Seeds planted today.
No special technique. Straight in the soil. Keep it simple.
These will share the room, with 2 orange punch clones, for a couple of weeks. A few weeks after, i will move them to another tent, under hid light.
I use this 150w envirolite, as veg is a little slower, and i have critical orange punch, flowering in my main room, where these will end up.
I expect to see sprouts, within 3 days..... We'll see 😀
It took 4 days, for the first 3 to show, 5 for the fourth.
Looking ok. No nutes yet.
Running a bit warm in my veg room, not a lot i can do, apart from ride with it 🤣
Growth looking nice, and as slow as i need it to be, for now. 4/5 weeks, before i can move them to the other room.
Will introduce a tiny bit of nutrition this week.
Light a bit further than i want, but a fresh batch of orange punch, are rooting under the same light.
Gave a r/o water foliar spray, just before pics.
Coming along nicely.
Fed once so far. 0.1ml/L each of fish mix, alg a mic and acti Vera, in deionised, reverse osmosis water.
At least 3 weeks, before i can move these out of my cloning room. Growth speed, is where i need it. If they went any faster, they could outgrow this tent, before im ready.
Looking good. Nice colour.
They are taking 250ml of water, every 3 days, which is slowly speeding up.
Of the 4. 2 look very similar. 1 is a bit smaller, and the 4th, is a runt. I've had surprising outcomes, from smaller plants before 🤣
Nutes as last week. 0.1ml/l, of fish mix, alg a mic, and acti Vera.
Today i will foliar spray, alg a mic and acti Vera, at 0.1ml/l, and repeat every 3-4 days.
I will top on node 8,which isn't far away.
Plants are starting to take on a darker colour. Nutrients as last week. Plants using more water daily. Ready for repotting.
Growth starting to speed up a bit. Will be moving them to the bigger room, in around a week.
A slight eucalyptus smell, coming from the plants.
Plants are thundering along, and starting to get darker.
Slight eucalyptus smell.
Added two cheap led units, alongside the 250w hallide.
25ml of charge added, to plagron light mix.
Calmag at 0.1ml/gal, once a week.
Feed still at the same levels, every 3 days. Pure r/o in between.
Only been 5 days, since last update. But plants have bushed out loads.
3 clones, taken from each plant. May the best one win.
Lightning is currently....
1 x 600w powerplant metal hallide
2 x viparspectra 450 leds. On bloom only (100w each switch)
Plants are looking very healthy. Apart from plant 4,which developed yellow tips, as soon as the roots hit the charge. Im not concerned at this point.
No feed this past week. Just r/o water, at ph7. 0. I am only going to give liquid feed once a week now, and only to feed soil microbes. I will add vitalink bat guano, and guakalong palm ash, in around 2 weeks time.
Definitely starting to smell a bit. Gonna be a real stinker. Good job i just replaced my carbon filters.
Clones looking good.
Now the rfi noisey viparspectras are out, things have chilled out. No more well known telephone companies, on my case.
I can guarantee, 100%, they were the issue. Which was interference down my broadband line.
Gone back to feeding every 3 days for now. Same levels, with the addition of bloom.
The net allows a bit of light, a little further into the canopy. Not much though.
Smell is getting stronger. Smells nice too. Still tones of eucalyptus, but becoming more pungent.
Stems are quite strong.
A couple of hot days last week.
Plants are forming flowers nicely. Lots of budding sites. A lot of progression in the last week.
Feeding every day now. Plants showed signs of wanting more. Keeping a closer eye on plant #3. Slightly lighter in colour.
During the hot days, i found that running the extraction system, in positive pressure, instead of my normal negative, lowered temps a little. It made temps 1.2c over ambient, instead of my normal 2c. Thats 2 x 150mm in, and 1 x 150mm out, at full power.
Temps are lower with 2 x hids, than with 1 hid, and 2 x viparspectras on one switch.
🤣
Hot, hot, hot.
Did i say the weather is hot....... Only a couple more days of it left.
Dropped power to 250w, on the hps. Also the 250w mh, is back in, as i like the combined spectrum. The extra uv, is ramping up trichome production. I will turn hps, back to 400w, when it cools down a little outside.
To add, plants are not suffering from the heat. Afghanistan is probably warmer than my tent, on a bad day.
Plant 3 still a little lighter in colour. Hasn't got any worse.
Added some guano, and palm ash. To clarify, they only had charge once, at repot, and a second small dose with the guano.
I will reduce the bio bizz back to once a week.
Clearly 2 phenos in my tent. 1 slightly taller than the other.
All still have a slight eucalyptus scent, but with the addition of spice and earth now.
But if you brush against a plant, the smell is very citrus, and uncannily like orange bud. I wonder if this was the afghani indica, used in its creation. All 4 plants have the same smell. 2 of each pheno.
Temperatures peaked at 32c in the tent, for a couple of days.
Plants 3 and 4, were still a lighter colour, so i did a soil ph test..... Outcome was low, at 5.7.
Flushed all 4, even though it was only affecting 2 of 4 plants. Both plants at the back of the tent, where ventilation is poorer.
24hrs later, the 2 lighter plants, were more yellowish. Flush successful. Feeding recommenced at normal rate.
Humidity has been high all week, and hasn't fully returned to normal levels. I actually took the net out, to allow more airflow between the canopy, and light to lower levels. This helped loads.
Trichome production is crazy. Becoming shiny, and greasy.
Smells are sweet and spicy. Tones of eucalyptus, pine and citrus. Plant 1 is developing hints of coffee on top.
A few hairs are changing colour already.
My next run, i wont top this strain. I feel it needs its central cola. I have 6 ready to go into my main chamber, and i will just let them grow into Christmas trees.
