This is my first grow so any tips/criticism are welcome.
Using Purple Cow Indicanja soil (0.8-0.8-0.8) advertised as "only add water" but I have GH flora trio, Gaia power bloom and liquid silica at my disposal.
The baby seems to be doing good so far, haven't been giving it much water (1-2 oz every 2 days) but will gradually start on week 2.
Day 8 Week 2 is here, I got excited and transplanted. Watered about 12 hours before and she slid right out of the solo cup when I turned it upside down.
Watered the new pot around where the roots would be. Roots were visible when I transplanted (sorry no pictures of them.)
Hoping for good growth this week!
Day 9: not much news today. Checked on her and seems to be doing fine! No water just yet, gonna give it till tomorrow.
Day 10: watered around roots only, used about 8 oz of water with a 6.8 pH
Day 11: just checked on her in the morning and isn't as droopy, guess she wasn't as thirsty as I thought yesterday😂 anyways she's perked back up and growing well
Day 12: good growth! I'm gonna let her dry out before I water again
Day 13: her stem is getting thicker! the soil settled a little so I added some more to the top.
Day 14: started LST nice and early. Don't really know if it helps at this stage but I'll keep tying her down as she grows.

It's advertised as water only, but I have my doubts. There isn't much information on this soil out there.
My question is when/if I should be adding nutrients?

Hi there,I will not add any nute if the plant doesn’t show any deficiency.I will maintain my water pH and run off to be around 6.5.I’ve an experience that underfeed is better than overfeed.Good luck.
Day 15: She's growing day by day. Very low maintenance so far with this purple cow soil. Just pH water every few days!
Day 16: gave her less than a cup of pH'd water. Guess I should wait 4-5 days in between bc she seems droopy again. Anyways I also FIMed the new growth above the 4th node.
Day 17: doesn't seem too stressed from the FIMing yesterday.
Day 18: noticed the bottom leaf tips curling. No discoloration and seems happy other than that.
Day 20: definitely been overwatering. She's quite droopy today but still growing
Day 21: no water for a couple more days. It's slowly drying out from my wild watering. The FIM worked and I now have alot more growth on the top! Definitely starting to branch out on all nodes. I've noticed it's smell faintly if I'm right up on it. Ready to see what week 4 will bring!
I'm on day 18 since sprout with Mandarin Sunset by Ethos. Today I noticed the tips of some leaves on the bottom of my plant are curling down. Anyone know what this could be?
Looks like she's starting to tell you she wants more water!!! Other than that quite healthy looking. I'm guessing more underwatering than over as your medium and your diary state a small dose watering schedule. Cheers and happy growing!
Tried to FIM 2 days ago and now I'm wanting to know if it looks like I did it correctly. Couldn't get my camera to focus after many attempts, so the quality of the photo is bad.
Looks fine to me. I leave around 30% behind when I fim. You want the cut to almost look like a freshly cut lawn.bwhen you can see the center cells of many shoots like I can in your pic your golden. Let's hope it turns into 6 extra tops for you!! Cheers and happy growing!

Day 22: she sure is looking better since I'm not drowning her anymore! The growth tips created by FIM technique are taking off! I'm gonna let it go a little longer and then try again at LST.
Day 24: finally watered after waiting uhhh 4 or 5 days lol this thing is so short and bushy I wish it'd grow upwards a little. Doing good though 👍
Day 25: started LST again and she responded well after a few hours
Day 26: new growth looking good. Finally got my kush n cookies cbd seeds I'm gonna grow with this one. They're gonna be a month apart in age so Mandarin Sunset will be bigger.
Day 28: just tying down what shoots up. She's doing good!
no they are not. preflowering is when you switch the plant in flowering (12/12) and is when the plant is starting to show pre-flowers. so if it's in vegi, no chance to see sexes yet or preflowering signs
Week 5 is here and I found out it's a she! Super happy about that. Seems like water every 3-4 days is the sweet spot. Plan on vegging for about 6 more weeks so she'll probably get pretty big. Got her step sister germinating right now I'll be starting a new diary on.
Day 30: gave her a cup of water at 6.3 pH this morning and she's looking good this afternoon!
Day 31: looking happy
Day 33: readjusted ties this morning and have her some water with a touch of silica
Day 35: another day of good growth!
Week 6
Day 36, Watering day. She's been drinking more lately. I started routing the top around the pot since it's touching one side. Going good👍
Day 38, While looking under leaves today I noticed one branch barely hanging on lol I guess my LST was too rough last time I adjusted it and it slowly broke. Anyways that branch is as healthy as the rest and I taped her up so I'm sure she's good to go!
Day 41, I left for 3 days so she didn't get watered till I got back but she's doing great. Growing taller and taller now
Day 43, she's been doing great lately. Having to water every 2 days now, after watering she shoots up about an inch the next day.
Day 45, Watered this morning with a touch of sillica to up the pH to 6.9. came home this evening and surprise! she's taller! Readjusted the ties today as well. Plucking a few bottom leaves daily. Mainly the ones yellowing under the thick canopy
Day 47, having some discoloration on newer growth lately. Either deficiency or pH lockout. We will soon find out🙃
Day 48, rearranged the tent a little and took a dozen or so leaves/growth off the bottom
Day 49, adjusted ties and pruned a few baby shoots towards the bottom. Watered with 6.1 pH
The top new growth is definitely yellowing. The yellowing is spreading from the inside of the leaf out to the tips and also along the leaf edges making it almost look like a calmag issue which is common to mistake it for, but you have to look at the whole plant. Cal mag usually affects the lower and middle growth. High ph is usually the caused iron def. Keep ph between 6.2-6.5 for soil. If your sure the ph is good go ahead and add mineral
Beginning of week 8 and man has she grown! Been watering with 6.2 pH to overcome lockout.
Day 51, Didn't really bother her today just letting her do her thing.
Day 52, watering @ 6.5pH
Day 54, first time giving nutrients! pH at 6.5 she's a wild girl these days. Can't wait for these flowers
Day 55, she really liked the feeding I gave her yesterday!
Day 57, fed her again today. She's gonna explode when I flip the lights lol
58, I did quite a bit of pruning off fan leaves (can't really tell) lmao and reset all my ties.
Day 59, pot is getting light but still a little moisture in there so I'm letting her go another day before I feed her again.
Day 60, fed her today @ 6.5pH
Day 62, nothing new
Day 64,
Got a tomato cage and cut it down to size since I can't really tie off to anything else right now. She's doing good, loving the food and is growing alot more day by day. I'll be flipping the lights soon 🤙
Day 65, responded just as expected to a lil LST, she seems pretty happy!
Day 67, I haven't messed with her in a couple days. Haven't pruned any leaves off in quite awhile! Just letting her consume her old leaves the natural way. Lots of budsites on this girl!!
Took a week vacation and just got back.
Day 73 I just got back and tucked some of the branches around the cage. Fed her two days ago and she's as bushy as she can get! First 12 hour night tonight. FLIPPING TO FLOWER🤙
The switch is upon us! Put my funny looking scrog net on her today. Gave her plenty of plain water pH'd @6.4 this is exciting 😁😁
Day 76, she's beginning her stretch! Plan to flush again then on to bloom nutes.
Day 78, flushed yesterday and plan on giving her the first round of bloom nutes next feeding. She's blowing up!!
Day 79, steady growth!
Tent was getting warm (85) so I got a sweet tip to run lights at night. She just got done taking a 24 hour nap and is back!! Buds are starting to form🤙
Day 9 flower, Gave her the first round of bloom nutes today.
This stretch ain't a joke. I gotta tuck the main branches into the scrog every 2 days
Flower day 12, buds are in the making! Hoping to get these next several weeks over without any problems🤞
Day 14, watered yesterday and she's feeling good! Still stretching

