First grow! All okay so far, seeds sprouted and on the way! Growing in biobizz all mix, will be using biobizz nutes, will most likely skip using bio grow and use just the bloom and top max depending on veg time. In a 2x2 with a MH 100w. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Learning as I go! (Filling a few weeks in at once, im actually on week 4 so apologies for picture lighting, i learned later on and turned them off for later pictures, week 3! 🤦‍♂️)

Alot seemed to happen this week growth wise! We've had pretty good weather in the uk so i have been taking outside while i can, i guess it loved it. As it looks like the weather is decent for a while ill do this is as much as i can. Had some yellowing on the tips of new leaves very slight and hasnt spread so im thinking not to much to worry about and probably down to hot soil. I didnt flush as i was given 50/50 advice on that, but everything seems okay so happy i didnt.

Week 4 had a bit more growth and on day 27 she started to pre/flower. Still taking outside as much as i can as long as the weathers good. Will start adding nutes in next watering which is tomorrow. Ill start with just a 1ml each of bloom and top max to see how they react! (Not that i know what im looking for but i guess thing going wrong should be obvious) I decided against LST even though i thought i was going to do it before i started. Once it came tims I didnt properly understand why or how it could help so got nervous and just let her grow. Now i get it, makes sense and will for sure next time, too late now?

Week 5, looks like there stretching a bit. Budd sites developing. Edit. Added a 3500k spectrum cob led light that kicks out about 100w to the tent, hopefully this will help a bit with flowering until i upgrade to a stronger single unit.

Week 5 Stopped adding bio grow and upped the bloom nutes as i started to see the odd purpleish stem on one plant, also ordered a bottle of cal mag and will started adding a 1ml per L in the next feed. Otherwise i think everythings on track ✌️ Always appreciate advice/criticism etc. 👍

Struggling keeping temps down this week. Uk has been really hot so tent has shot up, switched to 18/6 for a while so i can switch the lights off during the day. Still very hot at night so having to keep the tent open while the lights are on...not ideal. Got more fans going, just to stop hot spots and keep air flowing. Love the hot weather for me but i cant help thinking my plants are gonna suffer this week. Weather should be gettin cooler by the weekend so should be temporary. Exhaust fan unfortunately does nothing as my room itself is baking so its just cycling hot air, i mean it helps but not greatly. Will probably have to get a proper ac unit for my room for the summer...🤔 🤞fingers crossed they get through this without any major problems🤞

Temps back under control 👌 got away without any issues from last week i think. Older plant is coming along nicely, the younger seems to be taking longer to mature, im guessing this is because i need more light? Or just because it has more branches and bud sites? Either way the older is going to get chopped first so hopefully the younger will put on weight with a couple weeks alone in the tent! 2 more weeks till first chop hopefully✌️

Same routine just feeding. Buzzin for next week and chopping my first plant! Time to start thinking about the drying/cure process. I was planning on using the tent to hang dry both plants thats not gonna work, im sure this is a very common thing where newbies think their plants will finish at the same time 🤦‍♂️ Gonna have to think of another way now....maybe empty a wardrobe and see if i can make shift something... dont wanna rush this bit so hopefully i can find somewhere with a good enviroment ✌️

Patience is key!🧘‍♂️ holding off on first chop till saturday/sunday at the earliest. Fade has started to set in on plant #1. I cant stop looking at it. Plant #2 still a couple weeks off atleast. Emptied my wall closet, left a hygrometer in there over night and next day and it seemed to stay pretty steady at 50 rh and 22/24c. So i think ive found my drying space. Sick. ✌️ Update#. Chopped first plant and is drying as i type! Wardrobe stays between 20 and 22 c and 45/55 rh. Fan for half hour twice a day. Wardrobe is darkkk and slightly open for airflow. Fingers crossed soon ill be able to try my first grow! Will update harvest section once dried and weighed and tried before cure ✌️

