sweet and skunky then like diesel then something almost sickly sweet, you'd have to smell it to see what I mean,a unique smell unlike other strains. As usual wait and watch

Well kids the days has come! I'm happy with what I'm seeing on the bud, the trichomes are cloudy with about 10-15% amber so it seems right to me, dont know haven't done this before so will see how it turns out and reevaluate my notes and grow to improve where needed. So tomorrow morning she's coming down, will update soon.

So this morning she came down. Its been a longer grow than expected, the package said 8 weeks, I came up just under 14 weeks so had to rethink my other grows. Did I make mistakes, you betcha I did but who doesn't, but every grow from here out will just make me a better cultivator. I think this was a good start for the wife and myself being our first real attempt that didn't get thwarted, a great learning experience for the both of us and look forward to our other girls coming along. Check back later, happy growing everyone! July 28 been hanging for 2 days so far, been trying to maintain 67° at 50% humidity and of course as soon as we harvest heat wave moves in been over 30 so been fighting to keep temperature down, its looking and smells good. Aug 1 update. Spent the morning trimming some of the buds that were ready, rest are still hanging and drying. Been a brutal week as the heatwave here has made it a challenge to maintain temps and humidity. Aug 3, it was done drying yesterday and was trimmed up and put into jars for a cure period. Overall it was a good first grow for us. We learned a lot that will help our next grows for sure. In total we ended up with 107gr, which works out to about .5gr a watt, so I believe most people try for an average 1gr a watt so some room to Improve

@Garreweedlover,I thought you maintain Ph 6.2 as the target all through the grow? I need to update my early miss its actually in week five and is just starting to preflower do I have my lights too close I thought my autoflower would be a lot taller, bushing like crazy with the LST but not much height.

@Garreweedlover, hey appreciate you having a look. I'm doing it hybrid I guess lol. I'm in Canada so the night temps are still too cool to leave out. So I take them out on nice days then bring them into the tent for the evening and if it's a cool day i leave them inside all day. I had a look at your page your plants are looking healthy I dont know what advice I can offer as I dont have a clue on what I'm doing lol no really I dont. I can grow plants always have been good at growing but when it comes to marijuana I've tried 3 different times and something has got in the way but not this time lol I'm seeing it through and learning on the go. So hit me up if you have any questions or if you see I'm doing something wrong let me know.

I was using an aglex grow light for a bit.. Quite a nice grow light for the price.. would recommend em to anyone.. You got a really nice pull with your light :).
MRwick1
MRwick1commented5 years ago
@DeadwebsiteBoringcommunity,thank you. I'm really quite happy with these lights I went with 2 600w cobs and they do a decent job just not enough footprint, at most 2x2 flower, so between the 2 aglex and quantum board I'm happy for now lol. Almost bought the g220w lightstrip, it's a sexy looking unit from aglex
MRwick1
MRwick1commented5 years ago
@DeadwebsiteBoringcommunity,when the wife and i started our grow in April we had nothing, and little experience with growing marijuana. So I got to reading how and why on marijuana and my budget allowed for 2 cheap lights and in my research I had 5 lights picked and aglex ended up being what I grabbed and I'm glad I did, nothing wrong with these lights they work well just not a big enough light footprint 2x2 at most which left half my grow space with no light. I really can't complain about the yield and these lights, worked well and I also would recommend them, in fact it was down to the 250w quantum board or aglex g220w grow strip for my new light purchase and the quantum board had a bit better specs or I would have grabbed a new aglex.

@SmylinPupil,thank you for the kind words. Just checked her this morning and she's done as I hit 14 weeks in 2 days. Will be taking her down first thing tomorrow morning. Kinda messed my timing in the grow room because of the extra time needed but all is well. What did you yield if you dont mind me asking? Thanks again and happy growing

Just to let you know, cropkings info on this strain is 100% off. Harvest is not 7 wks will run almost double that time. Tip: top the shit out of it. I got 6 branches but if was assertive could have got a dozen or more before flipped to flower. Dont get discurraged if dont work out its is a hard strain to be growing your first time; good luck with her.

northernMikecommented5 years ago
@Fusion,I have great success with the crop king just about a 80% success,3 ounces dry Lambs breath, 3 ounces dry Candy cane, 2 ounces dry early miss👍 I found that you can top and train(light lst) cloning does not work for autos as they are on their own schedule. With autos I recommend 0 food just water for the first 2-3 weeks, after that use only one third to half the recommended amount of nutes and boosters(master grower rec.) I'm still learning too, seems like it's an experiment everytime. Compare your auto plants to a car, autos are pedal to the metal from start to finish, photos are on cruise control from start to finish Check out my diaries, if i can help, let me know. Later!! Grow Big!!

