Seemed to stop the nute burn by Switching over to flower nutes for the rest of plants life cycle. Pistils shooting out, buds starting to form very slowly.
Buds are starting to form, done some minor defoliation to try to expose some of the lower bud sites. Some leaves are looking like theres a calmag issue. Doubling up on the calmag for this weeks feedings.
Just starting off week 8, one top is just hellbent on stretching. Flowers look about a week behind the others but it is getting way too tall. Might have to give that brand a little snapperoo.
Other than that I upped the calmag to try to help with the deficiency in some of the leaves. Plant is starting to drop a lot of the lowers that cant get light. Tent is smelling pretty loud. Will keep updating as the week goes on.
Having some serious leaf problems. It looks like it's not affecting the newest leaves. Moved my light all the way up and upped the calmag. Hopefully this wont cause too much damage to the buds as she thickens up.
Colas are starting to fill out. Some are definately more developed than the others. Hoping to not have to do a staggered harvest.
Noticed far too late that I have a major infestation of not only fungus gnats, but also thrips. I have sprayed the plant down with spinosad and neem oil treated my coco. No sign of thrips 2 days later. Will hose her down on saturday to try to break the egg cycle and hopefully we won't see any more. Buds look good but the leaves are super ugly. Hoping to finish her up here in the next 3 weeks or so.
So far so good, haven't seen any thrips or fungus gnats this week. Leaves are all screwed but were still chugging along.
Going to treat again with spinosad tomorrow and that should be it until chop.
Should be about 3 more weeks on her. Hopefully not more. These last few weeks are tough haha.
Starting off this week a lot of the canopy is showing some fall colors. It seems to be mostly at the top on the plant and at the most mature colas. Theres about 6 decent colas that are about ready to go, and maybe 4 or 5 others that are about a week behind. Got a lot more seeds I'm really itching to start so I will not be staggering the harvest. Immature buds will be doing into the trim bin for edibles, waste nothing :)
Plant smell is there but not overpowering at all. It's really light and earthy, kind of sweet but not that powerful citrus you get from some strains. When you touch the buds or they rub on the walls there is this awesome chemically smell that I really cant compare to anything else. It combines with the others and is really something else. Cant wait to get her into jars.
Starting the week it looks like most of the trichomes are cloudy. Sugar leaves seem to be about 80% cloudy 20 clear. But the actual calyxes seem to be completely cloudy. Seen like 1 or 2 Amber ones but they are super sparse. Going to harvest when shes about 1-3% amber. Going for a more sativa effect on this one.
Overall these are going to be some super chunky buds and I cant believe she made it this far with all of the pest problems.
Man was this a roller coaster. This plant got way bigger than I thought and taught me a lot along the way. Having both fungus gnats and thrips infect midway through flower was super discouraging but the autoflowers and microgrowery subreddits really help when it comes to dealing with issues. Spinosad is going to be applied in intervals my entire next grow to make sure there are no thrips or gnats.
In retrospect i think i harvested a little early, the buds are a little airy and i would have liked them to be a little denser. We will do better on this next one.
Yield came just under 2 oz. Not bad as this is all personal use. Should last me a long ass time.
Buds themselves are sticky and fairly frosty with a ton of red hairs. Note to others, do not touch your eyes with cannabis sap... it was a bad time haha.
Overall happy with this grow, but more excited to do better next time.
