Thursday, June 12th, soaked 6 seeds in spring water and kept in a warm, dark place. Sunday, June 14th, all 6 of the seeds just popped and showed their tap roots. Put them in solo cups in a soil mix of 5 different ingredients. Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Soil, Roots Organic Original Potting Soil, Black Gold Organic Potting Soil, General Hydroponics Ancient Forest Soil and G&B Organics Gro-Worm Worm Castings. The seed holes were sprinkled with Great White Mycorrhizae and lightly sprayed with a light mixture of Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed and Urb. They are sitting in the tent with 24 hours of light until they all come above soil. 6500k fluorescent bulbs. Tent is at a steady 78°F and the cups have domes on them. I have labeled them BW1 thru BW6. The plan is before putting into final pot, pick the best 4 plants to move into 10 gallon fabric pots with a special mix of soil. Tuesday, June 16th, BW1 sprouted. Expect others very soon. Wednesday, June 17th. BW1 coming along. None of the others have sprouted yet. Thursday, June 18th. BW3 sprouted and is in the game. Friday, Juneteenth, BW5 is trying to get out, I dug it out a little to give her a little more breathing room. If I don't see any action out of the other three by Sunday, I'm going to soak 3 more seeds and try again.

How long does it normally take for a germinated seed to pop through the soil? 1 went in 1 day, the others I'm on day 3 with nothing.

When I germ it usually takes about 3 days to pop from coco/rapid rooter in a humidity dome and light . Depending how long I had the seed or how old your seed is i usually give them 10 days max in 75-80 degrees temp 70RH or higher

Sunday, June 21st. We'll, only two of the original 6 did anything. Got 3 more with good healthy taproots in the soil. Cross my fingers. Tuesday June 23rd. Two of the three newbies sprouted. Wednesday, June 24th. Last one sprouted Saturday, June 27th. Most of them are moving along, except for BW3. Something is wrong.

What do you think is going on here? Is it just a mutant? I have not given it anything but water and on one occasion gave it liquid seaweed and water.

way too much water my man, see how the perlite is turning green? thats algae from overwatering. let it dry out before watering. it likes it dry sometimes make it search for water. over watering is worse than under watering. good luck bro

Sunday, June 28th. Most seem song ebut BW3 is going weird. Should be a week of feeding water and just checking temps. I will upload some pictures of the root systems this week also. Wednesday, July 1st. Just regular maintenance. Little water. Spray the leaves. Humidifier is keeping the tent 60%-65% RH and 78°F. Saturday, 4th of July. Happy Birthday, America. The plants are looking great. I think tomorrow I will mix up some super soil and get it ready for transplanting these 5 plants into 10 gallon fabric pots.

I have my seedlings under a 4-bulb 6500k fluorescent light fixture at an 18/6 light schedule. When would be a good time to introduce the plants to my Black Dog Phytomax 1000W lamp?

From my understanding black dog led lamps are good from seedling to flower, IMO you can place your seedling under your black dog lamp just keep it far away from light so your seedling can grow into the light. I placed my seedling under my ts600 from mars hydro about 30in away and there just fine.

In my experience,, from the day you notice a root or two popping out the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot to about a week later her roots would've filled out the pot well enough to be ready for transplanting to a bigger pot... To give you a better idea of when to transplant: when growing organically in soil, plants tend to use up most of the nutrients available in the soil after roughly 3 weeks... This period can be stretched by using amended soil with worm castings and slow release fertilizers, but lets use 3 weeks as our base for reasoning... If a plant uses al available nutrients in 3 weeks time after being planted into a pot,, that would mean that the roots have filled out the pot around the 3 week mark by looking for nutrients to absorb and would then be ready for transplant to the next size pot. So I'd say if she's been in the cup for about 3 weeks,, her rootball should be ready for a transplant! Hope this helps! And good luck... She looks very healthy so far!! 😁

Crazy week of work so try to catch up on details. Got soil mixed and put into five 10 gallon fabric pots. Everything got transplanted and showed no signs of stress or harm. Watered with mix of urb, liquid seaweed and spring water. Very light. Will feed with compost tea on Sunday.

In the last couple days, the plant that has been doing the best is now having some dried out, crumbly leaf tips. It is not undewatered. Has it just got through all the nutrients in the soil? The roots are very healthy.

Looks like there's some heat stress going on from the leaf edges curling up. Also are there drain holes in those cups? the medium looks really saturated almost to the point i'm wondering if there's a over-watering issue causing your leaf damage. I can also see algae on the perlite on your soil.. so yeah i'm pretty sure this is all an over-watering issue.. Looks like your planning on transplanting soon.. I say the sooner the better.. Get them out of those solo cups pronto!! Hope this helps.. Happy growing.. 👊

7/12. Sorry I haven't updated. Been working long weeks. So, I got the tent stabilized. Humidity is at a constant 55%. I brewed a batch of compost tea made from fresh compost, worm castings, Urb, molasses, and Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed. I gave each plant about a half gallon each through a sprayer.