@MRwick1, I'm one for doing things I'm told not to do.. lol . If you look at my Moby dick autos will see I killed that theroy can't top an auto. You can but only while it's in veg. Once you see the whisps starting of the preflowers you're done. The topped are same as the non topped but producing a higher yeild Cloning you can't change the cycle. But not trying too, just adding yield from the lower cutting that won't grow anyways. Won't get much height but will add to your yield
MRwick1
MRwick1commented5 years ago
@Fusion, I appreciate your knowledge, I'm starting to see that autos can do more. Most anything I've read say dont clone dont top don't don't don't lol. I'm looking forward to future grows with the new info iwont be using crop kings the early miss was given to me. I recieved my 20 beans yesterday so picked 3 and got them going last night. Nice looking plant and pictures. This strain was also my first grow (no previous gardening knowledge/experience to tap though), and it was a lot of fun to both grow and smoke. I'm growing it again and the bud just popped above the soil today. I'm also in northern Canada (closer to Quebec though), and growing it in soil and under a COB/CRREE LED (150W UFO). I pulled about 30 grams off it my first time around, almost half a gram/watt as it draws 63 watts, so that's what I'm looking to improve on. I got that from just decent potting soil, a little potassium from kelp (this plant loves kelp), and some concentrated potash I got the last week before flush as a freebie. I used, and am again, Pro-mix which has the Mycorrhizae in it, which I see you added, and whose role I now more fully appreciate having gotten the benefits it promises, though I only saw that in hindsight (no issues with mildew or mold for instance). I'm mostly looking to duplicate but improve on that grow, as Pro-Mix is good for cheap potting soil, but is still only cheap potting soil and I did run into nutrient deficiencies for the better part of the second half of the grow. This time I have more nutes as I wanted to first establish how well it would do on nearly nothing (there were few journals to look at when I researched it last December, and a lot of the ones that did messed up with Miracle Grow or over feeding and getting tiny yields as a result of it). Are you planning to do any plant training? I found it responded well to LST, though I tried too early in week 2 the first time and post-poned it to week 3 after having only a mangled plant to show for it (though the plant recovered fine in time). It responds very well to LST though: I kept it to 17" in height through LST. Its very hardy, and a lot of fun to grow and smoke.

Spyder7commented5 years ago
@MRwick1,your soil sounds really good. I have 3 gallons of Pro-Mix with an extra 15% of their brand perlite added in for better drainage. I don't transplant but instead do a 15 hour soil soak and then germinate in a paper towel until I see a tap root, then plant directly into a fabric pot. I'm 3 for 3 with this method and seed so far: my first I thought I lost because I was using tweezers and it slipped out somewhere over the pot, though I had no idea where. Since weed was plentiful then retail, and I had 4 free seeds, I wrote the seed off and germinated a second. The first did come up (as well as the second) about 8 days after I planted it, but I didn't have space for two plants so I clipped it. A tweak I added this time was to mix in some 3% hydrogen peroxide (1 teaspoon/gallon) to the soak, That did seem to shorten the germination time. I'm looking to go mostly organic and I have some nutes to add in different stages as recommended to make up where it fell short last time. Though for the first week I'm just giving it ph'd water until day 7 when I'm going to introduce it to 20% strength Marphyl kelp. Its a 4-0-1 soil enhancer/conditioner with some phosphorous in there too and lots of Cal Mag. For Bloom, I'm mostly using Bud Juice (Micro and Bloom) which are also both organic. One is very high in potassium and the other is in phosphorous. Though I'm going to try them at half strength just to see how the plant responds, once its ready. This plant responds really well to LST and without that or some HST method like super-cropping, this plant can get very tall if you give it enough light and the right nutes. But because of its genetics, its very easy to train and if I don't see a need to defoliate, I'll probably just use LST as it can be trained to grow like a flat table (I had achieved that last grow before defoliation and nute deficiencies thinned the plant out. I really recommend LST. There's a lot of journals showing what well trained Early Miss can yield with enough light and the nutes dialed in. It responds very well to it so any stress doesn't hurt yield (the opposite: it'll yield more with LST and week 3 is a good time to try it).

@Spyder7, thank you for the compliment. I have tried an ak-47 that didn't do much my fault I kept transplanting into bigger pots and it suffered on my behalf. So this auto is already bigger at 3 weeks than the ak ever got so already it's out preforming. I live in olds north of Calgary in a rural town of 9000. Being a farming community I have lots of sources available within a 5 min drive. Pro-mix(priemere horticulture) is here in olds so I can get broken bails and bags for cheap plus stellar black earth around here and in addition we have a top notch agriculture collage here that has helped with questions on anything plant science. They introduced me to growing beneficial bacteria and organisms. I build supersoil. 2/3 pro-mix hp MYCORRHIZAE. The other 1/3 is a mix of compost with worm castings, coco choir compost, alfalfa kelp compost and a marine compost mix with seaweed. To this I add Epsom salt, diatomaceous earth, mycorrhizae spores, U-cann thrive(azomite basalt glacier and rock dust and 62 other micronutrients) humic/folvic acid and pulverized egg shell. Mix really well till all powders are well incorporated. I water this down with compost tea and EM1 to get the organisms establishing life in the soil before the plant goes in. I try for 30 days to let sit in the sun. If I did this correctly I shouldn't need anything in ways of fertilizer or boosts of any kind it's already there with the fast and slow release of the macro and micronutrients I just need to keep the organisms alive with the help of the compost tea EM1 and blackstrap molasses as my sugar to feed the organisms. Does it work not sure lol this is a trial to see. We have done it with our other plants and yes we did notice the difference in our garden last year and what we have going this year, the flowers and herbs are huge and it's only may long. I tried LST on my ak and it was working the plant didn't grow enough because of me to see the end results. I read both pros and cons, is it worth it in your eyes? Any insight is always welcome and again thank you for the compliment
