Trying to grow and incredible size flower. Currently in a 10 gallon pot but will be transplanted to a 30 gallon pot two-four weeks before flowering. This refining will will stsy the same until transplanting a and recover, then i May tweek it to increase nitrogen storage for the first Two to for of flower. This plants FIMed itself 3 weeks into veg by growing an 11 finger leaf in place Of it’s main node. Around 4 weeks later the top node begins began regrowing and overtakes the old nodeleaf. This plus some low stress training gives this plant a unique shape and hopefully a massive yield!!
Og matty kush/mendo creme is a phenomenal strain of you grow it properly. I had mishaps with the ones I have pictures of, my previous indoor mendo creme grow was successful and produces such an aromatic bud it’s hard to describe, like medicine cream my buddies called it, sorta like Vick’s mixed with baileys when you smoke it, the menthe hangs with you for hours. Highs a light and hazy buzz, but def a good buzz. I wouldn’t say it lasts a terribly long time but not a short buzz either. THe outdoor plant I experimented with in this outcome had more of a chalky/berry flavor with hints of menthe, indoor this plant is much better.
This grow ended up, well you will see in the pictures. This plant thrives inside! It got so beautiful and large. Then disaster struck. My landlord had to abruptly move and kicked me out of my space and I had to deconstruct everything and move it. In the months after I struggled to find another place until I rented my home. And now I’m back into it. This plant went through some stuff. I had taken this plant and my only other OG matty and had to stick them out in a horse trailer for a month and half. The plants were locked up and a friend that I had rented a space from watered them for me when I was busy at work. He got sick for 10 days, around mid May and forgot about them. When I brought them home he had a guilty look on his face. We had had some 90+ degree days and they were humid for a late spring in Michigan. Not only did he dry the plants out, they got some type of disease, they began early flower during all of this being in a area occluded of natural light. I thought they would either die, or be very bad. I didn’t give up on them and they both grew themselves through reveg and gracefully into flower. Curing the disease and rehabbing the plants was not an easy task. I never took pictures of them in their worse shape, I wish I would, because the bounce back was unbelievable. These plants are hurt remember that when looking at the pictures. They spent their last 4 months going through a lot of struggles and still managed to not hermaphradite, die, and producer some decent buds. A lot of the material was crystal coated but very loose. It made excellent cannabutter. I would recommend mendo creme to any grower or breeder, the profile of the genetics makes for a beautiful plant with a gorgeous taste. My indoor mendos had a very strikingly different fall color with bright purple buds and light green leaves sorta inverted to how the outdoor mendo ended up.
Sorry for not following up and a lack of pictures. This og matty kush(Mendo creme) plant continued to veg for a significant time. Due to unforeseen circumstances this plant was placed outdoor for the remainder of its life. Sadly the plant didn’t produce too much after several setbacks transistioning from a cool dry climate to a hot humid one. I harvested about 3/4 lb of decent bud. The plant however produced weak bark after a year and a half of veg. I don’t recommend long term veg on plants, the experience was a high hope with a low product value and a lot of time, nutrients etc went into this. Had circumstances been differ t and I flowered inside I may have had a different result but I’m not sure the end result would have been more or less. Sometimes you just have to learn for yourself. At the end the plant stood about 4’ tall and was about 6’ wise, the end buds were dense, compacted but sporadic in growth. Very few spindles of bud on the lower branches(something I don’t encounter indoor at all) that we’re loose. The plant was flowered in a 20 gallon pot and was finished above ground. Two of The seedlings I planted along side this one(in the ground) took off and before flower quickly dwarfed this plant in size and production(each produced apx 1.5 lbs of bud compared to .75 on this one).
So end result, size or not, unless your growing a behemoth plant and have the natural environment for one, don’t try a long term veg and flower it will just lead to disappointment. If I had this plant to go over again with I would have used it as a mother and would have continued until now. Lessons learned!