Week 11. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

First grow finished and in a jar for curing! Happy is an understatement! First off, shout out to Dutch Passion! and everyone that gave advice! Thank you for making this easy! Why i havent done this sooner is beyond me! The plant grew with little to no problems from seed to harvest (from what i could tell, im sure more experienced growers could point out a few things! Please do!) The smell started with an odd bitter/sour orange which is not as bad as it might sound but soon changed to a sweet orange smell later in flower! 🍊 smells great! Now its dried and the plant smell has gone it smells just like oranges and bit hashy maybe! Im still working it out Taste is citrus orange and hashy maybe again still working it out, just lovely though. The smoothest smoke I can remember having in along time! Will be curing this for 2months so hopefully will just get better 👌 Yield was 2.2oz off one plant. This could have been better but thats due to my own lack of skills with growing and not in any way a fault of the breeder! My 2nd plant which is a couple weeks off looks like it will be double this amount which is much better I think! Next run ill also try LST. ⚠️🍊🍹 Thanks for all the help along the way!

Looking great. 24/0 for the whole grow cycle?
Kennedy90
Kennedy90commented5 years ago
@y0shimitsu, yeh i figured that would be the case, helps keep my humidity down in flower for sure also. Yeh pros and cons but ill try 20/4 or 18/6 next run to compare, not to fussed about the electricity bill for a few months it seems worth the experiment
y0shimitsu
y0shimitsucommented5 years ago
@Kennedy90, as long as you supplement all the other needs to balance the extra hours of lights plants will be fine. I would be much more worried for the electricity bill 💰
Kennedy90
Kennedy90commented5 years ago
@y0shimitsu, not experienced enough to know the benefits, i know some people say plants need a rest but lots of contradicting info about it so just thought id try, and if im honest i would forget half the time to turn lights off on schedule ✌️

NO LST if growing outdoors. The great thing about growing Outdoors is if you can keep her outside the Sun rises and sets which allows all branches to get sunlight. I love outdoor growing! No stress of LST...happy growing man!😎

@Kennedy90, hey buddy No laughing here!! I love this sight because you can learn so many techniques. I bought this and it is an amazing investment I have a greenhouse but still you never know. I live here in the Midwest and there are days that the greenhouse can get as hot as 120 degrees. This will keep almost all of those problems away for you and it works amazing for mold. All so you CAN spray this even on the day of harvest if needed. I do 1/2 oz to a gallon of water. ONLY SPRAY AT NIGHT!! Very very important. It will fry and kill them if you do it when the sun is shining. Cheap investment great results!

@GreenhouseGrowing, hey man, i have a question if you dont mind? As im taking outdoors most days at the minute, is there any problems i could face other than the typical pests and my dog? That maybe i wont find when growing indoors? For example we have lots of lil flying insects in the uk, are most of them bless? Annnd some days are heat is great but humidity can shoot down to 27% outside, can this be an issue? Appreciate any help you have and feel free to laugh at this! 😅

@Bushbaby808, Cheers mate! Yeh during winter i imagine it'll be much easier gettin the enviro in the tent spot on. Last problem i thought we'd have is heat! Still much better these last few days in there. Checked your grow out and looks proper decent mate! First time also? Impressive! 👏

Looking nice n healthy bud 😉 I'm just wondering why you're putting the babies outside too? I'm in the UK to and as you say we have a multitude of little beasties, I'd be paranoid of attacks man!!! Just wondering?👍😊

@Kennedy90, Hahaaa, I hear ya bud!! It can only be good for them getting some real sunshine although that's come to an end for a bit here ah!!! As far as my lighting I recently purchased a new LED, the Spider Farmer SF1000, fantastic light for a really good price too!! Well worth it 👍 Speak soon bud 😉

Kennedy90commented5 years ago
@Bushbaby808, Yo dude thanks for the comment! As for taking the plants outside, ive actually stopped for a couple reasons, one being im sitting there watching them 24/7 for loads of reasons like the insects and my dogs and what not. Plants are getting bigger also so not so discreet anymore. I guess there is definetly a risk to taking indoor plants outdoors. I get para even leaving them for 10 minutes outside. If i have a day where i can sit in the garden all day ill take them out with me but if im not gonna be home or even just busy ill leave them indoors (when there smaller). I suppose if your lighting set up is top notch then its probably not necessary but i recon mine benefitted from the odd day outside when they were younger. All good! 👌😊