Looks like a potassium deficiency and a little excess of nitrogen.
I would up the ppm but lower the nitrogen count if you can. I usually start at 750ppm flower and work up to 1200 depending on the strain.

Week 3 of flower! Day 17, Buds are really growing in now. Just gave her a good dose of bloom nutes and cut out the grow nutes.
Day 19, so far so good! She's maturing a little faster than her little sister. Pistils are changing colors and I have leaves going purple (hoping that's good) lol
Day 21, turns out purple leaves aren't a good thing. She needed more potassium lol the stretch is about over now. Buds are slowly filling out.
The stretch is over! Week 4 is here and this lady has started getting a little frost on her. Can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings 👍
Day 27, Figured out my runoff was about 4-5 points higher pH than my water. Adjusted my pH accordingly today.😬
Checked on her today, day 28, and she seemed to like the flush. Getting frostier and the undergrowth is starting to mature a little🤙
Week 5! Had some serious pH issues with my soil last week or so. That's where the discolored leaves came from. Hopefully the thorough flush she got helped her out!
Her buds are maturing nicely and can definitely smell the orange on her now! One more month!
Day 32. Went on a weekend trip and came home to find her STILL SPREADING purple. Gave her some food and have my fingers crossed it doesn't get worse..
Day 34, buds are doing great. Picked a few dead leaves out and had a very sticky hand lmao showing a lil nute burn so I'm assuming she's eating again which is good
Week 6 has arrived!
Day 36 flower, fed her today pH going in 6.25 and coming out was 6.6 so we're getting a little better. Enough to let her eat. The purpling hasn't progressed any more. She's STICKY ICKY!
Day 38, she's back on track and on her way to the finish line! Letting soil dry out a little before I give her some plain water. Read a few articles on the final flush and I've decided not to flush her in the final weeks.
Day 40, she's fattening up. Plain watering yesterday. Probably won't feed for another couple days. 👍
I have some weird leaf discoloration on a couple of flowers that are directly under the center of my light. What do I need to do? Also this is what my lowest (younger) leaves are doing at the bottom of the plant. Any tips? included a pic of a flower in the corner that looks fine.
Week 7, F42 she's nearing the finish line. Starting to see some amber and more orange hair. Gave her a feeding today of bloom nutes only at 6.5 pH
F44 still have a few new pistils coming in it seems. I did take a test nug off last night to see how she smokes. Under the microscope the test nug is about 5% amber 95% cloudy. I'm thinking she'll put on some more weight this next week.
F47, took another cola off her today, micro shots are reading almost all cloudy. I think I might've been snapping pics of leaves before because I'm not seeing much amber on the buds now.
F48, she's getting more orange pistils every day
Week 8! This is hopefully the final week. I keep checking trichs daily lmao she's smelling great. Like a skunk carrying a sack of oranges😂
Day 50 of flower, took 6 colas off today. My plan is to harvest colas at different points to see what I like. Today is 15% amber mostly cloudy. Also dry & wet trimming to see what I prefer. Fun experiment 🤙
Day 52 flower, 125 days since sprout! examined the trichs and found them about 40% amber so I chopped the tops off. Letting the lowers go another few days then I'll see what they're looking like. Trimming is very tedious work lmaoooo
Day 55, 128 days since sprout. THE FIRST GROW IS DONE!! I chopped, washed and hung the remaining buds. Time to dry and cure👍 I didn't weigh wet but I can't wait to see dry weight!
Well my first harvest is in the books! It's time for a nice long cure to get the terps back now. I had a great experience growing the MS, it was easily trained and took stress like a champ. Also learned tons from my gromies on GD, shout out to BudXs, Beans, SBG, fruit grower, NorCal, hellish, and a bunch of others!! Thanks dudes 😁
